  1. Only a sense of glee Personally i walk around with a semi when that happens
  2. Just about sums the meeting up , it wasn't great . Our gating was terrible today , perfectly summed up in heat 15 when Bellego and Lawson got to the 1st bend about 4 bike lengths ahead of us . I honestly cant see where the next win is coming from . Yes Berwick deserved it , but no disrespect to them , they're no better than a mid table outfit . The top teams would have slaughtered us today
  3. There's no better rider in the Premier League round Ashfield than the Son of God . Him for Kennett is a huge plus , however the loss of Barrett more than offsets that - he is pretty much irreplaceable at reserve . Lewis Blackbird had a very good meeting when Scunthorpe were up and would be the best option if available . Don't think it's to be constant rain today , what we have now is showers and longer periods of brightness . I think that will be what we will get all day - it all depends on the length and severity of those showers .
  4. Certainly no danger of that . Pretty overcast in the Glasgow area this morning , though it is dry now after heavy overnight rain . Forecast isn't too clear , but i'm hopeful
  5. I was hoping for Compton at 4 , his experience could be vital in a heat 14 of a tight meeting
  6. He's competative when he gates , forget about him when he doesn't . His away form was pretty awful . He looked a lot quicker that day he crashed against Workington , but i'm really not sure that he'll be back or not .
  7. Ah well , surely Berwick will be able to call up a decent guest . Along the lines of Son of God or Edinburgh's GP superstar
  8. Why has that GP Challenge meeting today been rained off and put back till tomorrow ?
  9. Last one was a very decent meeting , which might have gone Berwick's way had the unfortunate Ricky Ashworth not crashed out of the meeting ( and i'm beginning to think the season ) Glasgow's team changes are very interesting and have the potential to make us a lot more competative . Berwick have more than a couple of riders who have shown a liking for the Ashfield shale in the past . Impossible to predict who might prevail tomorrow .
  10. After last week's individual nonsense , it's back to proper speedway this Sunday as we welcome the Bandits . With James Wright calling it a day and Harley Horwood going back home , it's a big Ashfield welcome to our new Tigers , Andre Compton and Jonas Raun . How we will line up is a mystery , but Joey Ringwood should be fit and drops to reserve . Berwick will obviously fancy joining the recent list of winning teams at Ashfield , and with the likes of Eddie Kennett , Kozza Smith , Robin Aspregen , Bellend and the lively reserve Nikki Barrett , this will be a cracking encounter .
  11. I didn't go to the individual meeting yesterday , i don't really like them , so i never heard the announcement . But from what i can gather it's family reasons .
  12. No he wont , dont be silly . As people have said , apart from the font of all speedway knowledge above , Andre wont have to do that much to be better than James Wright . So there's not really much of a gamble as far as i can see . However , is this the oldest heat leader trio ever assembled in PL history
  13. To me it makes perfect sense considering they're down south anyway
  14. Deja vu then . Did these two clubs not take an age to agree on dates for their KO Cup tie last season
  15. So glad you brought this up Cyclone . Sean is quite right , the supporters are behind the team . Ok we get frustrated as nobody enjoys being on a losing run and that can manifest itself with posts on here , but on the whole the fans are totally committed to the club and support what the new promotion are doing .
  16. I think the hope is that Patrick Nagy shows us something in the Ashfield Classic next Sunday . Mind you , how good would that be .
  17. Seems i'm in the minority , i enjoyed it today . Okay we were well beat by a better team , but i thought there was some decent racing . Obviously nobody was going to get near Son of God , he was a class apart . It really is now about time he stopped messing about down in Cumbria and took up his birthright . Kyle Howarth was also very impressive , overall the Comets just had too much in the tank for us . But you cant knock the effort we showed , and had we not lost Harley in heat 6 , then who knows what might have happened as he looked much better up to that point - hope the lad isn't too badly hurt . But this isn't a one season project by the new promotion , despite our current turmoils i think we are headed in the right direction . There's something magical when you see those racebibs with a big Tiger on the front that makes you feel glad you were born where you were . We'll come through this spell , of that i have no doubt . But tonight well done Workington , you were worthy winners today and your travelling fans were wonderful ambassadors for your club .
  18. I think the announcement is more about what sort of meeting we're having next week , but it could be " bring a friend "
