  1. Thanks for the explanation Mr Blobby Pity some aren't quite so friendly
  2. So what was the strop on the Chatzone all about when the Golden Child got excluded by the " Weegie " ref ?
  3. Considering Ipswich are at Workington on Saturday night , i think it's safe to assume he'll be staying up north
  4. Reality has obviously kicked in . My brother got a wee bit overexcited about nearly beating an understrength mid table outfit .
  5. There's not much to chose between the two , both are perfectly adequate . There is far worse in the PL than both of those
  6. Sunday May 5th . That was the last time we had a setback in our quest for that coveted speedway trophy , the wooden spoon . That day we , somehow , beat title contenders Newcastle . But since then we have got our spoon quest back on track with a long line of defeats . This week's recipients of away points are the Ipswich Witches led by Ben Barker , Rohan Tungate and Leigh Lanham . The last time Tungate was up here , he ended up in hospital with an injury in an embarrassing place , this time things should have a more favourable ending . Glasgow continue to stumble along in glorious mediocrity , and it's hard to see us seriously troubling the Witches in what is surely a crucial away fixture in their play-off quest . We're having an armed forces day at Glasgow this Sunday , so maybe a couple of carefully aimed scud missiles into the Ipswich side of the pits might give us a fighting chance
  7. Really disappointing . Cant see anything other than the wooden spoon for us this season .
  8. I'm quite sure a tennis final or even the final round of the British Open golf ( which regularly clashes with the speedway too ) isn't a major consideration when compiling fixtures . There's also the British F1 GP clashing with this Sunday's meeting , plus the Eastenders omnibus on a Sunday . Seems the only reasonable course of action is to switch to a Friday night at Glasgow , to avoid all these sporting clashes .
  9. I think Cyclone means some of his least favourite Scottish people coming over from the west posing as Lions fans As if we'd do such a thing
  10. Only a sense of glee Personally i walk around with a semi when that happens
  11. Just about sums the meeting up , it wasn't great . Our gating was terrible today , perfectly summed up in heat 15 when Bellego and Lawson got to the 1st bend about 4 bike lengths ahead of us . I honestly cant see where the next win is coming from . Yes Berwick deserved it , but no disrespect to them , they're no better than a mid table outfit . The top teams would have slaughtered us today
  12. There's no better rider in the Premier League round Ashfield than the Son of God . Him for Kennett is a huge plus , however the loss of Barrett more than offsets that - he is pretty much irreplaceable at reserve . Lewis Blackbird had a very good meeting when Scunthorpe were up and would be the best option if available . Don't think it's to be constant rain today , what we have now is showers and longer periods of brightness . I think that will be what we will get all day - it all depends on the length and severity of those showers .
  13. Certainly no danger of that . Pretty overcast in the Glasgow area this morning , though it is dry now after heavy overnight rain . Forecast isn't too clear , but i'm hopeful
  14. I was hoping for Compton at 4 , his experience could be vital in a heat 14 of a tight meeting
  15. He's competative when he gates , forget about him when he doesn't . His away form was pretty awful . He looked a lot quicker that day he crashed against Workington , but i'm really not sure that he'll be back or not .
  16. Ah well , surely Berwick will be able to call up a decent guest . Along the lines of Son of God or Edinburgh's GP superstar
  17. Why has that GP Challenge meeting today been rained off and put back till tomorrow ?
  18. Last one was a very decent meeting , which might have gone Berwick's way had the unfortunate Ricky Ashworth not crashed out of the meeting ( and i'm beginning to think the season ) Glasgow's team changes are very interesting and have the potential to make us a lot more competative . Berwick have more than a couple of riders who have shown a liking for the Ashfield shale in the past . Impossible to predict who might prevail tomorrow .
  19. After last week's individual nonsense , it's back to proper speedway this Sunday as we welcome the Bandits . With James Wright calling it a day and Harley Horwood going back home , it's a big Ashfield welcome to our new Tigers , Andre Compton and Jonas Raun . How we will line up is a mystery , but Joey Ringwood should be fit and drops to reserve . Berwick will obviously fancy joining the recent list of winning teams at Ashfield , and with the likes of Eddie Kennett , Kozza Smith , Robin Aspregen , Bellend and the lively reserve Nikki Barrett , this will be a cracking encounter .
  20. I didn't go to the individual meeting yesterday , i don't really like them , so i never heard the announcement . But from what i can gather it's family reasons .
