  1. Sorry rodders but why is that? I couldn't give a flying!
  2. Never been anything different: 2013 "Frost added: “There are losses at Peterborough every year but myself and Julie are very fortunate in that our companies make a lot of money." 2014 Horton said: “This club needs another Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney, people with the finances to make it work.” 2018 Ged Rathbone insists selling Panthers was the only way he could complete a five-year plan for the city club - “From the first day I took over the club at the end of 2014, my intention has always been to take Peterborough back to the highest level,” said Rathbone. “We had a five-year plan to do that and we have managed to achieve it going into the fifth year. “It was very obvious I couldn’t afford to make the plan come to fruition, but Mr Chapman’s purchase means it can now happen.
  3. Agreed. Rain all day eventually put me off attending but enjoyed that on TV and don't say that very often so well done to all concerned. Only downside, apart from the empty stand obviously, was the bulb out above the start. Gate 4 looked to be in a black hole and the exciting finishes went from light coming off the last turn only to fall into the very same black hole as they crossed the finishing line.
  4. Just said the same to someone. On Jul 15 I said we'd all come back to at the end of the summer with everything being wrong, including the weather; so it has proved. A summer sport cannot have summer off at home, that's ludicrous.
  5. Worth the drive Rodders to see 20 blokes standing at the pit gate looking at the track.
  6. Not fussed tbh and never play the numbers game anyway. Even Frost complained of awful gates and he provided a much superior product. Bratters complained over the years as well. It is what it is and the only supporters missing out are the ones not there. It should be entertaining and nobody wants to look a mug on TV.
  7. Live is better and with only 2 meeting left people have all winter to sit on their arse.
  8. It makes people feel better but doesn't mean a lot. If speedway isn't there because we're not running for whatever reason (and it's been close on numerous occasions since 2010 as we know) then there is nothing to be replaced.
  9. The time not to meet Peterborough is the second of quick succession meetings after a long break when they've got their eye in. Swindon are always beatable at the EoES and it'll be anything but easy but could be anything results wise tbh.
  10. Good to see 6 fingers and tractors fans agreeing on something anyway, funny that! It's a fair point although we'll never know. All teams get injuries though and it's for the rest of the quality in the team to then step up and management fill the gaps effectively to take up the slack. I'm sure that you can see the problems here
  11. I would have liked that post if it wasn't a reply to The Mentalist, so away from looney I'll say that I agree although I don't know who the first three named are but I know Fricke Doyle and Iversen so that sort of helps your case
  12. Paper never refuse ink. Chapman says “As for Peterborough staying in the Premiership, we obviously need to look at the structure of the sport and whether fixed race-nights work at the venue. Only time will tell, but we’ll know by November for sure.” Whatever they do or don't do tonight isn't going to make a jot of difference but naturally Johnson has to do his best to talk it up somehow so no problem with that.
  13. I've not seen Lambert this year so would agree with that based on his performances when he was here (from reserve anyway). However, with that team (injuries aside that can't be helped) and our current plight and league position as well as having something else that needs my attention and will be a better use of the time, this will be my first EoES miss of the season. With my mate not able to do the 17th, meaning that I'll probably dip out as well, then that only leaves Monday for the season. Better try to make that in case it's the last.
  14. Indeed! Probably the only thing Horton said that I agreed with “This club needs another Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney, people with the finances to make it work.”
  15. Yes, I think I'm on the point of spotting the flaw in this plan, but do go on
  16. The damage has been done and signing a reserve doesn't really matter given our league position and time of the season. Is it positive news to lift supporters ahead of their return to the EoES next Thursday? Only in team management and Facebook world. Some clarification/expansion of Chapman's Aug 15 PT article might, I say might because dropping a league again isn't a positive in many respects (although looking at Bury FC, be careful what you wish for is probably appropriate), be seen as real positive news to lift the spirits before the final few home meetings.
  17. True. But still doesn't address the point of do they really want speedway there as they say (or we are told that they do) because such a policy shows no appreciation of the sport and way it runs. Also, why can't speedway run within other bookings as it once did? That's never been properly explained although it seems that it can be done if the will is there.
  18. The memories. I blame that experience as the reason that I now need a daily fix of Inspiration TV and Daystar
  19. The question is, if the EoES really want us there (and we're told that they do, along with this alleged excellent 15 year working relationship we have with the administration) then why do they seemingly not respect our business and the way that we need to run? You could have posted the same quote in 2003. No dates from the middle of July until September for a summer sport is unacceptable. You said a while ago that if we needed more dates (as in a bigger fixture list at the start) then you thought that they would make them available. Was that based on Sunday meetings or would it apply to midweek as well? I always said that moving to Sunday was bad and would kill off top level sport at the EoES because once they got a sniff of us not running predominantly in the week then that would be their preferred option.
