Somerset V Workington Koc 5 July

So Nick Morris didn't blast round turns 1 and 2 in heat 15 to book our place in the next round? -

Lady luck - with Chris Mills plowing Damian Koppe into the start line fence? The only lady luck in that is that no one was injured. You couldn't of caught the Rebels at a better time with Alex and Kyle looking tentative whilst returning from injury, and you failed. -

Just when you thought we were all but gone and out... the Premier League's answer to Ward and Holder come out with that in heat 15. Simply stunning stuff - a proper cup tie. This team just keeps on amazing me - after last weeks heroics at Rye House to come a way from that with a point, our fairly recent wins at Leicester and Scunthorpe, this has the makings of being something special. -

Cynic indeed - it was plan to see Nick dropped the clutch, only to stop himself, as the tapes flew up leaving him stranded. He went straight for the outside and had to lay it down to avoid Doolan. A staggering result for the Rebels, still can't believe we came home with a point which made the journey all that bit sweeter. The celebrations was like we had won the league.. but that will be in October -
Rebels V Diamonds Fri 28th June

Was going to add my own views on last nights match but Willowman, EnglishRoundabout and Oldtimer have already done it for me - a superb meeting underlining everything great about speedway. It had the lows, the highs, a few crashes, breathtaking racing and the team that was all but dead and out coming back with a heroic result. Onto Rye today, and if we can get anywhere near that level of performance we will take some stopping. -

God knows, but this was some 5 years ago so I think all is forgiven now. -

Indeed it was mate, I seem to remember Brent Werner scoring a hat full for us down at reserve after they had gone round before the meeting with buckets picking up all the scrap steel off the stock cars! -

Always enjoyed my previous visits, think my last visit must be 2010 now? Either way, think it's going to be a close one as you say. Only been there once, but remember going back for seconds when I was there -

Pretty poor guest by all accounts - certainly looking forward to this one, been a few years since I was last at Rye... Is the fish and chips still any good?! -

You going Saturday? -
100% agree - a 3 point rider should start the year under no real pressure other than to mantain his average, but that pressure was somewhat increased by having two assessed 5 point riders.
-
And people question why British riders are at the standard that they are - with an attitude like that it's no wonder why. Speedway is a ruthless sport and points make prizes, if Jake wasn't upto his job in the Sheffield side for whatever reason then it's not rocket science that he is going to be moved on. The right attitude after this would be to take one step back, to take two steps forward and be willing to come back harder than ever - but just throwing the towel in is a poor show.
-
A threat? Are you for real? You're complete rubbish has reached an all time high now too - because I (and many others) disagree with you, we have to keep stum. Get over yourself.
-
My point exactly - instead of idiots coming on with their latest hatreds for Somerset riders, used to Gathercole, wasn't it Vissing last year and now Alsx this year. Hopefully young Stefan isn't too badly hurt as he's started to come good and be abit of a trump card at reserve for us.

You really are a helmet aren't you? I wasn't there last night and can now only wish that I was for looks like another inspired away win for the 2013 Rebels, and all you can do in your second sentence is belittle Alex Davies who has been nothing short of supeb for us this year? Nick Morris, an absolute demon of a performance and fair play to him with stunning back up from Doyley and Josh - each and every Rebel deserve praise for every single point they added to the overall cause last night... Onwards And upwards!!

I always love this line when it crops up amongst speedway supporters - "They risk their life and limb for our entertainment" ... No they don't, they risk their life potentially for a healthy wage packet at the end of the week. Nobody forced them into doing this job as their way of living - otherwise if it's just for our entertainment, they won't mind turning up and riding for nothing next week will they. Don't forget either that me, and every other person in the stadium last night that paid to get in are paying their wages. Without any fans, they better start looking for a new job. The fans are the most important position in any club. No fans = No speedway. Not really the sort of thing that's going to be slapped over the local sports pages in the papers I'd have thought, is it?

Totally agree with Willowman - after the extensive track work why was the track not trialled by a few riders? I also believe if the incident didnt happen in hear 2, racing would of continued on and on. The track was no way at fault for that incident also, completely over the top from Ashley Morris, and after the reports from Sunday it does make you wonder somewhat. Posted some of my views on the Somerset Facebook page - what a difference a week makes Some people can try and sweep this under the carpet but I remember being at Birmingham in 2008 for the meeting that never was - this puts that to shame without doubt. I remember myself and many others who travelled up that night giving Birmingham a massively hard time over that, and I thoroughully expect Workington fans that travelled and any speedway fans in general to do the exact same to us now - shambles.

One of the worst crashes I've ever seen - do you remember when Gathercole and Frampton had a collision, and Frampton ended up near enough on the clubhouse patio after going up and over the fence? He got up, walked back to the pits and went on to complete a five ride maximum!
