  1. Actually it was at that time , the rain did stop around noon . However the previous 8 hour monsoon probably meant the track needed more than a couple of hours to dry out . I had decided at around 10 o clock that morning that it was a waste of time even thinking about going .
  2. it only causes problems because it comes to a head at this time of year . If we started the season with the league , we could have the cut off date a month earlier and the champions could be crowned by the first week of September . Then have the League Cup as an end of season tournament . The play-offs are brilliant , or could be if the season was structured correctly .
  3. And it's off , 5 hours or so after it should have been called off , but off just the same
  4. well league cup matches no longer count for averages , so there's no reason why it cant be an end of season tournament
  5. Absolutely , let the league start at the beginning of April and have the cut off date at the end of August . Let the league cup be run as an end of season tournament . It's crazy the play-offs are run in October when the weather is at it's wettest .
  6. it's still on according to Noah and The Man from Atlantis at the track . However looking out my window , the rain isn't easing and it's torrential
  7. Final league match of what has been a very disappointing season on track . Still last weeks big win over the forces of darkness put a smile on everyone's face and more of the same would be a nice way of ending the campaign . Anders should be back in the team for this one , and we have Josh back as a guest at number 1 . Teams for Sunday are - Glasgow 1 Josh Grajczonek (guest) 2 Henning Bager 3 Anders Thomsen 4 James Grieves ( el capitano ) 5 Dakota North 6 Joe Jacobs 7 Joey Ringwood Plymouth 1 Mikkel Bech 2 Todd Kurtz 3 Rasmus Jensen 4 Michael Palm Toft 5 Mark Lemon (captain) 6 Jake Anderson 7 Ashley Morris ( guest )
  8. Surely you only get a facility for FIM meetings . Berwick turned up at Ashfield , on a couple of occasions in the past , minus the likes of Burza and Piotr Dym as they were riding in Poland and they had to use NL guests . So it's only reasonable to assume the same rules apply here .
  9. I suppose , still admire him for going there tonight though
  10. Barker has gone up a couple of notches in my estimation . Considering what kind of reception he'll probably receive at Armadale tonight , it would have been easier for him just to wait for Thursday's home meeting . So fair play to him in declaring himself fit for tonight . Hope he scores a maximum .
  11. Not the way messers Vissing , Sneddon and Tabaka were riding . Granted the blessed Cookie would have ridden had it been a league match , but on today's evidence the Tigers would still have won whether Thomsen had ridden or not .
  12. How do you know Anders wouldn't have scored 8 or 9 against that Moanarchs team today ? From what i saw , i think he might well have done .
  13. Not today , he was dreadful . The whole Edinburgh makeshift side were , Pijper and Wethers apart . Obviously i'm not getting carried away ,as Bellego for Thomsen strengthened us considerably , but it was still a great display from us . Joey Ringwood now appears to be becoming quite a handy reserve for us .
  14. Probably . It's a shame the blessed Cookie isn't riding today , i was looking forward to the battles between him and Grajczonek . That's took all the gloss off the meeting for me
  15. Last Sunday No , we'll be tapping David up to get our own back
  16. It's time for our monthly visit from our nearest and dearest , this time in the Scottish Cup . As usual they are led by the blessed Cookie , Vissing and Theo Pijper . We have drafted in a couple of ex-Tigers , Josh Grajczonek and David Bellego to replace the injured duo Joe Screen and Anders Thomsen . Sundays teams are - Glasgow 1 Josh Grajczonek 2 Henning Bager 3 David Bellego 4 James Grieves 5 Dakota North 6 Joe Jacobs 7 Joey Ringwood Edinburgh 1 Craig Cook 2 Derek Sneddon 3 Theo Pijper 4 Jozsef Tabaka 5 Claus Vissing 6 TBC 7 Max Fricke
  17. Strange old sport is speedway . Last week i watched a meeting that finished 70-20 and the racing was pretty good . Yesterday i watched a 45-45 draw and it was mind numbingly boring .
  18. Charlie Monk would have been my choice , though Lawson did ride 15 seasons for Glasgow . The Ken Le Breton you speak of was actually a Glasgow Giants rider . Glasgow had two teams in the early 50's , and ironically the Giants rode at the same stadium that the current Tigers use .
  19. Son of God is Richard Lawson , chucks . And he's the son of arguably the greatest Glasgow Tiger ever , Steve Lawson
  20. Would appear the Sheffield revised line up is - 1 Son of God 2 Andre Compton 3 Ricky Wells 4 r/r for Maasen 5 Aaron Summers 6 Simon Lambert 7 Facundo Albin Quite a decent line up with two Ashfield specialists as guests and r/r for the German giving either Wells ( who was excellent at our place last season ) or Summers an extra outing . Much might depend on Lambert , who has had double figure returns at Ashfield in the past , but was woeful when up with Somerset a fortnight ago .
