  1. That's because you haven't been a Panthers fan for the last decade. We hear that every year when it's gone pear shaped and the only realistic hope is that the calculator will still give the answer you need for the press release. Does that clarify the thought process?
  2. I know. I understood what you were saying, just thought that I'd help matey out
  3. Same old? Don't know most or where they came from - most of the same old are nowhere to be seen these days. These are a new breed of second tier moaners The hardcore would turn up on the whole to keep the wheels ticking over but there are less of them nowdays, speedway isn't attracting new fans to replace those hardcore who no longer attend for whatever reason and people have many more options to spend there pennies on these days. With an "it was ok in the good old days" philosophy, the decline will continue until we're all NL.
  4. Certainly since Darren Fletcher left. To be fair though, they do get them out pretty sharpish now after heat 14 even if the communication is sometimes lacking.
  5. I don't mind saying that I was wrong on this occasion. Credit where it's due, that was a decent racing track without any dust. Not many places would be able to say that after 2 days of 30 degrees and a 5pm start. Very efficiently run as well, apart from guess the line-up in heat 7. How difficult is it to tell the punters (before riders are sitting at the tapes) that it's Bacon and not Hall coming out in this race
  6. Not saying a great deal tbh. Only still in post because the rest of her party are incompetent and the Tories can't risk getting rid of her.
  7. Not at 5pm on a hot Sunday it isn't. It'll soon be a one line gating competition.
  8. The race to the bottom that has been going on for years has just been dressed up as a restructure. It would have been easier to efficiently run the existing system but that's another story: "Promoters feel this dramatic revamp was necessary in a financially challenging climate – and whilst chairman Keith Chapman admits there is an element of cost cutting there is plenty for fans and sponsors to be excited about." I can't say that there's too much excitement about, and British Speedway has less relevance and identity now than I can ever remember. Basically it's still work in progress though so it might turn around but we haven't bottomed out yet and this'll not be the last revamp.
  9. If Bridger isn't fit enough for his own patch 24 hours earlier then you wouldn't expect him to return for this, but who knows? Weather ok now which is irrelevant, but more importantly the forecast is for a fine, sometimes sunny, day.
  10. Strange choice of words indeed! As for Bridger it says "Another ex-Panthers rider, Lewis Bridger, is expected to be passed fit following an injury." - so hopefully that's not misinformation.
  11. Riders and clubs have their own agenda and priorities. Riders can usually get to where they really want to be, as has been shown enough times.
  12. Ever though of trying club websites? You could do it in one hit rather than spending time posting and then coming back here. Scunthorpe gives the correct line up and if you visit Panthers website on matchday you'll get an Morecambe & Wise style list of participants.
  13. Same policy never seemed or seems bother Poole so it's took us long enough to realise that sentiment wins you jack.
  14. I thought that it looked well wet, hence why it didn't take long to flood once the rain started. That was a deluge though to be fair. It would have been interesting to see how it would have ridden if the meeting had started. It could have been fine or have had riders shooting off towards the fence, we'll never know.
  15. Bank Holiday, Chris Harris, first meeting after the Newcastle stormer etc - never heard of a delayed start allowing people to get in. Happens all the time everywhere and the ref can only really go with it if it happens.
  16. Apart from a bit of drizzle, no significant rain has hit and it's dry so I'd say yes unless we're unlucky.
  17. You'll get used to it. He's good at leaving off the relevant bit of detail.
  18. Well it's looking like the rain will arrive about 2pm if not sooner (like now 🤔). Hopefully it's not 2 hours heavy and 1 light rain as showing because that'd be a challenge 🙁
  19. True, Panthers have traditionally done nothing or made pointless like for like changes. Rathbone is different in that respect.
  20. Fine at the moment and no significant rain overnight. Might be a bit different later which is hopefully only light or doesn't arrive at all.
  21. I'm sure that the management team all chip in. It's a collective decision without anyone specific at fault. "Swales insists the latest pair of arrivals leave Panthers in the enviable position of having been able to attract all of their first-choice targets." - 8/12/16 Swales added: “When myself, Ged Rathbone and Carl Johnson first sat down as a management team a few weeks ago, this is the team we wanted to put together.
  22. I agree, and if Taps could make the break last 5 months then that'd be good. Hopefully the holiday will result in its traditional mix of good food and violent stomach cramp
  23. I wouldn't take the quote too literally, it was clearly reactionary. Why go to all that hassle when you can ride at home anyway.
