  1. Sounds promising you would not notice the difference in the time
  2. It would appear that a GM out of the box cant be used and needs work on it to make it usable don't ask me why but that's what I have read
  3. they could actually do something and make rules to stop this but then that far to radical speedway and purge the sport of the dreaded tuners once and for all stem the income stream and they will disappear leaving the sport once and for all at league level
  4. Spot on I hate the current format for the reasons you state how many FTS riders have gone into main body of their teams Lewis sadly retired and IMO was one of the better FT riders just money saving nothing else .
  5. Some good points and I take on board the work load but have little sympathy IMO speedway is a short career 15 yrs being an average I would have thought therefore riders need to make hay while the sun shines .Many people would give their right arm fo half of what Tai has and if you don't like bullets don't become a "gun fighter" he did not fall into this sport but had been honed from a very early age .I am thrilled he has won a second title and truely hope many more will follow but don't moan or make excuses for the work as you are lucky enough to be paid for something you love doing which more than can be said for many of us .
  6. For change to happen something has to "give" prehaps there maybe a maket for them in the PL with the understanding that the new engines must used say in the PL in 2yrs time and the present engines would be phased out with the EL following suit 1yr later .This would allow everyone to adjust and the financial loss would be small if any and give the rocket ship tuners time to find new jobs or fight over the GP business.
  7. Just keep all those tuners away from it are we finally freeing the sport at least at league level of these parasites who bring nothing to the sport except unnecessary cost ,let Tai & co keep them in the Olsen circus .
  8. Could be that Stead may not start the season but ease himself back after such a big injury ,I have no info just a feeling he may need a little time and not come back( although some doubt he will return after two big injuries in as many years ) all guns blazing.I hope he returns fully fit and the rider he was but it is a big "ask" and after such along layoff may be more than a little rusty ,I would like to see Kurtz at no1 myself if i were in charge .
  9. I assume the answer is "SOD ALL" any promoter that is able keep afloat in this day and age is a winner for me , well done Mr Ford Poole an impressive outfit no question but i have every respect for the other 7 promoters as well.
  10. The man seems to know what it takes to run a speedway team could someone tell me how much they get for winning the league ? and off set this against the costs incurred in doing so or is just a matter of prestige .
  11. Well put could not agree more one day the penny may drop and the riders will think along the same lines but not holding my breath !!!!
  12. I take your point but IMO anyone who rides a s/way bike flat out in race conditions has Track craft we just need them to use it in other ways and as a sport must not let the tail "wag the dog".
  13. Maybe a cross section would be a better and more palatable solution to the problem with current/past promoters and riders plus other informed individuals such as Refs having an input on the running of the sport . We do need the views of current promoters to say what is the situation of the sport now and to allow informed dicisions to be made for the good of the sport not just on vested interests as would appear to happen now .If there was also input by non speedway parties as well this IMO would add balance to the whole process something that at the moment is sadly lacking .
  14. Very well put I have always believed that speedway should be about rider's skills not the deepest pockets ,league racing should by and large have fixed costs thus everyone knowing where they stand .
  15. Has to start from the NL upwards changes need to started at the bottom ,the arguement of the cost of changing machinery costing can't be allowed to log jam the process.IMO work up form NL to the PL and eventually the EL and just leave the GP boys to their devices if they want to waste thousands on rocket ships so be it
  16. Why on earth should Greg retire he shows no signs of slowing down quite the contrary in fact but then it is the old issue with s/way his DOB ,he may be old and boring or just that good he makes it look easy depends on your point of view.
  17. Good point this country is obsessed with football at the expense of many other sports incuding s/way
  18. Well said cut down on GP's and forget one night a week speedway not practical for start I am not bothered whether I watch a GP riders or a PL riders as long as there is close racing and of reasonable standard .
  19. I think your spot on here with regard to Tai letting Greg win the final one bad GP( for Tai )and the pressure would be on ,can't knock anyone riding with their head and looking at the bigger picture .
  20. You are right I just want the racing to be about the riders not the tuners as much as possible .
  21. I never said PK was a GP rider merely that he had throttle control that you say most of the other riders in the world except Tai and Greg appear not to have Tai was in a class of his own last night I would just like to see him against more equal tuned bikes other than Greg ,I want him to be Champ but by half wheel not half a lap.
  22. More about who's engine and how it is prepared than the make I believe he tunes engines that are encased in a GM !
