Spectator excitement levels have rocketed as we search for cover from rain

As the captain of the Titanic said about the iceberg. [There was no drone at Cardiff in 2023 because it crashed in practice]

No Beau Bailey, Australian, just turning 16, SGP3 medalist.Probably a better prospect than Cairns

Oxford Chargers v Belle Vue Colts 27/7/25 3pm

He should have accepted the booking, could have had 9 rides then [8 in practice because ht 9 might have been a bit tricky] -
Extra rides for Ingram and Perry is probably doing more for rider development than drafting in Sam Woods.
-
It doesn't. Ask Oxford.

Plymouth Gladiators v Oxford Cheetahs 26/7/25 7pm
arnieg replied to NumberEight's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Isn't it: guest or R/R for missing rider followed by ban for withholding services or 75% guest and no ban. - looks like Plymouth have gone for the latter. -
I thought of that but as the potential missed match is his debut wouldn't that be a 75% guest? [And therefore lower than Cook]

And the winner of pedant of the day goes to ....

Glasgow v Berwick Friday 25th July

To the best of my knowledge neither of these competitions are usually broadcast on Polish TV (except possibly when staged in Poland) And why would Polish TV wish to broadcast the European Pairs in competition with the Polish Championship Final on the same day. The list of winners is hardly stellar: https://pl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mistrzostwa_Europy_par_na_żużlu As for the Euro Junior Teams it's been going since 2008 and the main feature is the constant hanging of the upper age limit. Funnily enough I've just written an article about an event that exactly fits your description - the World Speedway League. -

Neither of these could be described 'events organised for Polish TV' -

They are the two most obvious competitions to cull in a rationalisation of FIM competitions. -

Looks to me as if Aug 7 is only clash as Solkatterna probably won't make play-offs.

Is that Victor Palovaara who rides for Solkatterna on Thursdays?

Current guest tally: Spires 15 Cheetahs 14. [So Cheetahs guests will overtake Spires guests tonight] Edwards will become third rider to guest for both Spires and Cheetahs this season. [Zach Cook and Vuolas being the others] Oxford top in both leagues! -
Is It Finally Time For One League?

Not if you use weighted averages [1993 being the precedent] -

To be fair they did commission a report from some marketing consultants about 20 years ago. Although the only recommendation on which I can see any progress is: 'improving the quality of the coffee served to spectators' -
Killeen rode well, wouldn't have taken him out but I was a touch surprised Palovaara got a 4th ride which should have gone to Killeen (Mitch was already in ht 14). An astute tactician would have put Mitch in ht 12 for Killeen as well. As it turns out I doubt it would have made any difference. The other questionable decision was ceding gate choice to the Aces for ht 15 [gate 4 scored just 9 pts all night]
