  1. So bearing in mind what you say has been Peterborough's problem for 14 years, what exactly is the point? We already know that, as do the last 4 promoters who have tried their luck at the EoES, so it's either wind up or ill judged given our recent history.
  2. The occasional Sunday is ok if the weather's nice but can take it or leave it now. Are you on a wind up.
  3. Considering the events of 2010 and the threat of closure a couple of times since without too much apparent concern from those up top I'd say that British Speedway would muddle on through regardless. As for badmouthing, there was none until the new breed arrived in 2002. We were primary users of the EoES and felt valued. Friday night was speedway night without exception and it was great. Now we have as and when speedway, have been through several promotions, fixture problems, financial disasters and BSPA rulings all making life extremely difficult but we need to look closer to home
  4. You can get medication for those voices in your head.
  5. Which of course was all known beforehand anyway.
  6. I knew that was on but never twigged that it was the same day. An excellent opportunity to showcase our product to what should be a receptive audience, but always unlikely to happen (beggars belief that speedway used to once run at the EoE Show, Expo Steam, Motorhome Show etc). I wonder what tipped the scales. Hopefully Ged will report that the PA in the stand is crap and they'll fix that for us
  7. Just transpose that to next week - bet you've not spotted that? Just spotted that it's off Always good to get yourself sorted asap so you can see Hansen's logic. However, he said the problem is that we'd never asked, so if we showed some interest then you could have trouble saying the same next year.
  8. Wondered what the hold up was? May I suggest an improvement to the presentation in that Craig Saul ditches the mic and does Flag semaphore from the centre green for those paying punters sitting in the stand. He could stay out there to give the pre heat details, results & times. Just a thought
  9. If they've got the big water truck that chucks out a good dose then it's not too hard. If it's the crop sprayer that dries as quick as it damps the surface then you could be right.
  10. You've been looking at the big events in Ipswich pages for ideas haven't you
  11. It just needs to say any day with a Y in it. We need to run when the EoES give us dates, If that was 4 different days in a month the so be it. Why?
  12. And I was counting over the whole season (and it's still 50/50 if you want to pick this moment in time anyway) when we have more Fridays and will continue to do so I'd guess as long as we run at the EoES. Changing official raceday half way through the season for convenience would probably open a whole can of worms.
  13. Another one who hasn't actually looked at the fixture list. Do the days count and look at what's reserved. Badly. Instead of putting out the fire at source with a cup of water and sensible decision making and reasoning, they did what they do best and threw a litre of petrol on it (Dope would have been more appropriate terminology I suppose).
  14. You do your job well. There are always two sides to a story but you put forward a good case on the issues.
  15. Looking at how and what you write I doubt that you and education ever crossed paths.
  16. Just the PL version of stevebrum. Losing brum is the only benefit of a PL thread but then pops up his understudy.
  17. I'm sure that his manager will post something to clarify the situation and explain where it went wrong.
  18. Hopefully he's nicked the roving mic as a souvenir.
  19. Owning the place is a big plus and makes a lot of difference. Take what you have, enjoy it and be careful what you wish or you could be that visiting team before you know it
  20. Speedway's a Vanarama product with similar crowd levels though. Until that finance and hard work is put into the overall product nationally then locally it'll soon wear thin with those currently putting the money and effort in. Looking at the Glasgow website I thought that it looked very much like the start of the RF era at Peterborough. Facebook, Twitter, Tiger's TV, online shop, Red Alert news updates and even an App thingy. It all sounds very familiar.
  21. I'm sure that they think like that anyway but stadium/rider availabity must make it rather difficult these days. Not impossible but plenty of variables to put a spanner in the works. Do ice hockey players play for anyone else (either inside or outside of the UK) and all live in this country.
