  1. Well let's say that I'd rather have Hans Andersen (our asset) at no1 than Ryan Fisher for starters, that's not gonna happen in the PL is it? That's before you perm some of our other quality assets riding elsewhere into a team.
  2. Does make you wonder why MH had another go when he knew what it was like: "In an official statement, Colin Horton said: "An agreement has been made between Mick and myself to transfer the interests of the club to me. "Mick has spent the last three seasons maintaing Peterborough's presence in the Elite League and he felt a financial injection was needed to sustain the club's existence. "This purchase will safeguard the future of Peterborough Speedway and allow the club to move forward. "I would like to thank Mick for all the hard work he has put into the club and I am confident we can take it on to the next level." PT 26/5/05) CH did take us to the next level (apparently making a shedful in 2006) with Bratley in tow and an alleged thriving commercial side. Bratley said a long time ago that crowds alone could not sustain Peterborough and he also worked hard on presentation as well, even if I didn't like it all. Look at the overall product since then. Never quite there with Rick until the last few months of 5 years and only Newcastle in 2014 worked due to Sky and a cheap admission crowd who found the gates locked if they returned next time!
  3. Protecting his investment as the owner and allegedly doing what many don't or can't do in that the sums add up? Those of us who turn up regularly do but your view is rather simplistic!
  4. So is he or isn't he? "The fitness of Kyle Howarth will be assessed prior to the meeting. Howarth suffered ankle ligament damage after a freak accident during Comets’ Premier League meeting against Edinburgh Monarchs at Derwent Park on Saturday." (timesandstar.co.uk) Have they assessed it yet.
  5. teams tbc: PANTHERS 1. Ryan Fisher 2. Lewis Blackbird 3. Ales Dryml 4. Ulrich Ostergaard 5. Lasse Bjerre 6. Joe Jacobs 7. Nicki Barrett WORKINGTON 1. Richard Lawson (G) 2. Mason Compton 3. Ricky Wells 4. Kyle Howarth 5. Rene Bach 6 Taylor Poole (G) 7. Simon Lambert
  6. as he said though: “The Premier League is very tough to ride in as you’re competing against the opposition’s top riders. “The Elite League is not as difficult because you are always are riding against at least one National League rider.” panthersweb
  7. How long's that been going on? I've been trying to find the source of the smell for ages
  8. Well it was done once I believe but nobody can actually remember when. You'd have had Black Eyed-Peas as the intro, Darren Fletcher probably doing the at the start rider introductions and then swiftly on with heat 1.
  9. And ice-hockey is where it should stay until it's a BSPA edict that all tracks partake in the celebration. I think that you need to have been following the reasoning before you understand a bit more what the deal is.
  10. If you choose to sit in the stand though you don't get the option not to stand up unless you're a real arse. It's only those elsewhere who can ignore it and get on with their business as per usual. As they've done away with the bikes at the start presentation I thinks it reasonable for all riders and management etc to assemble at pit gate to observe the anthem with everyone else just so we can see that we're all in this together! Personally it's easier to lose the tape and get on with the efficient running of the meeting, who'd notice?
  11. Don't get complacement, they must have lost the tape or are working on the way to present it. Neil said: "The anthem is here to stay but we're looking at the way it's presented. It remains at Coventry by the way..."
  12. That's no good, you'll miss the most important part of the show!
  13. I just deleted mine so we'll leave this one, You can copy the teams above from the post above into yours to start it off right. At least we're interested, although only just!
  14. teams tbc PANTHERS 1. Ryan Fisher 2. Lewis Blackbird 3. Ales Dryml 4. Ulrich Ostergaard 5. Lasse Bjerre 6. Joe Jacobs 7. IPSWICH 1. Richie Worrall 2. Cameron Heeps 3. Morten Risager 4. Gino Manzares 5. Rohan Tungate 6. Adam Ellis 7. Ritchie Hawkins
  15. The resident loony doesn't speak for Peterborough though!
  16. At the moment I am Tel (Well I'm actually standing until they've played the presentation masterpiece, then I sit!) but not quite as positive as your goodself, must be work stress. If I didn't know you we'd be having a discussion about some of those points. My only away trip (Panthers at Poole) has bitten the dust now As for Edwin, the only time I listen is when I'm straining to hear who is in the race over bikes already sitting at the tapes Elaine hasn't got an ingrowing toe nail has she? I have this picture of you visiting her in hospital Basil Fawlty style! And get that moose's head up!
  17. Thought you'd retired Tel! Are you still going? If so, what's the verdict thus far? Pretty bad if your biting with KKS
  18. Who rattled your cage! You'd have more than likely got a draw if Sammy the snail had managed to get out for heat 14, whatever happened there?
  19. Always useful to read the question! Plummer's not going to unblock you for a bit of cheap publicity
  20. Indeed! Although to update the event and make it relevant to the city of Peterborough, "Tally Ho" & "Toodle Pip" will be printed in the programme in 23 languages which is what you need to get by here these days allegedly. Good one, not heard that before!
  21. Apart from this setting up for the next day of course, A local event for local people - Festival of Hunting – 16 July 2014
  22. Looking a bit more than iffy now. Can't see a dry hour http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2640354
  23. From where? Somewhat an ironic comment when thinking of you on WWoS as you brought it up, not forgetting the alternative of course
  24. Fair point. Doesn't bother me because I'll not be going, and if I was then fortunately a couple of quid wouldn't worry me either. Taking the programme out of the equation because that really is optional, it's 100% more than a pound! Panthers 2014 GENERAL ADMISSION PRICES (Pay at the turnstile, on the day) - Adults - £15 Scunthorpe admission prices for this afternoon:- Adult: £17.00 Don't think it's unreasonable though tbh but more the point was that he's going to watch Peterborough Panthers but the desert is Coventry which he doesn't want to pay even £2 for. Scunthorpe fans see Scunthorpe twice so obviously they don't see the problem
