  1. Glad you can keep up with the average situation as this year, rolling averages are based on a reduction of 2 meetings per month making averages for riders who have not ridden, like our own S Worrall, to change. The rolling averages in May was based on 30 meetings, in June it will be 28, in July 26 & so on as described in a teams 2018 statistics from the BSPA site. http://www.speedwaygb.co/peterborough18
  2. You could have a minimum of 2 British riders in the Premiership, 1 of which must be a reserve. You could then have 3 British riders in the Championship, 2 of which must be at reserve. The second highest averaged rider rides at 6 & may have 1 extra replacement ride. The lowest reserve rider rides at 7 & can take 2 extra rides. If r/r or IRR is in operation then the reserves can take 1 more ride. A good reserve should be there to assist the team rather than having the maximum 7 rides to win meetings.
  3. I am pretty sure Stefan's 5.53 average is from 2016 at Plymouth. He did not receive a new average in 2017 as he did not complete 2 meetings before his injury. He, therefore, had 2 averages in 2016 of which his EL(now Premiership) average takes priority.
  4. There are 3 meetings on Friday so choice of guests are limited for Steve or Stefan. The options could be Howarth for Steve & r/r for Stefan or r/r Steve & possibly Ellis/Covatti for Stefan with 7.51 available for his home meetings. Converted averages for Premiership riders are, also, available. Hoping that our other riders will have shaken off their knocks & injuries eased, my preferred option would be Howarth.
  5. No as I think he would use a current converted average of about 7.24
  6. It is not just Poole, though, that have assets/registrations & don't/won't use them. This year, the 1 over 8average rider for team building did not help but what about at the lower end. Can anyone post how many assets a club has to compare with others in the 2 divisions?
  7. As soon as they made the Championship only 20 meetings(10 home & away) plus Shield & KOC, they knew there would be a minimum of 14 matches for some teams. Due to the nature of the weather, and not just this year, they should have condensed the fixtures to have run between May & September. that is still about 22 weeks allowing for similar race nights, the notorious few meetings in July but riding in, hopefully, better weather.
  8. The way he walks all over his riders, then gives them the elbow, I would not think he will walk far.
  9. Kennett on a 5.27 Premiership average for a reason, he's on a downward slope. In Lyager, we saw glimpses of what he could do & since having a year & a half riding in other leagues against riders of a similar ability, he has done very well. Against the Polish leagues big boys, he is not starting many meetings & when he does, he is, maybe, just out of depth. He would be a good acquisition, again, for the Scorpions & should get a true average after a new 4H4A meetings covered. He would, also, take Stefan's place at no2 & ride with Steve when he returns.
  10. I, also, thought you were right but have found this in the 2018 regs. 16.2.7 The most recently established MA will be used. If a rider has an established MA in both the Premiership and Championship Leagues, established in the same season, that leagues MA will apply to that league .
  11. With Stefan now 4th in the averages, Garrity, Allen & reserves can take his rides but it is the issue of having a guest for Steve at 1 that could be the bigger issue. Losing another rider in a meeting could mess things up. Hoping that all the others are fit r/r for Steve & guest for Stefan might be a better option. Heavy rain forecast Friday so the meeting at Glasgow might not take place but lets see how our management think. There are a few meetings programmed for Friday so guests would be limited.
  12. A meeting can not be called off because of a seriously weak team due to injuries or European commitments unless agreed by the promotions, which we agreed to last Saturday. This has been cancelled because of the weather! https://twitter.com/SpeedwayScunny http://www.metcheck.com/WEATHER/now_and_next.asp?zipcode=scunthorpe&locationID=56905&lat=53.6&lon=-0.7
  13. After agreeing to your cancelation of last Saturdays meeting v the Scorpions as you would have had a weakened team & not a great choice of guests due to commitments elsewhere, the racing could have been sub standard for your supporters. If you want to see weakened teams & sub standard racing, all well & good, but, please, put away those rose tinted glasses.
  14. The forecast for today was intermittent showers from midnight last night, all the way trough to 3pm. After getting up this morning to find paths & roads wet through, the forecast proved to be true but hopeful that it was not too bad at the track. The rain has just got heavier 4 miles from the track & the forecast has changed. http://www.metcheck.com/WEATHER/now_and_next.asp?zipcode=scunthorpe&locationID=56905&lat=53.6&lon=-0.7
  15. changed your tune, again, after results at P'boro & Glasgow. Now your back to being a poor team after getting beat by Scunthorpe, even though you were missing Bewley & BWD, you still had the impressive Aarnio.
  16. Major blow to Stefan & the Scorpions. Get well soon. As the Scorpions are doing well, the riders are being snapped up to cover in the Premiership & do guest appearances. All well & good as it keeps them sharp and the extra money helps, but it can come at a cost.
  17. Just like Shaun, the one you have at Sheffield, our ex presenter.
  18. I would hope that all the riders would have kept localish, sort out their machine problems(engines & clutches, & get to the EWR for a spin to make sure all is ok. A break for tea then get psyched up for the "must win" meeting. Good luck lads.
  19. With the unfortunate bike problem for Allen, it maybe hit us a bit & the tide turned. Having your top 3 riders when dialled in at Sheffield, helps. Howarth in 10, Bjerre in 11, Wright in 12, Howarth & Bjerre in 13, Wright in 14 for r/r means that these 3 are not going to give many points away at the tail end of a meeting. We had our problems, machinery wise & I don't think you had many but you deserved the win putting the bikes in the right places when the racing was tight.
  20. Only if there is an injury to Kurtz & Batchelor guests & Holder returns for Kildemand.
  21. It is in the SS as well as D Peet's verdict putting the incident of Manzares's engine blowing up as the reason for our defeat. Instead of being level at 12 all we were 14-10 behind. There were still 11 heats remaining so saying we were playing catch up, & all the riders were trying, there were other areas to explore & these must be put right. We even tried the t/s in heat 6 using Auty for Phillips. IF ONLY Steve was there it could have been a different story, with it being his home track for the last few years, as a few pointers could have been passed on.
  22. Christ we've only had 2 meetings! That's the sort of post I would come to expect from someone like Shovlar and not yourself! I'm certainly giving him the benefit of the doubt after a big crash in Poland only recently. It's not a criticism. For example, why bust a gut in heat 15 if the match is already won and there's no longer anything to gain by winning by more than 6. Only 8 points up & meeting won but a 3-3 would have stopped Leicester getting a consolation point.
  23. I think this fixture was made to attract fans leaving Cardiff & getting home. By the time fans leave the Cardiff area, I would think there would be a change of drivers/toilet break & maybe 4pm was cutting it fine , hence it being put back 1 hour. I think it is best to check your promotion for the answers that you require.
  24. Being last years rider, Rob knows what he did last year (10 & 16) but a lot of riders are not up to speed yet. Lawson scored 8 in both visits & R Worrall scored 10 & 14. It is hard to get the right guest, but without being there, reading the updates, Kerr was pushing in his 1st but couldn't get past, scored 5 in his next 2 then last in the hard ht13. We have been outscored in both matches in the reserve department & I think most expected more from Allen & Nielsen who normally rides the small tracks well (Mildenhall, Plymouth & Rye House). It seems from what D Peet has said was that although the spirit is there, the lads were trying, it just did not happen on the day. Just take other results that have happened this last 2 weeks. Peterborough's results against Lakeside & Ipswich & Glasgows loss at Berwick are a few that, I think, most would say, were unexpected, if being truthfull.
