  1. Not sure on BWD but wasn't he on a 28 day injury replacement & did not complete enough meetings for a real average, hence when he "signed" for Peterborough a PL average converted was applied.
  2. In 2018, he is/was riding in both leagues so the average applying to that league counts. A recent average only applies if he is riding in 1 league and the conversion rate is applied.
  3. As for the Coventry match, Butcher fell in his 1st ride took his 2nd & 3rd & was replaced in his 4th. If you know different to the updates & there is nothing on your own website report to say there was an injury. next???
  4. Eastbourne match Heat 14: Flint, Edwards, Walker, Dugard 4-2 (49-35) 62.41 Line Up: Walker, Butcher Flint, Edwards, Dugard Comments: Flint replaces Butcher. Flint gated with Eagles behind but Walker steamed past both of them round the outside. He drew up alongside Flint who i dont think realised it was his team mate and shut door on him which enabled Edwards to come through to 2nd. 5. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/17842/coventry-nt-30-05-2018 http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/17879/eastbourne-nl-06-2018?page=1 Flint, in other meetings, has taken extra rides through IRR, r/r or heat 15 but these 2 were reserve swaps!
  6. I thought there was a rule in place where a rider who finished the season with a team then not declared in the starting 7 the following year, could not return to that club. I cannot remember ever being applied or was it with the discretion of the MC or best interest of the sport.
  7. Danny Phillips is a difficult rider to replace this year because of how ours & other teams have been made. Danny is in the same boat as Bickley who, in heat 2, are riding with & against riders with 4+ averages. Their next 2 programmed rides, they ride with a heat leader & against heat leaders & 2nd strings. We all hoped he would score similar to what Bailey did last year but I think he struggles getting involved & in the right place during the 1st 2 bends. After that he has the speed but needs more confidence when going out wide & in the dirt.
  8. Flint & Kemp decide a lot of meetings having sometimes 6 but mostly 7 rides
  9. At least we know Steve & Stefan will not be riding due to their absence in the list for the 4's at Redcar. A decent guest up to the limit of 7.51 is my preferred choice.
  10. We knew it would catch up with us soon & the warning signs were there last week against Newcastle. Too much being asked of our own riders & machines when others are not up to it. Is Rob now doing too much at the track to save a few pennies as he was in the tractor last week & yesterday & Graham Trollope's name has been removed from the programme as track curator. It is just my opinion as I did not think the track was moist enough as it dried out too much & we only had 1 track grade & no watering. In the clubhouse, later, the riders said they wanted a bit more dirt. taken from Albert's post; .........."Disappointing to lose... However the racing was again top notch and provided some great entertainment, despite the track being rather slick and dry. The track conditions probably played into Peterboros hands a little, i'd of put plenty dirt down and plenty of water on, we know certain Peterboro riders don't like a wet ERW!... Maybe it was prepared with tomorrows big dirt bike meeting in mind? " Don't think that the big dirt bike meeting had any bearing on the track prep for speedway as Rob was on the tractor at the end of the second half's racing. Note.........the dirt bike staff were noisy in the clubhouse afterwards as it was difficult to hear the after meeting talk show. Then again, Roger Westby is not the best of guys using a microphone.
  11. At a cost of our early season form. At the start of the season, we only had 3 riders doubling up/down. Steve at Belle Vue, Jake at Somerset & Danny for Coventry in the NL. Steve got his injury riding for us. Stefan was asked to cover for 28 days for Poole where he received his injury. Manzares got his injury in the SoN Race Off for the USA. Garrity got & still has an arm injury guesting at Belle Vue.
  12. Our management know what type of team we will have when all are back & that is why they have not made any changes. If we had made changes and when the riders are fit again they would be snapped up by others & hurt us because of their early season form. What works for one team might not work for others but Rob & Gail are keeping faith with our original 7.
  13. Congratulations on your win but at the moment, we are not a good side but a battling side with odds stacked against us. Injuries happen, regularly, in this sport but we are suffering more than others. We know, & so do others, that when we have a full team, others will suffer. Early in the season we were coping with losing Steve but now we are struggling with losing Stefan & Gino. When we had Stefan riding at no2 riding with & against better riders scoring 53 points from 24 rides, to me, is the rider we have missed the most. At home, using r/r has given us 11 points from 8 rides & away we used a guest in Summers who performed well. At the moment using r/r Garrity, Allen & the reserves take his rides. For our no1, our choice of guests, on paper, have not given us the scores we expected of them compared to what Stevie could have done as he started the season well for us & Belle Vue. We can see Phillips is trying, up against better riders than himself & coming back from his injuries of last year, he must be struggling with confidence as he is not getting wins & big scores in the NL either. I put it on the updates site that we needed to score 35 from our main 3, Schlein to score 10 & the meeting would be lost by the scores of the reserves. Garrity & Allen were trying all they could on the outside but could not pass with P'boro riding the right lines on a dry track. Your reserves did the business but I expected it to be Lambert & not Bacon. Your supporters were slating him last year & after a good meeting at Newcastle, they said if you get rid we'll have him. The same applies this year but we will take him as the options are limited for a 2-3 pointer as it seems most are struggling in the Championship with most riding at no6. All we can do is keep trying, keep getting behind the lads as pretty soon, when our walking wounded are back, teams will suffer the same fate as what P'boro did to us. If we need guests next week, at least there are more options with only one other meeting on Friday & Saturday.
  14. Please, do tell me which meetings we have cancelled because of our injury situation? Last year, the guest situation was caused through the amount of riders doubling up & this has been eased through the fixed night Premiership. Injuries, I know, do go with the territory, as we & others, have suffered in the past. This year there are plenty of free dates as posters are complaining of not enough regular speedway.
  15. Other teams are more helpful & not win at all costs as proved when we agreed to rearrange our meeting when Klindt, Bewley & BWD had GP qualifiers.
  16. I think options are limited for Manzares with the amount of fixtures on Friday as only Sheffield, Ipswich & Redcar not riding & we cannot use Kurtz again in a 7 day period. Premiership 4.3ish x conversion riders are nearly all Championship riders.
  17. Add to this that has been posted that "current" averages apply & Josh G has a current PL converted to 8.49 for the Championship. Any change made is "like for like" rider plus any amount remaining up to your 42.50 Declaration limit. If changing more than 1 rider, you do not add the averages together of said riders to make multiple changes.
  18. Another Scorpion riding well this season & snapped up by a Premiership team Belle Vue but only on a 28 day cover for Steve Worrall. Extra rides & extra pay should benefit the Scorpions if he can stay away from the injury jinx that is hitting us again.
  19. Yours is now the 2nd thread on this meeting, Tosh, as Dan has started most, recently.
  20. Dated 9th June https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/other-sport/scunthorpe-scorpions-steve-worrall-make-1657583 He knew he was not fully fit but did he answer yes to a request to ride in the British Final.
  21. Great news about Steve. I saw him the other week without his knee brace & yesterday without crutches. It did make me wonder with the late announcement of our team/guests if Steve would have been back yesterday.
  22. With Lindgren leading this heat & was doing well in others. It was just a bit more passion & will to win from our lads that never gave up.
  23. Max Clegg replaced Ellis Perks last year & he had an average over 4 (about 4.3 I think). It is in the initial Declaration where the over 4 applies.
  24. Howarth for Steve, r/r for Stefan & T Kurtz for Manzares is reported on twitter feed. https://twitter.com/SpeedwayScunny
