  1. Made our own entertainment in the POW , before heading to the stadium at 5 to 5 . Wouldn't bother myself with all that singing nonsense when there's ale to be had .
  2. Our coach was parked down near the parliament building . When i walked back to it after the GP , there was an army of traffic wardens swarming round all the cars that were parked on the grassy bits . There was also a big , fat , drunken English bloke giving them dog's abuse What a way to entend the welcome branch to visiters to your country . p.s . how was the hangover this morning SCB
  3. Oh for christ sakes If they're all using them - what's the problem ?
  4. They were only talking about " winding it all on " whatever that does . Must be important though as they mentioned it at least half a dozen times during each race .
  5. Is there a point to this thread ? We've got Tony Millard , but you don't see any threads started about him ..................well on second thoughts
  6. had to skive off work this afternoon . Was fed up

  7. Depressing thread , but i suppose it could happen to any of us at any time . We've lived a charmed life in Glasgow as we are now operating out of our 7th home in my lifetime ( and i'm not counting the brief tenancy in Workington in 1987 ) . Probably the most nomadic team in British Speedway history , but we're still there and long may that continue .
  8. It is . We always stayed in Newport , as we used to ride there on the Friday night , but found the traffic a complete nightmare trying to get to Somerset for the Pairs - hence the move to Bristol .
  9. No Drac , that's only our billet for when the Tigers are at Somerset . We either stay in Newport or , as we did last year , Bristol when it's GP weekend .
  10. That's where we stay when we're down for Somerset v Glasgow meetings . Nice friendly wee place and you get a cracking breakfast .
  11. I think it's a wonderful idea . Fixing it in would be easy too , as there are too many Tigers/Monarchs meetings anyway and the Spring Trophy could easily be consigned to the dustbin ( where that hideous trophy deserves to be btw ) . Would be a great curtain raiser , we could have one test each on both Scottish tracks .
  12. Looks like the Rebels could have a star on their hands .
  13. You jest surely young lady . They'll be back arguing which decade 1965 was in next .
  14. What was it they were called then ? Was it Archers ? I know they were Invaders , but that was much later .
  15. Great , we had a great time back at our hotel last year , thanks to getting there around tenish ( i think ) . Still plenty time beforehand for a few beers and catch up with people . Roll on July .
  16. I'm quite sure if England find themselves in it , it will be a more relevant match than the final itself .
  17. The best is yet to come . Once we have a Scottish GP at Hampden Park , that will blow all that Polish nonsense away .
  18. Erm , i don't know any non-speedway fan who watches the GP 's . In fact i know quite a few speedway fans who have stopped watching the GP's , and it's got absolutely nothing to do with the amount of Brits competing .
  19. Because they're Brits my boy . In the continued travesty of the two best candidates , Lee Dicken and Stuart Swales , once again being ignored - Woffinden and Harris have been installed as the candidates to show Johnny Foreigner how it's done .
  20. I couldn't really care less as the GP's have become dullsville .
