Glasgow V Rye House Pl 4/8/13 @3 P.m.

What worries me is where we find two heat leaders , to replace Screen and Grieves , who'll be able to commit to a Sunday afternoon track ? -

Another Sunday afternoon gubbing in the sunshine . Really canny see where a win will come from if we couldn't win this one . In saying that Rye House were good value for their win in what was actually not the worst meeting you'll ever see . Grajczonek was a class apart , you really couldn't see anyone getting near him today . He had excellent back up from high scoring reserve , Aspgren , and Jason Bunyan . For us , well the usual tale of woe from the tapes . Thomsen was the one bright spark of another disappointing display , he looks a very exciting addition . Looked to be an issue with bend 3 today , with more than one rider struggling with it , and Bager expensively coming to grief on it when leading heat 9 . Nice to see my old mate Halifaxtiger at the track today , that bloke must cover some miles during a speedway season -

That's a pity , you're always a welcome visitor to our happy little track . See you in the New Barrack Tavern on PLRC day no doubt -
Been busy and just noticed there's no thread yet . No excuses today , if we are to have any hope of avoiding the wooden spoon this season , then three points against injury hit Rye House is a must . No win of any sort for three months is a shocking statistic and that has to be arrested today . Bright and sunny morning in Glasgow , so no immediate weather worries to contend with . So let's hope a decent sized crowd will turn out and get behind the lads . New signings Dakota North and Anders Thomsen make their home debuts , so much to look forward to especially with Josh Grajczonek guesting for the Rockets as well . Line ups for today Glasgow 1 Joe Screen 2 Dakota North 3 Henning Bager 4 Anders Thomsen 5 James Grieves 6 Joey Ringwood 7 Joe Jacobs Rye House 1 Josh Grajczonek (guest) 2 Jason Bunyan 3 Anders Mellgren 4 Ben Hopwood (guest) 5 r/r for Tyson Nelson 6 Kasper Lykke 7 Pontus Aspgren When we defeated the Rockets in the home leg of the KO Cup tie , 52-38 , earlier in the season their best riders were Jason Garrity , Tyson Nelson and Oliver Allen . From an entertainment point of view it's disappointing all those three are missing today . However we just have to concentrate on beating the 6 riders who don the Rockets ' colours this afternoon . Defeat is not an option .

Enjoyed myself at Berwick as usual . Possibly not a great meeting from an entertainment perspective as it was mostly gate and go , but anytime we score more than 40 away from home is a bonus . Much as expected from our point of view . Screen looked good when he gated , not so good when he didn't . Henning was our best performer , never giving up all the way to the line in all his races . James was poor by his standards , Jacobs was ok , but Ringwood and Compton didn't bring a lot to the party . Special mention for young Anders though , all these tracks are new to him and Shielfield looked an insurmountable challenge for him in his first three races , but in his last heat he pulled off a great pass on the impressive Bandits guest reserve , Adam Ellis , and chased Bandits' best rider on the night , Matthew Wethers , all the way to the line . Wethers and Bellego were very good for the home team , and had strong backing from Smith , Ellis and Aspegren . Starke was very poor and Ashworth looks a shadow of the rider we know he is . Whether it's a fitness issue , and that would be understandable , or mechanical - i don't know , but that wasn't the real Ricky Ashworth last night . I have to applaud my fellow Tigers fans though , it's not easy when your side is struggling at the bottom of the league and to see so many there last night was fantastic . And , of course , we were made very welcome by the home fans . There's a great affinity between the Tigers and Bandits fans these days , maybe it's because we have a common enemy - possibly , but whatever the reason , long may it continue to blossom . -

Hope a line can be drawn under this now . British speedway is in a bad enough state without two of it's alleged top riders at each other's throats . -

Thought that annoying Danish fixture had been moved to early August and Anders was clear to ride for his employers tonight . -
The lazyman thread i'm afraid . Been on hols to avoid the Edinburgh meetings , so a wee bit out of touch . Apparently we've got Dakota North in to try and stem the flow of defeats and Anders Thomsen should make his home debut . Whilst i canny remember who rides for Plymouth apart from Cory Gathercole and Mark Lemon . Hopefully we'll get our first home win in ages , and the predicted overnight rain should have cleared up long before this starts .

Stock the Black and Gold club with plenty beer , we'll be down later What's the script with our team tonight ? I heard North isn.t making his debut till tomorrow , so what happens tonight ? Does Compton ride his final meeting for us ? -
A wee wake up call for the Monarchs tonight , you wont win nothing gating like you did tonight . Not a failure in the Diamonds side tonight and the victory margin could even have been greater but for bad luck . Robson's fall in heat 1 when on a 5-1 . Tully's ef when on a 5-1 and Vissing's dive in heat 13 when Worrall made a clean pass up his inside . You couldn't help but be impressed by the solidity of the Newcastle side , even Christian Henry's r/r rides yeilded a paid maximum . Dunno what the story was with Edinburgh , Sneddon , Tabaka and Davey were abysmal and even the blessed Cookie found himself on the wrong end of a 5-1 . Happy viewing for a long suffering Tigger , with Lindgren and Tully especially far better than anything the Monarchs had to offer . Lindgren was a bit wild in his opening ride , but was imperious after that till heat 15 . But the job was done by then . Newcastle put a big marker down tonight .

Glasgow Tigers Sign Anders Thomsen
Paulco replied to Fingersfin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very true . Our awful season is now pretty much over bar the shouting , might as well give the kid the rest of the campaign to see what transpires . Though we better make sure there's enough official meetings left in case anyone nips in and pinches him if he's any good . Once bitten and all that . -

Predictable " i'm a wee bit bored so i'll have a wee moan about Glasgow " post from Fred . All speedway tracks that are forced to race in the afternoon during hot weather get dusty . It's annoying , but it's just the nature of the beast . -
And not the rider as well it would seem . Ipswich have a terrific young talent in Adam Ellis , whose efforts last night kept Ipswich alive in the League Cup semi final against Edinburgh , yet you get an individual waging a personal and irrational war against him on here . Ok i know more than most what it's like to support a struggling team , and Ipswich are far from that , so some of the nonsense being spouted by one or two on Ipswich threads are a bit difficult to understand . But any Ipswich fan i have met , and i know a few personally , are a credit to the team they support .

Who Should Be In Gb World Cup Team?
Paulco replied to bri1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I dont see what all the fuss is about . I don't see too much difference between Kennett , Barker or Bridger . All average EL riders not good enough at World level . So it didn't really matter which one was picked . The inclusion of the blessed Cookie is to be welcomed , with the hope that he can take the step up a level or two . -

Argument raging on the Glasgow FB page last night about how much we'll have to pay to get in next week with our rain off tickets . Nobody seems exactly sure , so surely one of the BSF know-alls will be able to tell us . -

What's the script with the Green sheets mate . Does the Golden Child stay at reserve or does Tobacco Joe return there , or even Desperate Deek dropping down ?
