  1. Very many thanks for that Laurence, I searched and searched until the 'Boss' told me I was spending to much time on the computer, and that the lawn was getting longer by the hour. I offered her some weed killer, but that wasn't the response she wanted!!! Seriously though, I know you're doing a fantastic job at making results of these junior meetings public knowledge, but it's just a shame that each club who stages a meeting doesn't do likewise. I know, before you say it, my own club doesn't bother unless I post the details. Anyway, good one mate, I really appreciate it, but I think you know that anyway. Regards Mike
  2. Once again a great posting, thank you very much indeed.
  3. Hi Laurence, The only results I've come across thus far are those at King's Lynn (3/7) & Stoke (13/7). Do you have the scorers, date and venue of the third meeting that you could let me have please. Thank You. Mike
  4. Do you reckon the full details will eventually reach you?
  5. Did this meeting ever take place, as I can't find scorers or heat details anywhere?
  6. Many thanks for that Tsunami, it's much appreciated. I can only hope that someone else as kind as you can come up with the remaining answers. Quite why these Northern Junior League results and details are kept such a secret I just don't understand, the Midland Development League don't hide away like this leaguer seems to. Thanks once again.
  7. This is what I believe to be the result from Workington on Saturday night. WORKINGTON 17 1. Tommy Fenwick 3-3-3 = 9 2. Ryan MacDonald 2*-3-2* = 7+2 3. Stefan Farnaby 1-N = 1 NEWCASTLE 6 1. Kevin Keay R-2 = 2 2. Luke Ruddick 1-2-1 = 4 3. Ben Basford 0-FD-FD = 0 1) Fenwick, MacDonald, Ruddick, Keay (Ret) 5-1, 5-1 69.2 2) MacDonald, Ruddick, Farnaby, Basford 4-2, 9-3 69.1 3) Fenwick, Keay, Basford (FD), Farnaby (NS) 3-2, 12-5 Race Awarded 4) Fenwick, MacDonald, Ruddick, Basford (FD) 5-1, 17-6 Race Awarded Because results like I've shown above are so ridiculously hard to find for the Northern Junior League, I wondered if there is any supporter or official out there, that could provide the same sort of information for the following meetings please, that is if they've taken place yet. Thank You. Newcastle v Redcar (was originally scheduled for the August 11) Newcastle v Workington (August 25) (Also what date did Newcastle stage their round of the NJL Grand Prix, won by Liam Carr. Redcar v Newcastle (was originally scheduled for July 25) Northern Open Championship at Redcar (originally scheduled for August 1)
  8. On a blistering hot afternoon, these youngsters took to track in what proved to be a most enthrawling race-meeting. These young men no know fear, and left the very large crowd gasping at their almost every move. Long gone are the days when you can say that kids and riders that compete in Amateur Meetings are little more than wobblers. They show a maturity way beyond their years, and are a real credit to Neil Vatcher and Phil Morris who are guiding them along their path to hopeful and eventual stardom, not forgetting the blood, sweat and tears that their parents go through too. Each and every young rider on show looked and has the ability to go all the way, with Masters Bickley, Stead, Brennan & Flint looking particularly impressive yesterday, and were worth their places in the Grand Final. On another day, it could just have easily been any of the other competitors grabbing the limelight, because that's how good each and every one of them are. Harry McGurk suffered a terrifying looking accident in Heat 3, and many thought that was the end of his afternoon, but after some treatment, he shrugged his shoulders, waved to the very appreciative crowd, and came out for the re-run taking second place. Poor Jolyon West encountered some awful machinery problems in his first couple of races, and his centre-green antics had the whole crowd laughing and cheering, completely oblivious to the fact that there was a race still taking place. He punched his machine, he punched the floor, he punched his head, he danced, he probably swore under his helmet, but wouldn't admit that to Mum & Dad of course!! and didn't just about everything you'd expect to see at the theatre in a good variety show. Absolutely marvellous. If you've never seen a meeting of this type and are in a position to do so, then I really do urge you to go along to Iwade on the 22nd September at midday for the final round of the British Youth Championship in both 250cc and 500cc classes, plus they'll be supported by the youngsters on their 125cc machines. I for one can't wait for this meeting to come around, and I hope a lot of you will be able to make the journey too. The result were: - 1. Tom Brennan 3-2-R-3 = 8 2. Leon Flint FD-3-3-2 = 8 3. Sam Stead 2-3-3-2 = 10 4. Kyle Bickley 3-3-3-3 = 12 5. Kieran Douglas 1-1-2-2 = 6 6. Kai Hubbard 2-1-2-3 = 8 7. Harry McGurk 2-0-1-1 = 4 8. Harry Jones 0-1-1-0 = 2 9. Henry Atkins 1-2-1-R = 4 10. Jolyon West R-R-3-2 = 5 11. Macauley Leek 1-0-2-1 = 4 12. 10. Will e-mail you later today Phil with all the results. If you need anything further, mail me back.
  11. Despite the score, I found this meeting to be most enjoyable. The British Youth 125cc Championship was extremely entertaining and congratulations to Kyle Bickley on his deserved victory. Glad also that Harry McGurk escaped his terrifying experience without injury, The antics of Jolyon West following his bike failure in Heat 6 had the crowd roaring with laughter. Simply superb entertainment young men, you were all a credit to the occasion.
