  1. TWK, I thought Tsunami was your favourite poster, or have you had another tiff over him using the last of the milk, leaving you none for your cornflakes at breakfast. All the best Rob
  2. I will verify, but I don't think there is one. The riders all have opportunites to practice at the EWR, while the photos will be taken prior to the opening meeting. All the best Rob
  3. Premier Shield: Newcastle Premier League Play-Offs: Scunny First Place (at end of regular season): Scunny Premier League Cup: Scunny Premier League KO Cup: Scunny Premier League Riders Championship: Josh Auty Premier League Pairs: Somerset Premier League Fours: Peterborough Finally, The Wooden Spoon! Plymouth All the best Rob
  4. Are you seriously suggesting a place earmarked for a young British rider should be given to Lee Dicken? Lee's a great chap, and I'm sure he himself would prefer the place to go to the youngster. After all, who knows, it may be Kean Dicken (Lee's son) who gets such an opportunity in a few years time... The Scunthorpe Stags are all about developing riders. Steve Jones is already in there to help the other six. All the best Rob
  5. But boring people to death with repititive threads also makes a very dull forum. All the best Rob
  6. It was mentioned around a hundred times during last year's coverage than Ales Dryml was defending champion, so my guess is that he's won it. Beyond that, you have a very good point. All the best Rob
  7. Shouldn't there be a full stop at the end of that sentence? EDIT: And it's also missing two commas i.e. Christ, as a literacy teacher, I despair sometimes. I despair about literacy teachers sometimes. All the best Rob
  8. The first rider announcement is planned for a week today. There will then be plenty of Stags news leading up to the new season. All the best Rob
  9. Heat 20 with Roman Matousek was epic. Otherwise I'm glad Hans had his gating head on that night. And our somewhat cocky but correct "All the rest will be feeling blue, when Hans and Wiggy finish one and two" banner got a mention in the Speedway Star the following week All the best Rob
  10. I've really enjoyed the in-depth features on the past British World Champions during the winter. But the Speedway Star really excelled itself with the Andrew Skeels feature on Tai Woffinden, with interviews with Tai, family and friends. It's impossible not to like this young man. It's been a fantastic series and really added to the winter read of the Star. All the best Rob
  11. Erm... wasn't this why this thread was started around 70 posts ago. All the best Rpb
  12. Duggan was at his best during 1946-1949. Notice no-one has mentioned Lionel Van Praag as yet? All the best Rob
  13. In addition to everyone's memories, also all the references to the 1982 Golden Hammer say Penhall missed his first race, because he was travelling back from filming Superstars. Will have a quick look through the Speedway Stars from 1982 later on as well. It looks like a fan-compiled list as opposed to anything professional - they must have accidently omitted Bruce. All the best Rob
  14. I think Wilkinson was the class performer pre-war. Obviously Farndon was a quality act as well, although his poor test match record lets him down a bit. All the best Rob
  15. Been looking forward to the Andy Skeels piece on Tai Woffinden. All the best Rob
  16. Well I used to be a huge Penhall fan, and I have no doubts whatsoever that he was on it. I don't remember PC because I wasn't old enough to remember that one, but Penhall was 100% on it. He managed to capsize his canoe. All the best Rob
  17. The list is wrong. People - I'm one of them - remember Bruce Penhall being on it. EDIT: The Abbott, if you're so confident he wasn't in it, I'll bet you £1,000 that he was. Deal? All the best Rob
  18. Bruce Penhall capsized in Superstars... he was definitely on it. All the best Rob
  19. I was trying to tell the Cov fans all last season that Zengota was cr*p but they wouldn't listen to me. This is proof - most of the points he got were thirds in front of his own team-mate, on the wrong end of a 5-1. All the best Rob
  20. I might let some other people have a go now All the best Rob
  21. Maybe Getting much harder now... Bjerre/Fisher Wofinden/Proctor Ward/Strachya Holder/Andersson Karlsson/Nilsson All the best Rob
  22. Birks/Gomolski Howarth/Tungate Pedersen/Lahti Korneliussen/Klindt Dryml/Gitzatulin All the best Rob
  23. Zengota/Summers Bridger/Swiderski Kasprzak/Szczpaniak Kildemand/Morris Andersen/Kennett Doyle/Smolinski Barker/King All the best Rob
  24. Nicholls and Kasprzak... surely Errr...... A bit more thought... Cook/Wolbert Kornelissen/Worrall Ostergaard/Dryml Zengota/Robson All the best Rob
