  1. Really don't get the furore over team suits. I couldn't care less and actually used to like seeing all the different leathers riders wore. They can have team race jackets and helmet colours - now I sometimes find it hard to tell who's who on track. It does nothing to increase the crowd, which will continue to reduce unless there is more entertainment on offer, in a better environment, than 15 races.
  2. Although I can partly see the reasoning, it's really too easy to blame the bike if you do badly.
  3. Absolutely. My comment was a little tongue in cheek but in my view it is about consistency and not an average from one season. Not that I've looked at past history but 'out and out' no. 1s I can think of rarely dipped below double figures in a meeting and never in 2 meetings running. He will no doubt come good again he wasn't crowned British Champ for nothing but his start is a worry for Stars fans.
  4. That was more than he scored at Ipswich I think. His scoring is crucial for them and on the evidence of these two meetings he isn't an out and out No.1, as you assess.
  5. Ha, yes he's not started well this year and as for the British Champ, disgraceful.
  6. Was a great programme though, lots to read and an improvement on last year.
  7. It was the same at Foxhall on Thursday, white and yellow both looked the same to me.
  8. Didn't like the yellow helmet covers though, difficult to tell apart from White - else my eyes are failing. Although I think ref was fooled in ht15 as I had 1st/2nd the other way around.
  9. Was an OK meeting. Some riders looked good when making the start, Kemp impressed for Ipswich. Nicholls was superb for Leicester whilst Bates also gave it plenty of effort. Oh dear on Thomas and Perks though.
  10. Gomolski tweeted yesterday that he needs a mechanic in the UK - I assume for Peterborough?
  11. Nope, Tommy runs a grasstrack/speedway spares van - RTN Racing.
  12. Saving Iversen for last? Don't know if I read too much into it but in the Tru Plant article for Ipswich, they mentioned they listed their help for 2019 as Jason Doyle and one other rider but didn't name them - someone for Lynn?
  13. Surely tapes-up for qualifying is irrelevant as they're measuring a flying lap aren't they? Agreed for the races that riders will want a standard position on the bike. I also like the idea of measuring actual mph during a race (like they do with skiing for example) - they'd need readers at multiple points though so they may consider it too expensive......
  14. I am almost certain that these figures contain a lot of inaccuracies, so much so that conclusions really can't be drawn. Most tax returns I've seen, including business ones, never show the real amounts of money flowing, the value taken out or offset against costs that are lower in reality than stated. This is even more true of cash businesses where income can be difficult to audit. Accountants are paid a lot of money for a reason!
  15. Doesn't mean he's the only one though, just that others don't choose to make it public.
  16. Ha, it's funny how people latch on to one bit of a post which was actually more about clubs putting fans first, but I guess there's nothing like a forum to focus on the small issues. There's no need for anyone to be confused, when entering the stadium through the car par turnstile, directly between you and the end of the back straight stand is a steep grass bank, which I've chosen to walk up to get to the stand (at first I didn't know there was a longer way around) - a few stairs wouldn't have added much to the cost of the whole build. Anyway, back to my original question regarding Belle Vue, what Health and Safety issues prevent people from walking all the way around a speedway stadium when it's a new build?
