  1. Even with his kevlars down to his waist in the after meeting talks he looks heavy compared to the other lads.
  2. I think it is more to the fact that most Scorpion fans see his home form & after riding there previously 2 x 2nd places & 7 x 3rd places from 38 rides is not good enough. Plus, looking a little heavier than some of the other younger riders, whether it is muscle to protect his previous injuries, means he looks slow. Giving a 2pointer a go from the NL, similar to what Sheffield have done with Lawlor, could we look at Jenkins, Brennan or even Kemp as short term, he might be available to offers after his 16th birthday(11th Aug) just before the cut off date of the 12th. I think he is nailed on to be a Witch in 2019 but who knows with league set up & rules constantly changing every year.
  3. The difference will be the contrast of Jake Allen from big tracks to tight tracks. Confidence should be high, though, so let us hope we can keep it tight. A point would be a good result for me.
  4. I can not remember Poole doing anything & that was where he broke his leg.
  5. Taken from your newsroom ; Visiting Scorpions near full strength NEWS Thursday 2nd August 2018, 9:00am by Mike Hunter This week's Armadale visitors are Scunthorpe whose powerful team has been disrupted by injury for much of the season, but they are virtually at full strength to face the Staggs Bar Monarchs on Friday. Heat leaders Stevie Worrall and Jason Garrity are in the side along with Josh Auty, Jake Allen and Gino Manzares leaving only long-term injury victim Stefan Nielsen on the sidelines, and he is pretty well covered by rider replacement. Most Scorpion fans know that our biggest loss has been Stefan Nielsen as the way he started the season, r/r & most guests have not covered his scoring potential.
  6. Archie21. click on link https://twitter.com/SpeedwayScunny you can read any twitter post if not blocked but can not post replies. Shanes at 6 or 7? could be putting a lot of faith in Lawlor's 1st meeting at 7 if that is their way of thinking. Most teams have the best reserve at 7 although they can swap them whenever they want on the night.
  7. Would hope for it to be over watered so the Tigers bottle it in the conditions but I am afraid it should be a good race track. Hope we can keep it close & not bottle it towards the end like last time.
  8. After the Tai fiasco at the Gp, I cannot believe all the "not tuning on the fuel tap" by riders. Sorry, but it does not wash with me!
  9. Last year they dropped Sedgeman for Tungate to improve their home form as Tungate scores well at Belle Vue so it is just a way of trying to improve areas of weakness.
  10. In the NL he has a slightly worse record than Wood
  11. Why would Rob be rubbing his hands together? He has been one of your worst performers this season going from No1 to reserve. A guest will get you more points!
  12. WHAT!!!! Don't you mean ASK like you did before & we obliged.
  13. Thought you would be better asking Rob Godfrey as he is, supposedly, behind all the fixture changes.
  14. Have you read this weeks SS. It explains the action taken for Friday fixtures.
  15. at least it will keep the track staff busy sucking up the water into tankers for another dry spell

  17. Depends if it is on!!!!!! We had torrential rainfall yesterday & expect more today about 4pm but lasting longer. Check with track, forum & twitter for updates on whether meeting is on. We might just miss it or not get the worst or we might have a late start. It all depends if damage is done at the track.
  18. Ok, thanks as that might be a better option if traffic hold up are bad, get there around 6.45-7.00 ish & struggle parking.
  19. By parking outside, do you mean parking on Kirkmanshulme lane as have not noticed yellow lines or length of stay allowed.
  20. I wasn't sure about the Cinema/Bingo car parks if that's what you mean by North. When visited before, I thought the Pink Bank Lane was small or limited to permit holders but thank you for the advice.
  21. There also seems to be on going road works on the A628 Tintwistle towards M67. How bad is this as regards hold ups? I was thinking of stopping at the Bulls Head in Tintwistle for tea before continuing.
  22. Can any one advise me for easy parking & getting away as I am travelling with 2 elderly people where walking is limited. I have been before but we parked around the south side on Stanley Grove. I would(& my guests) appreciate somewhere closer. many thanks.
  23. I now wish we did not, gentlemanly, agree to postpone this meeting & rode on the 19th May when you had Klindt, Bewley & BWD missing & we only had Worrall. It would have stopped all the crap that has been posted this last month or more.
  24. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/18068/glasgow-championship-22-07-2018?page=1&scrollTo=363050 http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/86710-scorpions-v-glasgow-22718-500pm/&page=3 Our track has been voted "Track Of The Year" 3 times out of the last 5 or 6 years & generally serves up good racing
