I dunno , being a supporter of a team who has had more than it's fair share of Aussie duds in recent seasons , i'd be a bit concerned at Jake Allen's scores over there .

Just as well there's not a NZ GP this year or he'd miss the start of the season haha

I suppose that could happen . He's Redcar's asset and they are perfectly entitled to ask whatever they want for him . Then it's up to any potential buyer whether they want to meet that valuation . Redcar can no longer fit him into their septet as it stands , so the danger is if Glasgow turn their attentions elsewhere and the lad gets frozen out . Lets hope that doesn't happen . But if what you suggest actually transpires , then it shows what a mockery the asset thing actually is . Time it was binned and any rider and clubs can negotiate with who they want at the end of every season .

Thanks for everything Gordon , there's a better than even chance that we would not be discussing a Glasgow side on here now had it not been for your efforts , along with Alan and Stewart during the Ashfield era . Don't be a stranger and haste you back to watch your team whenever you can . I hope to bump into you somewhere on my travels in 2015 . Happy new year mate .

He's maybe still in talks with Michael Makovsky and Charlie Gjedde

Premier League 2015 Predictions
Paulco replied to cambpanther's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Any talk of EL racing north of the border is " pie in the sky " stuff . We dropped out of top flight racing at the end of the 1973 season , and apart from the one big league in 95 , we have remained a 2nd tier club ever since . I don't see that changing any time soon . But you never can tell , with the EL dropping in both standards and numbers , who knows what shape British speedway will take during the rest of this decade . -
Clubs like their big dramatic announcements , we just have to play along sometimes

As your user name suggests , a certain rider sharing that user name is not going to be top of any Glasgow fans favourite list , even if one of our favourite sons was a Long Eaton rider at the time . Speedway is not run on paper , we know that , that has been proved on numerous occasions . But as things stand we don't look like being in our usual place down in the lower reaches of the table . We are looking forward to the season for a change -
My pleasure

Most missed - Hyde Road , may the new Belle Vue track come close . Coatbridge - you just don't get banking like that anymore .

A guid New Year to all the Witches I met in July during and after our glorious draw in July . Wee Badge who came to my rescue when I ran out of fags ( it was a bit nerve wracking ) London Witch and Hayley and CrazySue for the cracking company , and the barman in the first bend bar for keeping it open till nearly midnight . I had a ball that night and looking forward to going back there in 2015 .

While I'm still sober enough to negotiate my way round a keyboard , a very happy new year to all my fellow Tiggs . 2015 looks like it's going to be an exciting year on and off the track and it's looking possible that we will be following our team with optimism and confidence home and away , instead of just going through the motions . And to all my friends 40 miles along the M8 , GET IT RIGHT UP YE AND WE'RE COMING TO KICK YOUR BUTTS IN 2015

A very happy new year to all my Bandits mates , looking forward to the Black and Gold club in 2015 , and the 3rd bend Scott and Kenny . And no , Kenny , I'm not a Bandit in disguise lol .

He'll be a Glasgow rider before January's out

This is the one thing that pisses me off about the asset system . Years ago the second tier was the natural progression to the top tier . If Poole want Jack Holder as an asset , then they use him in 2015 . If he is not regarded as EL good enough yet , then a PL team sign him and if he serves his apprenticeship successfully in the PL and Poole still want him , then they pay a nominal fee . Too often now EL sides are snapping these youngsters up on reputation and leaving the PL clubs to fight over the scraps . The wealth , such as it is , in speedway has to trickle down from the top to the bottom for the sport to have any chance of survival .

Can you imagine it . A Glasgow v Smugs Grand Final . The Forum would explode , I would get banned , Blobby would still be questioning the Glasgow takeover , George M's preview ( I bow to his greatness ) would take up all the bandwidth , Dekker might make a reappearance at both legs . me and the Emmerdales would get pissed regardless , God it would be awesome -

Memories from 2011 better get the cameras and the sun block ready , and the knives sharpened . Would be nice to have a repeat of that season when both Tigers were at the right end of the table slugging it out -

Zagar was a serial meeting dodger in his PL days , we never got a glimpse of him very often north of the border

Remember being down at Somerset in 2006 when Lee Dicken beat Stefan Katt by riding round the boards for the whole 4 laps . The big man was good that night
