We would love the " Son of God " to finally take up his birthright , but i think he might end up being a Tiger elsewhere . Leicester moving up might free up the likes of Doolan and Neiminen if we can afford them . Apart from that we'll probably end up with a couple of Edinburgh's assets that they cant fit in to go along with the likes of Ringwood , Thomsen and Jacobs .

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Edinburgh V Somerset Plpo Final 1st Leg 25/10/13 7.30
Paulco replied to ekimba's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Which is why , if we continue with play-offs , we must start the league programme at the beginning of April and have the cut off date at the end of August . The play-offs can be contested during the month of September , with the League Cup as an end of season tournament . To have the title decided on weather affected tracks at the fag end of the season is ludicrous . Actually play-offs were un-necessary this year because we had an exciting end to the league campaign between 4 or 5 clubs anyway . If both legs of the final are washed out this weekend , Somerset should be declared champions as they topped the league . -

No even gonnae attempt a quote , cause it's daeing ma heed in . Just to say the Somerset Rebels supporters club ( Partick branch ) should be out in force , weather permitting -
The reason given for the cancelation of Sunday's meeting was that 5 of the riders booked were taking part in the PL play off final . Presumably both Edinburgh and Somerset wouldn't be too keen on the likes of Cook , Morris and Grajczonek taking part in a meaningless fixture between the two legs of the final

Did that apply in the Dale Devil days ?

Edinburgh V Glasgow 'select' (sc) 11/10/13 @ 7.30pm

Apparently Bager has a broken wrist . Thought it was quite a good meeting last night , shame so many guests , but at least a Tigers legend was the star of the show and i had a wee tear in my eye when he punched the air after winning heat 15 . Will Scotland have a successor i wonder -

Mickey Mouse match or not , i'm going . Looks like two pretty even teams to me , we might get some decent racing . Going to be a bit cold on that 3rd bend methinks though . -

oh we're really naughty -
Can never understand why so many people want Bager back

Doolan would certainly be gettable . Whether Karlsson would be doing British speedway next year is open to question . But Doolan and Neiminen are both ex-Tigers and either would be welcome
-
Not very realistic . Dakota North only came to us when his Polish season finished and i would assume he would want to return there . Lawson seems in with the bricks at Workington , and will probably stay there . Bager again ???????????? no thanks , Henry too injury prone and Fisher would in all likelihood end up 30 miles along the M8 if he was dropping down . Anders Thomsen and Joey Ringwood would be two ideal reserves and we could go from there .

Edinburgh V Ipswich (plpf-gb) 4/10/13 @ 7.30pm

Tonight makes or breaks your season , get nothing tonight and the home meeting is irrelevent . -
Edinburgh fans are too touchy when one of their own is the subject of criticism . After what happened earlier on this season , obviously Cook is going to have his detractors amongst the Foxhall faithful . I see nothing on the thread that crosses the line into bad taste .

Granted it's not even close to a Belle Vue side , but it's an end of season fixture and a meeting between two seven rider sides is infinitely better than an individual meeting .

They bicker on their own threads too much to bother with ours -

Pretty mundane stuff . Plymouth were awful apart from Wethers who always gives 100% . Great to see Grievesy finish on a high , he'll be missed . Anders Thomsen riding the machinery he had yesterday is a must for next season on his low average . -
Every year there seems to be a fixture that the rain gods don't want us to stage , and this year it was this one . But thankfully Sunday's forecast is speedway friendly and we should get this run at the 3rd time of asking . Theo Pijper once again dons his Tigers racejacket for this one , and Plymouth have drafted in the new Premier League Riders Champion , Olly Allen , as a guest for their Danish serial meeting dodger . Sundays teams in full - Glasgow 1 Theo Pijper 2 Henning Bager 3 Anders Thomsen 4 James Grieves 5 Dakota North 6 Joe Jacobs 7 Joey Ringwood Plymouth 1 Olly Allen 2 Todd Kurtz 3 Rasmus Jensen 4 Michael Palm Toft 5 Mark Lemon 6 Simon Nielsen 7 Jake Anderson Of course Sunday brings the final chapter in the career of one of Glasgow Tigers finest ever riders . James Grieves rides his last official meeting to bring an end to a 22 year career in the saddle . We wish James every success in whatever he chooses to do next .
