  1. i can remember going to British finals at Coventry, there was one in particular that stands out...coming through the turn stiles and then walking that bit to the stadium, it was rammed and nowadays H & S would be in clover, anyway there was one guy who sorted it all out, pointing and shouting at people to do this and t'other....a speedway character called soldier boy, I think was his name.
  2. i am merely playing devils advocate...I have also heard some of the rumours doing the rounds. Still hoping they are wrong.
  3. not really, as far as i can see it's still only hearsay...seems very strange this has only come to light after a riders engine failures on Monday night.
  4. so literally anybody can post unfounded and derogatory posts without any comeback at all, sign me up buttercup, I'm all ears😃
  5. might receive a little more credence other than a one word answer without the slightest bit of evidence!
  6. why ask Jamie?...if you know something post it....or is it just hearsay.
  7. this is my take on the Tungate saga....practice start before his first heat the bike doesn't sound right, shakes his head towards his mechanic, mechanic then touches the bike and taps Tungate on the back as if good to go, the 2 minutes was on anyway, so couldn't of done a lot else, tapes go up and bike gets no further than the second bend and gives up..Obviously words in the pits, misses his second programmed ride, next ride he finishes third but the bike looked like it all but died going over the finishing line, doesn't ride again. Now it could be several things, both bikes died on the night or he doesn't want ride for what ever reason. What ever the reason it didn't look good for Oxford, Speedway or Tungate himself. Hopefully the truth will come out and not just a pointless press release from the club or rider.
  8. Track is grippy according to Staechman…why aren’t BSN interviewing Tungate or the Oxford team manager, absolutely rubbish show.
  9. Tungate replaced in his second ride, obvious he has mechanical issue, can see him blowing a fuse if he has another ef.
  10. Ipswich look a strong team, biggest worry for opposing teams right now is that they are winning, thats without Doyle and Emil being in dominant form. Can only see Sheffield beating them in the play offs but my money would be on Ipswich, of course there's a huge list of ifs buts and maybe's still.
  11. so is there any foundation behind the rumours?
  12. Loved the passion and excitement in Tatums voice....also thought Nicholls interview with Doyle right at the end was first class, only possible where riders are interviewed by riders or ex riders. One disappointment was when Thompson won heat six beating Kurtz from behind, no pit interview with him yet an interview with someone else, think it was Cook.
  13. really?...both captains weren't bothered at all by it...now surely the SCB have bigger problems than this to address. Personally thought it added something to what is usually a boring to a coin toss, Speedway was top drawer last night with one of the best meetings of league racing, lets not lose sight of that with trying to find something that isn't there.
  14. Yes i did think it was a rather random thing of you to of said in the first place.
  15. probably seen a lot more than you tbh, Wroclaw is one of the better tracks in the GP....but wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it is prepared the GP way.
  16. produce a track that is for racing and everyone's a winner, produce the usual gate and go track and its three hours of boredom.
  17. even before the rain it was a borefest, even after the rain it was a borefest,,,,highlight of the meeting, the adverts Kurtz is riding well, Freddie has the biggest pair of balls going, BZ is the entertainer, the rest will have the odd GP here and there to raise the pulses. The tracks in general for the GP's are little more than a gaters paradise, boils my piss when we are six races in and we are told that the track will come good, over a quarter of the way through a meeting and its follow the leader, Then after any track preparation it goes back to gate and go.
  18. so the day has arrived, Lions to win by an easy eight or more. So much talk about Klindt having seven rides, no one has mentioned that if he misses the gate in his first two rides he is more than likely to be last, which will put a huge doubt on him having seven rides. The biggest advantage for Lynn may be the weather, if its a damp track it could make it a great leveller.
  19. if Klindt is in heat 15, the tie is already over....ifs, buts and maybe's.
  20. people predicting that some riders will have x amount of rides etc etc....speedway and sport is never ever that predictable, why not just try and enjoy the event as it unfolds!
  21. just to add a little perspective, riders have been known to get guarantees in speedway.
