Scorpions v Glasgow 22.7.18 5.00pm

Glad people did not take your advice because they would have missed a top notch meeting & the juniors later. Just see what other posters felt. -

I would not think, for the sake of the other riders, that Glasgow would revert back to their previous 7, if possible. If having not ridden since a re-declaration there is no facility so a NL guest. Even a half fit battered & bruised Cookie will do better than that. Plus he knows his way round here very well as one of his first meetings was here & has never disappointed. -

Was hoping Cookie to have a 'mare but done ok in his last 3 rides. I wonder if his Polish mechanics will be with him tomorrow? Hope not. -

When anyone travels to Cradley, Sorry, Wolverhampton, do they have to pay for parking, programme(sometimes £3), food & diesel/petrol. It is part & parcel of being a travelling speedway fan. -

Sadly, Rob has not put the price up again. It is £1 more than a standard meeting where others charge £5+ for the second meeting. It is in our normal price schedule for 2 meetings so we have not pumped up the price for this meeting. It is a standard meeting, £1 parking( same as usual), £1 programme (same as usual) & food and diesel/petrol is same for any traveling fan. £35 for 15 heats????????????????? Where!!!!!!!!! It is a 15 heat Championship meeting plus 18 heats of 500 & 250cc British Youth Championship. It is the same for any double header if you are the 1st team. Check any other topic where 2 meetings are covered. -

Friday 27/7 Scunthorpe v Sheffield Friday 3/8 Edinburgh v Scunthorpe Friday 10/8 Workington v Newcastle Friday 17/8 Scunthorpe v Berwick & Workington v Lakeside Friday 24/8 Scunthorpe v Ipswich Friday 31/8 Edinburgh v Workington Scunthorpe being back at full strength????? That is what most fans want to see. Their own riders & 7 v 7. But then again, injuries can happen at any time & now Josh has joined Steve & Jason in doubling up so more risk. Who knows what the future may hold. -
You have been crying that much about not being able to get matches on , we thought we would help out before the floods start!

Rob is being loyal, again, to our riders & well done to him. Other teams changing left, right & centre & interesting to see if they come off but we have faith in our riders when injury free. A couple of riders that could of been on our radar this week could have been Clegg & Mountain. Our season is not over, top 4 in the league might be slipping out of our grasp but we still have the Pairs, Shield & KO Cup to push on for. The next 2 months could be one of the best periods in Scorpion history. -
And now we have Shield meetings to organise.

Win or lose, he is there representing himself & the club. The clubhouse might serve pints but I have not seen 1 rider with a pint. -

Allen was asked & agreed to ride before your post at 11.44pm then announced as soon as was practically possible. -

But Allen scored well on Friday & beat MPT & BWD. He did, also, get beat a few times. -
Our club or 1 man does not have the controls. FACT. It is a body of persons that form the BSPA Committee & the promoters had a meeting the other week. One man does not make a team & others are still injured but "expected" to return by end of the month. Mr Worrall has returned but will take a few meetings to get up to speed as proved with his races at Peterborough & Berwick. The rider missed most, as I have stated before, is Nielsen as r/r have not scored the points he was getting. Then again, neither have some of our guests.

Allen last year in the Fours 5 from 2, in the league 10 + 1 from 5 On Friday 12 + 2 from 6 That is why Carl asked him to be a guest than using r/r. Do you know different to Carl why r/r was a better option? -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2018
IronScorpion replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He started the season on 5.43 & improved to 5.80. Sadly, his injury at the SoN, mechanical issues & losing his mechanic means he is doing everything himself. He has even moved in at the EWR to save on traveling to home meetings. He still represents himself & the club in the after-meeting clubhouse talks but you can tell he is a bit down. Most riders will tell you that the sport is a confidence issue. -
Might even be locked out

A dilemma for Rob in the next week. Knowing he will be getting his main 5 together at the end of the month, can we afford TWO miss firing reserves. Manzares needs help & Danny or both could do to see James Shanes sports therapist, as it has worked wonders for him. With averages tumbling, does he make 2 changes with what he has got now(7.22) or wait until our riders are back & hopefully get a bit of confidence. At the next change in averages, we will only have about 6.2 to play with with no changes allowed after the 12th August. -
7 wins each from 14 heats but it's the minor places that count. Berwick 2 lasts Scunthorpe 12 lasts

Hope your not gonna ban me again!!!!!!!!!!!! Just banter!!!!!! Deleted your post Fozzie4388?

We have been blessed with Schlein & Summers this last few weeks but there is always 1 or 2 that struggle. It is hard getting guests as sometimes you go on riders that have performed well in the past (track specialists) then they are others that have had 1 good meeting. The other week we were slated for choosing Lawson to guest at Redcar 4 days after riding poorly in the 4's. Save your drivel for the updates site as we know you are VERY anti Scunthorpe. You're nearly as bad as Odsalboy!!!!!!!

BTW does anyone know when the signing deadline for team changes is (mid July?) as I am wondering if there is sufficient time for any released riders to be signed on by another club? Mid August this year. I think it is signed by the 12th then 3 days later to be checked & confirmed for the 15th. Injured riders can retake their place at any time after.
