  1. How do you know Anders wouldn't have scored 8 or 9 against that Moanarchs team today ? From what i saw , i think he might well have done .
  2. Not today , he was dreadful . The whole Edinburgh makeshift side were , Pijper and Wethers apart . Obviously i'm not getting carried away ,as Bellego for Thomsen strengthened us considerably , but it was still a great display from us . Joey Ringwood now appears to be becoming quite a handy reserve for us .
  3. Probably . It's a shame the blessed Cookie isn't riding today , i was looking forward to the battles between him and Grajczonek . That's took all the gloss off the meeting for me
  4. Last Sunday No , we'll be tapping David up to get our own back
  5. It's time for our monthly visit from our nearest and dearest , this time in the Scottish Cup . As usual they are led by the blessed Cookie , Vissing and Theo Pijper . We have drafted in a couple of ex-Tigers , Josh Grajczonek and David Bellego to replace the injured duo Joe Screen and Anders Thomsen . Sundays teams are - Glasgow 1 Josh Grajczonek 2 Henning Bager 3 David Bellego 4 James Grieves 5 Dakota North 6 Joe Jacobs 7 Joey Ringwood Edinburgh 1 Craig Cook 2 Derek Sneddon 3 Theo Pijper 4 Jozsef Tabaka 5 Claus Vissing 6 TBC 7 Max Fricke
  6. Strange old sport is speedway . Last week i watched a meeting that finished 70-20 and the racing was pretty good . Yesterday i watched a 45-45 draw and it was mind numbingly boring .
  7. Charlie Monk would have been my choice , though Lawson did ride 15 seasons for Glasgow . The Ken Le Breton you speak of was actually a Glasgow Giants rider . Glasgow had two teams in the early 50's , and ironically the Giants rode at the same stadium that the current Tigers use .
  8. Son of God is Richard Lawson , chucks . And he's the son of arguably the greatest Glasgow Tiger ever , Steve Lawson
  9. Would appear the Sheffield revised line up is - 1 Son of God 2 Andre Compton 3 Ricky Wells 4 r/r for Maasen 5 Aaron Summers 6 Simon Lambert 7 Facundo Albin Quite a decent line up with two Ashfield specialists as guests and r/r for the German giving either Wells ( who was excellent at our place last season ) or Summers an extra outing . Much might depend on Lambert , who has had double figure returns at Ashfield in the past , but was woeful when up with Somerset a fortnight ago .
  10. I really hope so . I found myself thinking to myself this morning " can i really stand watching another gubbing today , should i just stop at home and watch Liverpool v Man Utd and Arsenal v Spurs " . Of course i'll end up going , but that's the first time i can ever remember thinking that way on a Sunday morning
  11. So here we have it . Two years ago our respective promotions were hurling insults at each other as the two Tigers were vying for the title . Now we are the worst two teams in the league , though we have managed to secure the wooden spoon , and by some distance . Guests will be to the fore with Theo Pijper , getting respite from his exile in the eastern front , coming in for Joe Screen for the home diddies . And Son of God being the inspired choice to replace Simon Stead for the away diddies . Kevin Doolan was meant to guest for the unfortunate Adam Roynon , but he's injured as well - so it's anybodies guess who'll step in there . Sheffield have r/r for their latest foreign Sunday meeting dodger . Teams for the basement battle might be Bottom diddy team 1 Theo Pijper 2 Anders Thomsen 3 Henning Bager 4 James Grieves 5 Dakota North 6 Joe Jacobs 7 Joey Ringwood 2nd bottom diddy team 1 Richard Lawson 2 Andre Compton 3 Ricky Wells 4 r/r 5 Kevin Doolan or somebody else 6 Simon Lambert 7 Facundo Albin Can we end our near 4 month wait for a win , will it be dry as it never is when Sheffield come calling , will Anders' bikes go faster than the average lawn mower .............all this and more will be answered in 24 hours .
  12. We cant keep going on like this , that was embarrassing today . Thank christ Grievesy came to the party .
  13. Basically what the fans wanted to hear . This is unacceptable , changing the riding order , carrying too many passengers , even though the season is nearly over he wont put up with this kind of performance .
  14. Every team that comes up here , smells blood . I suppose that's understandable . One of these weeks we'll stop the rot , whether that is today is unlikely . Heeps and Ellis looked pretty tasty when the first staging got stopped by the rain , that doesn't bode well for us .
  15. Blimey , this is a warzone after what was basically an average meeting . Gate 4 was a complete graveyard . Iversen was a class above , and i couldn't believe that was the same Kasprzak i saw at Peterboro on Friday . Bomber rode his heart out , that countback thing is hard on riders - should have had a run off with him and Smolinski . But i was expecting a cut-throat and ruthless meeting , i've seen harder racing in a PL match .
  16. And it's Mark Lemon . With Stewart Dickson resuming his team manager role for this meeting . Beautiful cloudless sky out there , can we win today ?
  17. Need to dash as i'm on way to Redcar , so if some kind soul could add the sides for Sunday it would be appreciated . C'mon the stripes
  18. No thread Bears fans for what is a win or bust meeting for your ailing play-off hopes . Granted three points against a side marooned at the bottom of the league , and who haven't gained a single away point all season , should be a formality . But it's amazing what can happen when the pressure is on . One change for Glasgow , the improving Joey Ringwood sustained a knock in the home meeting against Somerset last Sunday , and will be replaced by Ben Morley . Weather forecast looks good , so i'll see some of you Bears fans later . C'mon the stripes .
  19. Was talking to Sean on the way out and he told me that he went on the phone , after Joey got excluded . and said to Craig Ackroyd that he'd seen him bring all 4 back after collisions on the 2nd bend of televised meetings . His answer was that if the crash had happened a yard further back he would have . Unbelievable
