  1. Polls close at 10pm though getting washed, dressed and outside so early in the day might be a bit of an issue for the Corbynistas. Tbh you'd be better mobilising for the next GE because Jezza's shambles of a party are scheduled to get less seats than a rudderless Tory party currently in self destruct mode. Sorry speedway fans: "a little bit of politics" as Ben Elton would say. This would have been interesting but the loss of Andersen for Panthers without suitable replacement has killed it but should enable Chapman's Witches fans to travel home happy.
  2. Brexit Party 1/6 - Labour 5/1: I think that Foxhole will be more fun
  3. He can certainly come back unfit and do more damage in 2 weeks that's for sure. Noodles has the medical figure but speedway riders are an unusual breed so a bit of strapping and couple of paracetomol should do it.
  4. I'll open it up again just in case something crops up. That'll keep our select merry band of men, and couple of ladies happy. Also can't miss Hodgy's Saturday pound
  5. Who ran your course, David Brent ("Never do today that which will become someone else's responsibility tomorrow")
  6. And another thing while you're on Did you read this: "one of the better sound systems in British speedway" Before we got the improved sound system and I used to moan about those speakers at the back and the crap sound levels, you weren't having any of it and always said that it was my ears
  7. It was left too long before anything was done. It didn't need lots of tractor racing but some of that outside line should have been brought back in earlier so basically I'd agree with that. The rain shower didn't help but neither did watering shiny concrete. It's a fine line though and it worked Thursday so why change was the reasoning I guess.
  8. A turnstile needs staff though so it's easy to see the solution but doesn't seem to be so easy to provide the answer given that volunteers are in short supply, as the taped off stand sections indicate. Fair point about the stand seats, been like that for a good few seasons now. They were actually quite clean yesterday considering that we'd had a Thursday meeting. If you attend at other times then bring your Mr Sheen and a rag. I guess that the EoES kept it clean generally in days gone by but only bother now for the very few major events that they have on now. It's no doubt another responsibility delegated to the user, i.e us, that's low priority, if any priority at all? Music's always subjective isn't it. As long as it's not something with thumping base or pertaining to rap then I'm not too fussed. I never heard any of those tunes yesterday which is unusual, I must have been enjoying myself
  9. Out of interest, as that's the first time that I can recall seeing you there this year, how many of the 8 Panthers home fixtures have you been to in 2019? That's in no way a dig at you or your excellent post, but our 6 fingered colleague has his cattle prod out and used your post to justify his Buster love in
  10. Yup I'm for real and thanks for proving my point: "If you can't read and understand then there isn't much point in anyone posting is there."
  11. Part of the problem Rodders, nobody knows what you're talking about And further on today's meeting (think someone may have acted on earlier comments or it's just happened anyway), decent atmosphere today with riders generally doing a lap of honour, which should be compulsory, for the crowd to show their appreciation. Only downside being matey trying to hunt out away fans and offload a bobble hat pre meeting when many just want some music and to have a chat: not the PA drowning out everything else
  12. That's the sad part. The momentum generated after two cracking meetings can't immediately be built on. Special mention to Andersen again. He's still a great watch and technician at the EoES when he's on it. I just wished that he hadn't seen that Sayfutdinov video. Very scary coming off turn 4 on several occasions; thought that he'd be coming up to our section of the stand
  13. Tedious. If you can't read and understand then there isn't much point in anyone posting is there. Times hit 60 seconds today with a track record a couple of weeks ago of 57.4. I would ask if you can come to any conclusion about that but can't be bothered so will just leave you to ponder in case something clicks
  14. Crump was already coasting at that point, consolidated in the next two and got the sun lounger out for the remainder when Andersen also started to tail off. Whether he'd have beaten Crump over the full series I doubt, but he might. Crump's record in the SGP suggests you're barking but entitled to your opinion.
  15. The track hasn't produced anything like that for the previous 6 meeting though, hence the drop off of people rather than increase that last nights racing, decent presentation, along with better rider interaction (ie doing victory laps as they did last night usually, not all!) deserves. Given that April and May are traditionally our busy home months and for the rest of the season we're back to feast but mainly famine in terms of fixtures then Buster and co will probably need to take the hit this year and build as best they can for the rest of the season and start of 2020 with last night as the benchmark, knowing that it can be done. The issue with the stand appears the same as it was this time last year. This probably explains it.
  16. I doubt that it's a surprise to any long term Panther fans that Chapman isn't making anything if true. The EoES and speedway sucks cash, always has, always will. No way could they close the grandstand and I doubt the EoES would let them charge extra after nearly 50 years, plus it would be difficul to administer and almost impossible to police. Added to that, they'd lose more fans than any charge would make up for IMO.
  17. I've been saying same as everyone else but also adding that it wasn't that bad that it couldn't easily be fixed. A bit drier and lack of regular grading to allow the dirt line to build up was all that was needed tonight, plus Andersen rolling back the years; especially doing a Sayfutdinov in heat 15. I also said that the first couple of meetings were run efficiently and we were off home in very good time so please do keep up. One swallow doesn't make a summer but as long as you're happy scoring a couple bonus points as chair of the Buster fan club then that made the evening doubly worthwhile for those of us present!
  18. Lets face it, what's the point of him riding there? Those days are gone. Has been a great rider but bread and butter on the track that he loves must be the sensible option surely.
  19. I think that it'll improve but with all of the other things going on and a somewhat uninspiring team it's a change that wasn't really helpful at this time. If Holder can pop out the start early doors I could see another track record, that'll go down like a lead balloon
  20. Problem being that at the EoES in 2019 if you're not in the mix after 30 yards then you're giving a 100% in 4th and staying there.
  21. You could say that: Heat 03: King, Bellego, Wright, Barker (1-5) (4-14) 57.4 NEW TRACK RECORD
  22. With the question out there so early I think that what they report will be the reality on this occasion.
  23. Yes. The bloke who has taken over the unwanted pre-meeting mic is somehow worse than the named person. Just like Maybot's boomerang WA (know that you love that reference Rodders ), that's some trick
  24. Which is exactly why we're at the bottom and still falling.
