There's no denying that he's the man you need on your side when the chips are down, proved it several times this season -

McGurk being embarrassed at this level. Decent heat leader at NDL level but a step too soon moving up this season. -

Vissing baulked Bailey in every turn there, never seems to have much awareness of where his team mates are. -
Workington v Recar 04/05/24 3pm koc 2nd leg

Got to have sympathy for the promoters in that sort of situation when you've got riders from both teams travelling from all over the country and away supporters coming over as well. But it can turn into a bit of a "going through the motions" just to get the meeting completed and crossed off the calendar. -

Sorry Workington speedway, got as far as ASDA driving down, wipers on constant to clear the drizzle, decided against it and went home. Memories of watching several meetings at Derwent Park in poor conditions, races essentially decided coming out of the first/second bend and then a follow-my-leader procession with riders well separated and more occupied with pulling tear-offs than racing. Track may well have been rideable but not much enjoyment or entertainment for riders or fans alike in those conditions. -

Nothing showing on the rain radar but it's overcast and steady light rain in Seaton at the moment about a mile away from the track -

Eating humble pie tonight after commenting on the reserves situation on Friday, Sam and Celina showing they can both do it when the chips are down, hope Ant is ok. Workington already had a good team in their 1-5, but have the makings of a very good team if improvements continue. -
Redcar v Workington: (KO cup QF, 1st Leg); 26/4/24

Reality bites, Workington can't afford just one of their 1-5 having an off day when they're carrying the reserves, need at least three race wins from them all every meeting to have a chance -

Watched for first time on BSN stream, twelve quid but well worth it with a couple of pints for company. Well done to all riders, track looked a bit rough early doors but got better later on, could've been more comfortable but for the tape touch and one or two mechanical gremlins. Heat leaders all performed, as did Tate and Ant (they were just unlucky that there scores didn't reflect their efforts), Celina looked on pace, still doubts about Sam at this level though. -
Workington v Berwick Border Trophy 31/03/24 3pm
Blue Groove replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I know it's early days, but first impressions: Claus - still got it Tate and Antii - both excellent today even first time out, once they get settled in I'd expect them to be the heat leaders with Claus Cook and Batchelor - best days are in the past but will still do a job Celine and Sam - looking like the weak point, but let's give them a chance and see how they do against teams with similar level reserves. Neither were going to challenge Hodder and Celine had a good second ride to beat Borke.