  12. This afternoon saw the Norfolk Arena witness one of the most exciting Dragons Meetings in a very long time, yet at the same time one of the most bizarre meetings ever from a scoring point of view. If you were one of thwe named 'Guest Riders', then you didn't necessarily score what you scored!! Confused, well so were all of us in the box, but somehow we got there, and at the end of the day agreed with the figures that the organisers had come up. To try and explain a little more, if you were a 'Guest Rider' in the Rayleigh v West Ham meeting, then you had the option of starting at the gate with the other riders, or going off a 15-metre handicap. If you went off 15-metres, then you kept whatever points you scored (i.e. second – 2-points). However, if you opted to go from the gate, then you had a point deducted from your score, so second place would only earn you a single point. Rules were different in the Southampton v Crewe meeting in as much that all races, other than disqualifications for any reason, went from the gate in a conventional manner. However, if you were one of the 'Guest Riders', then you haa point added to whatever you had scored (i.e. last place still earned you one point). I told you it was a bizarre system, and as you'll see from the details that are about to follow, it threw up some very strange heat results. RAYLEIGH 52 1. Martin Pearce 2*-2-1-3-0 = 8+1 2. 13. Thanks for your offer Martin, I'll come a runnin' if I need you. Trying to collect a complete set of results for these junior leagues is an absolute nightmare, with some clubs producing little or no information, yet others like yourselves to name but one, are brilliant. The ridiculous thing is that someone other than the referees must have scorers and heat details from every meeting, because they eventually appear in Peter Oakes Yearbook. It's just a pity that they can't be shared with the people who stand on the terraces and watch these lads race, and want to know how they're doing when riding at other venues. I don't know why I bother really........well I guess I do, it's because I care, it's just a pity that those in the know don't.
  14. Okay thanks, I'll check those and see where I go from there. It's heat details I need, so that I can try and build riders averages etc., up, so hopefully they will provide that info.
  15. 'tis alright mate. Looking at the league table on the BSPA website, I'm a mile apart, so there's obviously match results that have never been published in their results section, or here on the forum. Why oh why don't clubs take this league more seriously? People moan because this country never produces a World Champion, yet when there is a competition in place such as this, and others, to try and bring youngsters on to one day maybe realise that dream, it's treated with such unimportance.

  17. It was an excellent meeting last night, one enjoyed by all.......I think!!
  18. I don't like coming onto public forums, especially Facebook, where the world and his friend can read everybody's business, but I can't let certain happenings at King's Lynn Speedway last night go unmentioned either. TRACK SHOP: I took more flack and abuse than is acceptable due to the continuing lack of merchandise for Robert Lambert. I know that I advised you at the previous meeting that some items would be available last night, which in the case of photos, were posted to me, but didn't arrive prior to me leaving for the stadium. The delay over this particular riders merchandise is due solely to the fact that when the photographer has been in attendance, Robert hasn't until recently, so it's just one of those things. Plus there have been some serious family problems involving both the company I represent and myself with regards to illness, that have had to take priority over speedway, and I make no apologies over that. With regards to any other merchandise requested, I had sold out at the point that you requested it. I don't sit there and lie my back teeth off as a cover up, which was suggested by one irate gentleman, I have no need to, I'm just being employed to work for a company that's not part and parcel of King's Lynn Speedway Club. To the person who told me that I could stick my second-rate merchandise up my a**e purely because I didn't have a Lewis Kerr pen he could purchase, at what he described a rip-off price (£1), then my thoughts to you sir, as you tripped over the step leaving the shop, were that you'd probably have had more room up yours. Finally on this topic, to the Kent supporter who also directed some swear words at me because I didn't have any items of Ben Morley, I'll say once again, “Can you buy King's Lynn merchandise in your track shop at Central Park Stadium”, no of course you can't, so why should you think you ought to be able to buy Kent riders stuff at the Norfolk Arena. It was a most childish attitude. PROGRAMMES: Once again, an unreasonable amount of dissent shown towards me because I didn't have any of last nights race-sheets for sale, when the ticket office had run out. I think you nearly all know that I have never sold programmes for the club, and that they've always been available through the clubs own employees. Yes you are quite right, I do write the visitors profile, and present a quiz page in the Elite League programme, but that's where my working connection starts and ends with King's Lynn Speedway. I will also stress that I spend a few hours a week in doing those particular tasks completely free of charge for the club, and like you, I pay 50p for my race-sheet at a 'Young Stars' meeting. I don't get a free copy, but if I did, surely I would have earnt it!! Last night was an exception, because the crowd was far larger than normal, and whilst I don't know, I can only assume that the normal amount of race-sheets were printed to start with. I do know that a reprint was done, and if you couldn't be bothered to walk back to the ticket office to buy one, then that can hardly be described as my fault can it?

  20. Hi Kelvin, yes I do realise that, it's just like to record them in my own personal records. Laurence can't find his programme at the moment, but continues to search......I think!!! Regards Mike
  21. Does anybody have the points scorers and heat details from the MDL Grand Prix that was abandoned at Coventry on the 7th June please?
  22. Actually 'kevcfc' I don't really see how the information can be correct, whoever's put it on there. The result has now been loaded onto the BSPA website, and shows that Glyn Picken scored 4-points from 4-rides. He suffered a 2-minute disqualification in two out of the four heats, and they don't count as rides, so the records show 4-points from 2-rides!! Once again thanks for your time and trouble.
  23. The team line-ups are: - KING'S LYNN: 1) Robert Lambert 2) Lewis Rose 3) Jake Knight 4) Darren Mallett 5) Lewis Kerr 6) Shane Waldron 7) Shane Hazelden KENT: 1) Steve Boxall 2) Connor Coles 3) David Mason 4) Benji Compton 5) Ben Morley 6) Adam Kirby 7) Jack Kingston
