Whilst most of Britain was enjoying an Indian Summer, Kent was unfortunately chilly, damp and very grey. But one thing we did have was hot racing, and what a ray of sunshine these lads all proved to be. Connor Mountain had an outstanding meeting, but rider of the afternoon had to be Ethan Spiller, who in his class, was a cut above anyone else. With brother Daniel also looking impressive in the 500cc Class, which ever club eventually captures the signature of these two lads, will have got probable world class assets on their books. This is always my favourite speedway meeting of the season at any level of racing, and at this particular venue, and it will be a shame if this turns out to be the final time it's staged at Iwade due to the air fence requirements for 2014. Tomorrow affords the 'Young Stars' fans their opportunity to see this exciting young team hopefully take another step in cementing the runners-up spot in the National League, by taking on and beating a very formidable looking Stoke outfit. Whilst the play-off place looks secure, Mildenhall are just a solitary point behind us, and it would be nice to finish above them in the table, if for no other reason than they are our local rivals. After tomorrow, we have just one home league fixture with Dudley to come, and as they've only been beaten once all season, this might possibly be a bit of a banana skin for us, therefore making victory against the 'Easy Rider Potters' absolutely imperative. If you're stuck for something to do tomorrow folks, the Norfolk Arena is hosting a Southern Track Riders meeting, starting at midday. Racing is always fast and furious, with approximately 50-heats usually on offer, and as one race finishes, the riders are coming out for the next one, so there's no hanging about like we get in professional meetings. Admission is FREE, and programmes (not just a race-sheet) are available, with an invitation to donate £1 to the clubs funds in exchange. The weather forecast is good, so hope to see you there.
