  1. I gathered from talking to Devils fans , when I was down there in July , that Simota was a bit inconsistent . He was definitely on one of his going days against us that night scoring paid 17 . And as winning the majority of home fixtures should be first and foremost in a promotion's thinking , then his inclusion is perfectly understandable .
  2. A bit unfair including Lykke in with that lot . At least Kasper is entertaining to watch and always gives 100% . If Kasper could sort out his gating , he would be a heat leader . But I agree with your sentiment . If a foreign rider comes in on a 5 or a 7 and cant achieve that average over a season , if someone wants to sign them the following year they should revert back to the assessed mark .
  3. Mauger was definitely the best gater , apart from when up against a Pole taking a 30 yard run at the gate in a World Final run off . Any of the Collins brothers had you on the edge of your seat when they were carving their way past riders . Les at Powderhall was the most entertaining I've ever seen , you were praying he would fluff the start , even though he was in the opposition side .
  4. The old twit for tat excuse . I know a few Tigers fans that cling onto reasons for not attending Armadale . It's all nonsense however and petty that people let their outrages curtail their enjoyment of the sport we claim to love . I know I like to take the piss and sometimes I've upset Monarchs fans , but we're all speedway fans at the end of the day . I wasn't best pleased witnessing what happened that night at Armadale , but we've moved on since then surely .
  5. Sorry , I was away for Christmas . I read it in the speedway star a week or two back Yeah we could do with a Bosman in speedway . That's the most sensible statement on here . It's not as if we've got a team of speedway galacticos , money or not we're bound by the same restrictions as everybody else .
  6. That would appear to be the case , 25k for Summers is a nonsense and we wont pay that . I hope the lad doesnt miss out on a team place because of it .
  7. Was hoping the juniors would go and ground share with Petershill . Would solve a lot of problems not having any football at Ashfield at all .
  8. As long as they leave some of the Charlie Monk stand for me and Tyretrax to pay homage from every Sunday .
  9. As long as he was more Chris than James , then aye . We've had more than enough of guys on assessed averages to do us for a while though .
  10. Oh dear , I could sense the smug vibes from down in the General Discussion section .
  11. Wash your mouth out , the Monarchs fixation is a thing of amusement , it's hatred for that manky mob in Glasgow's east end haha
  12. And your point is ? Does riding in an individual event not count as speedway ?
  13. Probably cause he wasn't out for a year through injury , he rode in the Scottish Open
  14. Seasons greetings to our friends in the East too . The said pumpings are at an end now . Since we have a proper number 1 now . One who was born in a stable in Maryport , on Christmas Day , and surrounded by three wise men with gifts of a crash helmet , a set of Kevlars and a Tigers racebib .
  15. I see the Monarchs on here are getting a bit touchy over criticism of the blessed Cookie . I'm glad he's back at the dump for another season , no excuses then when we kick their arse
  16. Sheffield look very good , especially if Arthur Sissis hits the ground running .
  17. Well , new season , new start . I'm more content with him in my team riding at reserve .
  18. He shouldn't have been placed in the position he was . My ire was aimed more at the promotion . At the time we were on a downward spiral and signing an untried foreign rider and pitch him in at number 1 , when it was evident from day 1 that he was never going to be capable of remotely scoring many points riding as a heat leader , was an act of desperation . He has a chance now to ride from a position of relative comfort , to prove he isn't just another foreign dud and carve out a career for himself as a Tiger .
  19. There isn't , not that would fill the reserve place anyway . Victor was placed in an impossible situation last year , number 1 on borrowed equipment and in a struggling side . Hopefully , with all winter to prepare , he's ready to go and proves much better than his starting average .
  20. More than anything , reserves win you honours . Nick in 2011 being the perfect example . I dont expect James or Victor to do what Nick did , but i'm confident they'll score well from that position .
  21. There is that . A high profile ex-Monarch riding for Glasgow is a hard enough occupation , an under performing high profile ex-Monarch riding for Glasgow is a toxic combination
  22. He was a complete enigma , his form fluctuated from race to race , never mind meeting to meeting . Maybe back in his first British club will suit him better , we shall see .
