  1. If you witness tomorrow what we saw today , then you're in for a treat . But sadly i think we'll probably struggle round Brough .
  2. That was awesome today , never came out of Glasgow buzzing about the speedway like this for years . Credit to both sides for an amazing 15 heats of speedway . The highlight being heat 13 , although it was painful for us you have to credit Stuart Robson for riding an unbelievable race to pass both Screen and then Grieves . And what about young Joe Jacobs , how this lad is progressing . When both Diamonds gated in heat 14 i thought the game was up for us , but young Joe brought the house down by passing both of them . The older Joe then clinched the points in heat 15 , but that ride in heat 14 really won us the meeting . Bager struggling again was the only lowpoint for us and Lindgren was much the same for the Diamonds . But overall speedway was the winner today . Whatever was done to our track during the winter has done the trick and we are now watching some fantastic speedway .
  3. A dry and bright start to the day , for anyone thinking of travelling north .
  4. He had a very good night at Scunny a couple of years ago too . Does ok at Somerset on occasion . Struggles on most other tracks , especially the smaller circuits . Too lightweight in a tight first corners to progress much further than he is now .
  5. Losing Cook and Dyer is a big blow to the Comets' chances . I take the Bandits to return to winning ways at home .
  6. I think it's barking mad , but i'll find out how you get free tickets for the dump for me and the lads that i'll be ....erm introducing to the sport haha
  7. Koppe looks set to join the likes of Jayden O'Malley , Michael Penfold and Ricky Wallace in the Aussie speedway hall of shame .
  8. Agree that's a worry regarding Wright . He seems to have become the proverbial gating tart at this stage of his career , and his eagerness at the tapes will have to be tempered .
  9. Have Leicester dropped him then ? I was just reading in the Speedway Star today that him and Robert Branford were sharing the number 7 Lions racejacket .
  10. After Dave Peat's interview last night , i would expect at least one reserve change . Don't see young Bates rolling up at the dump on Friday
  11. Rene Bach sounds like a proper Geordie Who'd be a referee . One angle it looked like Howe took Dyer's front wheel , another angle showed Dyer turn into Howe . Shame they can't have all 4 back after the first bend , because this was just one of those unfortunate racing incidents .
  12. So it's a bank holiday weekend , that means the Geordies come calling . Berwick , Rye House and Redcar have been despatched from the new , improved Ashfield , but this will be our sternest test so far . Newcastle came close to winning the lot last year , only an injury to Richie Worrall prevented that happening . Still topping the league and winning the KO Cup wasn't too shabby . Newcastle have assembled another strong side this year and have started well despite losing Two Track to injury on their press and practice day . Adding another track to his CV proved a tad difficult . But as Ashfield wasn't one of his two tracks , r/r could prove troublesome . It's much the same Newcastle team as last season . The largest nose in speedway has moved to the south coast , but most of last season's squad return . Stuart Robson is always a handful round Ashy , as is returning Glasgow title winning hero Christian Henry . The Worrall twins , Richie and the other one , are back in the side along with the lesser Lindgren and young Lewis Kerr , who seems to have sprung from nowhere to post some impressive scores . Yes we'll need to be firing on all cylinders to get the better of this lot . Teams should be - Glasgow 1 Joe Screen 2 Joey Ringwood 3 James Wright 4 Henning Bager 5 James Grieves 6 Harley Horwood 7 Joe Jacobs Newcastle 1 Stuart Robson 2 R/R for Two Track 3 Christian Henry 4 The lesser Lindgren 5 Richie Worrall 6 Lewis Kerr 7 The other Worrall
  13. It's not personal against Bomber as such . The British Final was on life support before the GP wildcard was introduced into the mix . That brought back the public interest into the meeting and gave the riders an extra aim . If Harris had won the event or finished runner up to Woffinden , then fine nobody would have had a problem with that . But just to hand the wildcard to him is very poor and unfair on the other 14 riders in the British Final . I just hope now someone like Danny King or Eddie Kennett wins the British Final to heap more embarrassment onto this decision .
  14. A minor gripe , on the whole the racing was very good . Berwick have much to live up to , but i wish them well .
  15. That seems to be the general consensus regarding last night . It was a terrific meeting .
  16. He needs to ditch that Australian accent though and go back to talking like a farmer .
  17. No she wasn't on the mic today at all . Good hard fought win today , the rain sort of killed the entertainment factor a bit . But what can you say about Screeny , absolutely majestic today . His pass on Kus during heat 15 was breathtaking , still life in the old dog yet . We were solid throughout , especially young Joe Jacobs . The lad is coming along brilliantly , and his ride in heat 12 was fantastic and went a long way to securing the points . Redcar put on a great show and fully deserved their point , especially after losing a cert 5-1 in heat 14 when Wilkinson packed up .
  18. It's been showery , but they're forecast to die out . Last Sunday , after the heavy shower , showed the track can cope with the odd shower or two
  19. I honestly don't see the cup final impacting too much on the crowd . Most Tigers fans put the speedway first whilst you don't get too many travelling through from the east these days anyway .
