Belle Vue v Sheffield KOC March 30th 7.30pm
Col replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Kildemand very hit & miss, looked faster than C Holder in his first ride after passing Flint then was utterly anonymous in his next two rides, looked fast enough in his fourth but had to yield to Bewley's hunt down of C Holder, which was good. Cook was disappointing, won his last ride when the points were decided gave it a go at forcing his was past Etheridge on the run in to the line, but didn't manage it. Cairns score looked reasonable for an away RS but only beat Kileen twice, once in heat 2 when Kileen was off the graveyard gate 3 and in heat 4 when Bewley was on the graveyard gate 3 so Bewley kept Kileen at the back after getting past him. Thomson, Zischke & Harris were largely anonymous. I witnessed Harris score 19 points from 7 rides at Sheffield in 2021, 5 years on maybe its beyond him now. Bewley cut back scything between Pickering & J Holder in heat 13 was a joy to watch. -

Dan Bewley take a bow, he was tremendous. The rest of the Aces may as well have not shown up. Best racing I've seen at Owlerton for some time. Shame gate 3 is still a graveyard in the early heats. -
Just got to Owlerton to hear no Kurt's, great. Belle Vue to get the graveyard gate 3 for 3 of the opening 4 heats... Tigers 10 points up by heat 4.

Well I was hoping someone would post a reasonable report of the action of the meeting, rather than 3 pages of Cairns chat but hey ho. Will be at Owlerton for an inevitable Aces humiliation on Thursday. -
Last rode in 2019. So 6 years ago. Looking froward to visiting a new track.

2022 Overall Tobiasz Musielak 9.04 Jack Holder 8.67 Away Tobiasz Musielak 8.42 Jack Holder 7.22

Sheffield 2023. Overall. Jack Holder 9.40 Tobiasz Musielak 9.35 Tai Woffinden 9.12 Away Tobiasz Musielak 8.50 Tai Woffinden 8.33 Jack Holder 8.00 That doesn't suggest if motivated and in a competitive team that Musielak will struggle to win heats home & away.

I like the new badge.

I haven't read it fully but I believe Wright said that without a Premiership berth if he didn't have a ride in Polish League with Landshut he'd have quit speedway because he couldn't make it pay.

Don't think BP's were removed from GSA's until early 2000's so I'd imagine those Ipswich averages include BP's.
-
Erik Gundersen 10.23, Simon Wigg 8.86, Lance King 8.74, Alan Grahame 8.69, Phil Collins 7.98, Peter Ravn 7.97, Jan O. Pedersen 6.78 Tony Rickardsson 10.35, Tomasz Gollob 9.38, Chris Louis 9.35, Scott Nicholls 6.41, Antonín Šváb Jr. 4.98 Savalas Clouting 4.19. Really,? No one ever mentions Oxford 86. But that doesn't compare either

I applaud Sheffield for sticking with Flint & Rowe. Why Etheridge & the elder Holder who is 15 years past his best I don't know.
-
Couldn't be much worse!
-
It made no point of persevering with Zischke last year and not using him on a 3.00 average this year, because I'm sure another team would have at some point.
-
Well I have my doubts about most announced & presumed septets... but obviously no idea what Witches will do. Don't like this Lions team, can't see much average improvement in any rider... other than it's a weaker league improvement which all riders will get (and suffer from next winter with inflated averages).

83, the year after Penhall retired. Gundersen, King, Wigg, Alan Grahame, Phil Collins, Ravn & Jan O Pedersen. Cross had a few meetings when Pedersen was injured. I think Pedersen & Ravn finished the season as 7+ averaging reserves.
-
Rain affected Final in Wroclaw Handberg did indeed finish 3rd behind Havelock & Jonsson, I believe. Cross could have been World Champion in 1990 before he broke his back at the world pairs, never quite the same rider afterwards.

Jack Holder 9.08 Josh Pickering 7.76 Chris Holder 6.84 Anders Rowe 5.22 Leon Flint 5.06 Jye Etheridge 3.00 Luke Killeen R/S Total 36.96

That is what pretty much everyone predicted from the start, unless BV choose Mulford over Zischke as the 3.00 reserve.
-
It was a fairly matter-of-fact statement that I found on sportowefakty, which also reports he's been suspended by Svemo for the entirety of May 2026, as they issue his license I assume it's not just from the Swedish league? I'm not seeing Hellstrom-Bangs or Charles Wright listed as desirable signings for the Witches in that thread.

Heat 05: Z Cook, Kildemand, Lidsey, Janowski 4-2 (17-13) 60.89 Heat 12: Kildemand, Lidsey, Mulford, Riss (Fell, Excluded) 3-3 (44-28) Awarded

But every team is weaker due to this 37.00 points limit, which I find bizarre consider there are two less teams... What makes you think Hellstrom-Bangs is even interested in riding over here, he never has before. I find this quite odd, an Ipswich fan on this forum (not sure who) has said that Kurtz has been the best visitor to Foxhall since lockdown and Ipswich fans seemed happy enough when they thought Bewley was going to be their #1.

One appearance at NSS in 2025 from #6, covering allot of #2 R/R rides. Peter Kildemand - 3, 1', 2, 1, 1', 3, 1 = 12+2
