  1. Basically what the fans wanted to hear . This is unacceptable , changing the riding order , carrying too many passengers , even though the season is nearly over he wont put up with this kind of performance .
  2. Every team that comes up here , smells blood . I suppose that's understandable . One of these weeks we'll stop the rot , whether that is today is unlikely . Heeps and Ellis looked pretty tasty when the first staging got stopped by the rain , that doesn't bode well for us .
  3. Blimey , this is a warzone after what was basically an average meeting . Gate 4 was a complete graveyard . Iversen was a class above , and i couldn't believe that was the same Kasprzak i saw at Peterboro on Friday . Bomber rode his heart out , that countback thing is hard on riders - should have had a run off with him and Smolinski . But i was expecting a cut-throat and ruthless meeting , i've seen harder racing in a PL match .
  4. And it's Mark Lemon . With Stewart Dickson resuming his team manager role for this meeting . Beautiful cloudless sky out there , can we win today ?
  5. Need to dash as i'm on way to Redcar , so if some kind soul could add the sides for Sunday it would be appreciated . C'mon the stripes
  6. No thread Bears fans for what is a win or bust meeting for your ailing play-off hopes . Granted three points against a side marooned at the bottom of the league , and who haven't gained a single away point all season , should be a formality . But it's amazing what can happen when the pressure is on . One change for Glasgow , the improving Joey Ringwood sustained a knock in the home meeting against Somerset last Sunday , and will be replaced by Ben Morley . Weather forecast looks good , so i'll see some of you Bears fans later . C'mon the stripes .
  7. Was talking to Sean on the way out and he told me that he went on the phone , after Joey got excluded . and said to Craig Ackroyd that he'd seen him bring all 4 back after collisions on the 2nd bend of televised meetings . His answer was that if the crash had happened a yard further back he would have . Unbelievable
  8. To be absolutely fair , and taking nothing away from Josh Bates , Doyle made a complete hash of the gate , then was held up behind his team mate . By the time he eventually got past Newman there was barely half a lap left in the race to do anything about Bates . But i do realise your post was tongue in cheek .
  9. Dont think too many of you will be berating last night's track . When you get a track prepared like that accompanied by three very good visiting heat leaders , you will get last night's very decent looking sized crowd coming back for more .
  10. What a thoroughly enjoyable 15 heats of speedway . Somerset's long tail meant they were never going to seriously threaten to win the meeting , but i felt Edinburgh played it very cutely from heat 8 onwards to prevent the double points ride coming into play . Hats off to young Josh Bates , he probably won himself an Edinburgh team place till the end of the season after his last two rides tonight . An enthralling contest throughout , roll on the KO Cup semi final between these two sides . Too be fair to Alex , Edinburgh is a very difficult track if you only ride it once or twice a season . He made a great move in heat 3 to get himself into 2nd place after a lap , only to misjugde the 3rd and 4th bend a lap later which knocked him to the back . On more conventional tracks this weekend he'll contribute a lot more points wise
  11. I copied from the Glasgow e-mail i received this week , schoolboy error on their part . I had noticed Lambert had ridden for the Rebels last week , but wasn't sure if it was a guest booking or a short term deal . That many comings and goings these days it's hard to keep track .
  12. So the wait for that elusive home victory extends to another week . And the opposition doesn't get any easier , it's title chasing Somerset . They only boast the best heat-leader trio in the division in the shape of World Cup rider Jason Doyle and two returning 2011 title winning Tigers Nick Morris and Josh Grajczonek . So after the Rebels take care of the Monarchs and the Bandits , can the Tigers do the unthinkable and put a spanner in the works of one of the main players in the title race ? Teams for Sunday Tigers 1 Joe Screen 2 Dakota North 3 Henning Bager 4 Anders Thomsen 5 James Grieves 6 Joey Ringwood 7 Joe Jacobs Rebels 1 Jason Doyle 2 Kyle Newman 3 Nick Morris 4 Alex Davies 5 Josh Grajczonek 6 Tom Perry 7 Stefan Nielsen
  13. i would say so yes . We might be marooned at the foot of the table , and deservedly so , but we contributed much to a very good speedway meeting this afternoon . Just couldn't match an extremely good Edinburgh side .
  14. Cracking meeting today despite the referee's best efforts to spoil it . Ok we got thumped again , but the track and the standard of entertainment was superb . Our season has been over for weeks , but if we get a track prepared like that every week , i for one wont mind a bit .
  15. That is a fantastic gesture by the Monarchs , which i would hope we would reciprocate possibly if the Monarchs are able to fit in the Scottish Cup . According to this morning's Sun , Claus Vissing is hoping to ride - though that source of information is treated with suspicion . Dry , though cloudy , at the moment . Let's hope the weather gods behave themselves .
  16. So the wait for the elusive home victory continues . Britain hadn't a golf major winner , a Briton hadn't won Wimbledon and Simon Cowell hadn't impregnated one of his mates' bird the last time the Tigers won at home . So this week's visitors sensing blood are .........................................the Champions elect from the snooty side of Scotland . Oh deep joy . Yes Slugger Cook , the best pound for pound rider in the PL , Desperate Deek , the Golden Child et al , roll the smugmobile into Ashfield this Sunday . Thankfully it's not a league match , but it's the 2nd leg in the quest for the most hideous looking trophy in British speedway . I think it's basically over as a contest , the first leg was that long ago i can't remember the score - though since it was at the Dump we probably got pumped . Anyway regardless where that coveted trophy ends up , any sort of win against THEM would be welcome . I hear they will be without Claus Vissing tomorrow so whether it's a guest or r/r - i'm unsure . Teams for Sunday Plucky Underdogs 1 Joe Screen 2 Dakota North 3 Henning Bager 4 Anders Thomsen 5 James Grieves 6 Joey Ringwood 7 Joe Jacobs THEM 1 Lennox Lewis 2 The Golden Child 3 Theo Pijper 4 Joe Tabaka 5 r/r or guest 6 Mitchell Davey 7 Desperate Deek COME ON THE STRIPES , PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE
  17. Yeah he's been a terrific signing for Rye House at reserve
  18. Think the rest of us have just grown used to losing i'm afraid . Ask Halifaxtiger why he was laughing so much at us , when Derek Smith tried to start a Tigers roar just before heat 14
  19. What worries me is where we find two heat leaders , to replace Screen and Grieves , who'll be able to commit to a Sunday afternoon track ?
  20. Another Sunday afternoon gubbing in the sunshine . Really canny see where a win will come from if we couldn't win this one . In saying that Rye House were good value for their win in what was actually not the worst meeting you'll ever see . Grajczonek was a class apart , you really couldn't see anyone getting near him today . He had excellent back up from high scoring reserve , Aspgren , and Jason Bunyan . For us , well the usual tale of woe from the tapes . Thomsen was the one bright spark of another disappointing display , he looks a very exciting addition . Looked to be an issue with bend 3 today , with more than one rider struggling with it , and Bager expensively coming to grief on it when leading heat 9 . Nice to see my old mate Halifaxtiger at the track today , that bloke must cover some miles during a speedway season
  21. That's a pity , you're always a welcome visitor to our happy little track . See you in the New Barrack Tavern on PLRC day no doubt
