  1. And Doyle is so frequently quoted because he is the EXCEPTION to the general rule. Mentioning his name does nothing to disturb the well established fact that riders generally improve with age and so it is perfectly reasonable to assume that a 19 year old with a 7 point average is likely to be better than a 23 year old. with a lower average. Both Cook's and Flint are good prospects (but nothing like as hot as Gusts, Przeymski, Kvech or Blodorn).
  2. Which rather proves my point how much better than MOST Premiership riders Bellego is.
  3. Looking at their 2022 results there is little to split Bellego and Ellis, so given that Bellego could end up a heat leadercat Ellis' expense I don't see how you can consider him to weak as a second string. Remember Bellego rides in the Polish Ekstraliga which is more than you can say for most Premiership heatleaders.
  4. Jake Turner is a New Zealander, but has been based in Adelaide for the last 3 years or so. I think I saw him once at Wolverhampton.
  5. Claus Vissing 10 Sam Jensen 9 Tobias Thomsen 8 - it's a bit weaker than the CL.
  6. This statement is incorrect. Your source is unreliable. Brady Kurtz was assessed at 5 because he rode in the DSL (equivalent of the Premiership). Zischke has not ridden in the DSL.
  7. 6 teams I 2022 => 18 heatleaders Wolves riders in top 18 of averages in 2022 Masters Becker Douglas S Worrall - sounds like at least 4 to me
  8. Did some digging: VAL DE GUYENNE (speedway - shale laid on former grass surface) 14.08.22 Inauguration Trophy 1. Steven Goret (4,4,4,4,4,4) 24 2. Hynek Ć tichauer (3,4,4,3,4,3) 21 3. Theo Pijper (4,3,3, 2,3,2) 17 4. Julien Cayre (4,2,1,3,2,1) 13 5. Ace Pijper (2,3,4,4,3,0) 16
  9. But I don't think Congreve is eligible for the NL.
  10. I'm in agreement with you. But how will Brennan/Mountain/Hume's rolling averages work in 2023? After (say) 6 matches will they: 1) stay on starting average because in effect they have 'assessed' averages 2) have a GSA based on last 4 of 2022 and 6 from 2023. 3) have a GSA based on the six 2023 matches and 75% of the points scored from the 4 remaining 2022 matches?
  11. I came close 17th and 24th arrived yesterday, but mysteriously 10th is still stuck in the system
  12. Six may not sound a lot, but three were in the last five meetings.
  13. He was never bang average. He had one good month then for the rest of the season was woeful. [35 points from 44 rides in his last 12 matche for Plymouth,, never scoring more than 5]
  14. Which is made up of his 6 Scunny appearances (30 rides 42 pts) this year plus his last 4 matches for Newcastle in 2021 (21 rides 30 points) 72/51*4 = 5.65 QED
  15. McGuiness is 22, the Cook's are 23 and 25. Pearson is clearly the better prospect.
  16. Would Poole really sign a rider who averaged 2.5 points a match less than James Pearson in Poland last season (and is older)?
  17. Going into play-offs Poole were 3 over limit so King and Ablitt out for Jack Smith and a 4 pointer would have worked. Note even Bickley and a 4 pointer would have been too high for a double change. So unless there was a magic 2 pointer out there Ablitt was pretty much irreplaceable. And he still looks the best option if Pirates want a strong no 6 in 2023.
  18. But not many as talented as Hook and Pearson and look at their GSAs.
  19. Typically a home away differential is 1 to 1.5 points. Bailey's is almost three. And when comparing Bailey and Fredriksen you need to consider that most of Bailey's appearances were at reserve, while ALL of Lasse's were in the top 5. He might add a point to his actual average but I'd be surprised if Fredriksen can up his green sheet by that much. Bailey will do well to maintain his average unless he stays at Glasgow.
