  1. Met office says possible light rain from 7 but from now to then it's fine and dry, so more chance of that blowing over and fine all the way
  2. So there is nobody standing at the back and there wasn't during the meeting? Anyone who might seem to be was standing from a seating position or just unfortunately caught on the way out or back in. Thanks for clearing that up, I'll have a closer look during future meetings.
  3. seems to be people standing at the back here.
  4. 2200 free seats. Plenty of space, just choose your location and sit.
  5. Oh good, our tractor driving friend has got a new bone for the rest of the season. He'll not let the bugger go y'know
  6. I'd say that they were ok but no more than that. I don't want 60-30 but do want to see the majority of race winners by my team which usually results in a win. As you know though, I'm a complete entertainment package person, and relevant, efficient, appropriate communications are also important. 15 mins on track is only a small part of the couple of hours. Having said that, it was worth the effort. It didn't matter that there wasn't much on the meeting. Riders want to win races and earn irrespective, they don't care that it was a dead rubber.
  7. Thought that we'd lost you for good young lady but was a pleasant surprise to see populate your seats once again, At current attendance rate, see you in 2018 Fortunately you missed the National Anthem year (please be upstanding it's the right thing to do), and Rathbone and helpers are turning the place round after several seasons when it was well on the slide. All we need is more people turning up. Perhaps jim3751 can do a few local roadshows with his alternative enthusiasm.
  8. Reasonably entertaining on track, but classics as a fact. You been sniffing methanol again Dick?
  9. Think that you're a bit lost there in your own self importance. I'm not fishing for anything, just disappointed that the deed appears to be on the cards that consigns us to where we are after a gloriously wasted opportunity. I can also appreciate our situation and Rathbone's logic, even though it doesn't excite me. Time will tell if enough paying punters have the alternative view. My guess would be that it'll tick along as it is for the time being anyway. You should get out more. It's much better to have Craig Cook than not have Craig Cook isn't It? That's the easiest question I can come up with that I think that you'll understand
  10. Quite easy to gloss over something so significant isn't it
  11. A kick in the nuts for all of those who rubbish our looney friend as their inside information is once again ahead of the game and broken in the style of Porsing's manager, thereby forcing the press release Rathbone said: "I have a deal in place with Readypower to become sole owner of the club at the end of this season" peterboroughpanthers/news - May 12
  12. Certainly better than being a Merchant Banker like yourself, and well done for returning the thread to the playgound after it had got back on track so to speak
  13. With that logic you're probably more in need than jenga.
  14. Oh, just seen that the northern oracle likes that as well. Always good news to see a post devalued further
  15. Too difficult a question, sorry Think you mean Poole's main sponsor. Anyway, that would signal the end of a gloriously wasted opportunity for the club, promised great times ahead from our position, at the time of the Horton buyout, as one of the biggest EL clubs in the country.
  16. So bearing in mind what you say has been Peterborough's problem for 14 years, what exactly is the point? We already know that, as do the last 4 promoters who have tried their luck at the EoES, so it's either wind up or ill judged given our recent history.
  17. The occasional Sunday is ok if the weather's nice but can take it or leave it now. Are you on a wind up.
  18. Considering the events of 2010 and the threat of closure a couple of times since without too much apparent concern from those up top I'd say that British Speedway would muddle on through regardless. As for badmouthing, there was none until the new breed arrived in 2002. We were primary users of the EoES and felt valued. Friday night was speedway night without exception and it was great. Now we have as and when speedway, have been through several promotions, fixture problems, financial disasters and BSPA rulings all making life extremely difficult but we need to look closer to home
  19. You can get medication for those voices in your head.
  20. Which of course was all known beforehand anyway.
  21. I knew that was on but never twigged that it was the same day. An excellent opportunity to showcase our product to what should be a receptive audience, but always unlikely to happen (beggars belief that speedway used to once run at the EoE Show, Expo Steam, Motorhome Show etc). I wonder what tipped the scales. Hopefully Ged will report that the PA in the stand is crap and they'll fix that for us
  22. Just transpose that to next week - bet you've not spotted that? Just spotted that it's off Always good to get yourself sorted asap so you can see Hansen's logic. However, he said the problem is that we'd never asked, so if we showed some interest then you could have trouble saying the same next year.
  23. Wondered what the hold up was? May I suggest an improvement to the presentation in that Craig Saul ditches the mic and does Flag semaphore from the centre green for those paying punters sitting in the stand. He could stay out there to give the pre heat details, results & times. Just a thought
