Glasgow Tigers V Berwick Bandits Pl 23/6/13 @3p.m.
Paulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Last one was a very decent meeting , which might have gone Berwick's way had the unfortunate Ricky Ashworth not crashed out of the meeting ( and i'm beginning to think the season ) Glasgow's team changes are very interesting and have the potential to make us a lot more competative . Berwick have more than a couple of riders who have shown a liking for the Ashfield shale in the past . Impossible to predict who might prevail tomorrow . -
After last week's individual nonsense , it's back to proper speedway this Sunday as we welcome the Bandits . With James Wright calling it a day and Harley Horwood going back home , it's a big Ashfield welcome to our new Tigers , Andre Compton and Jonas Raun . How we will line up is a mystery , but Joey Ringwood should be fit and drops to reserve . Berwick will obviously fancy joining the recent list of winning teams at Ashfield , and with the likes of Eddie Kennett , Kozza Smith , Robin Aspregen , Bellend and the lively reserve Nikki Barrett , this will be a cracking encounter .

Andre Compton Joins Glasgow

I didn't go to the individual meeting yesterday , i don't really like them , so i never heard the announcement . But from what i can gather it's family reasons . -
Andre Compton Joins Glasgow
Paulco replied to Fozzie4388's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No he wont , dont be silly . As people have said , apart from the font of all speedway knowledge above , Andre wont have to do that much to be better than James Wright . So there's not really much of a gamble as far as i can see . However , is this the oldest heat leader trio ever assembled in PL history -

Deja vu then . Did these two clubs not take an age to agree on dates for their KO Cup tie last season -

So glad you brought this up Cyclone . Sean is quite right , the supporters are behind the team . Ok we get frustrated as nobody enjoys being on a losing run and that can manifest itself with posts on here , but on the whole the fans are totally committed to the club and support what the new promotion are doing . -

I think the hope is that Patrick Nagy shows us something in the Ashfield Classic next Sunday . Mind you , how good would that be . -

Seems i'm in the minority , i enjoyed it today . Okay we were well beat by a better team , but i thought there was some decent racing . Obviously nobody was going to get near Son of God , he was a class apart . It really is now about time he stopped messing about down in Cumbria and took up his birthright . Kyle Howarth was also very impressive , overall the Comets just had too much in the tank for us . But you cant knock the effort we showed , and had we not lost Harley in heat 6 , then who knows what might have happened as he looked much better up to that point - hope the lad isn't too badly hurt . But this isn't a one season project by the new promotion , despite our current turmoils i think we are headed in the right direction . There's something magical when you see those racebibs with a big Tiger on the front that makes you feel glad you were born where you were . We'll come through this spell , of that i have no doubt . But tonight well done Workington , you were worthy winners today and your travelling fans were wonderful ambassadors for your club . -

I think the announcement is more about what sort of meeting we're having next week , but it could be " bring a friend " -

Once the early morning haze burns away , it will be a lovely afternoon . Obviously the Comets will fancy their chances of all 4 points , and all recent form suggests that . But our boys will be fired up to end this terrible run we're on . C'mon the stripes . -

Yes , the Croatian national football team know all about that -
So a fortnight after our home humiliation at the hands of " the beast from the east " , the meetings don't get any easier for our misfiring Tigers . Since the Edinburgh match we've lost the services of James Wright , who has seemingly fell out of love with the sport and has looked a shadow of his former self , and we've lost Joey Ringwood to injury which happened in that crash with Mitchell Davey . So it's Scunthorpe's impressive Ashley Birks guesting for Wright , and r/r for Ringwood . But we'll have to raise our game dramatically to get anywhere near the Comets . Couple of ex-Tigers in the Comets' ranks in the shape of Rusty Harrison , Chris Mills . And of course there's his holiness , the Son of God Richard Lawson who also is joint track record holder . Really is about time he took up his birthright . How Workington cope without their early season hero , Micky Dyer , will tell us if they can challenge for a play off place , but going by the way Glasgow have seemed to have lost their way , they must be strong favourites to claim all 4 points on offer tomorrow . Teams for Sunday - Glasgow 1Joe Screen 2 r/r for Joey Ringwood 3 Ashley Birks (guest ) 4 Henning Bager 5 James Grieves 6 Harley Horwood 7 Joe Jacobs Workington 1 Son of God 2 r/r for Terrible Aarnio 3 Rusty Harrison 4 Kyle Howarth 5 Rene Bach 6 Ashley Morris 7 Chris Mills With a favourable weather forecast , we should see quite a few clad in blue and white on the back straight tomorrow . And on all known form they should be the ones celebrating come 5 o clock .

Paulco replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Cant see why not . James is , in reality , with-holding his services . R/R for the away meetings at Plymouth and Leicester , and the home meeting with Workington , next weekend would seem our only option . After that the new averages will kick in , then we'll see where we are , who's available and who's affordable . -

Joking aside that was the worst ever home performance i've seen from a Tigers team in my life . Woeful doesn't come close to describing it . A score like that would be bad enough at the dump , but at home Joe Screen cant take on teams on his own , especially not teams as good as the binmen . Today , sadly , highlighted the gulf between the two Scottish sides . Looked a pretty decent crowd in the stadium today as well , despite the Scottish Cup final and Cyclone not being able to make it . Plenty thinking to be done in our camp ahead of our next home meeting against Workington in a fortnight . We've been patient , we've praised our new promotion for their efforts to make the club a success and we've backed the team . After this weekend's toothless performances , that team has come to the end of the road . Who we can attract ? Who is available ? And are they affordable ? Is something messers Biggart , Pairman and the directors will have to address before the season implodes and the Red Revolution bandwagon comes off it's wheels . -

Dont think we can attach any blame to the track , we could have had this meeting in Bydgoszcz and the result would have been the same . We are just not competative away from home , simple as that
