Thank you.

Which league did Becker not do last year? I know he definitely done Denmark and Poland, did he miss Sweden?
-
But that deal was already done. Maybe the last rider is too I donāt know. You also have to look at value for money. Jack may be expensive, but they may feel heās the one rider worth pushing the boat out for. If Pickering is after similar money (and Iām not saying he is), then maybe they feel that isnāt value for money as heās not in that class of rider. Doyle was very expensive at Ipswich, someone mentioned earlier that Pickering was asking for similar to what Doyle was getting. None of us really know the finer points, but there plenty of people who claim Pickering is demanding big money so thereās probably an element of truth in that.
-
Assuming Pickering and Kurtz are in at Sheffield at Belle Vue, neither Brennan or Lawson has a ride in the Premiership. You'd have to think theyāll almost certainly be Ipswich bound unless the sixth club materialises. If they are, you also have to wonder what kind of team the sixth club could realistically put together. There just isnāt enough riders of the calibre needed to have a bigger league as much as everyone would like it. Lawson Rew Musielak Becker Brennan Gusts/3 pointer Edwards If Ipswich went with something like that, who is left for Northampton/a.n.other?
-
Maybe it wonāt be Pickering? If heās demanding the big bucks that some are suggesting, maybe after yesterdayās news they may now go for a cheaper rider. TBF, thereās a few options still there that would in all likelihood be cheaper.
-
Just canāt see a world where Lawson isnāt riding in the Premiership so itās surely either Ipswich, or mystery team number 6.

He said only yesterday on local radio that he wants out of the sport, and wants a lifestyle change.

Iām with you here Iāve never understood the issue either! Why does it matter if Harris rides for a different club, in a different league, and against totally different opposition? How does that affect Kings Lynn in a totally different league? The answer is it doesnāt. Itās far worse to have Premiership riders, guesting for a different Premiership team against teams that are in the same division as you! Having one of your team helping out a rival whom youāre competing against and potentially helping them gain a play off place at your expense, has always seemed bonkers to me and far more damaging to the Sports credibility. -
He did say āwork was well underwayā on the team in the update last week so who knows whether that meant he was working on it, or he knew the potential new owners were working on it. Very much doubt though weāll see any rider confirmed until the sale has been completed. Still lots of questions unanswered. Are some of the current team (as in the volunteers who helped Chris at the club) staying around in their roles? Or are the new people going to have an awful lot to do and find a new track man, presenter, etc as well as a new team manager? These were all very loyal to Chris Louis as much as Ipswich Speedway.

Thanks for the link Badge. Well this is quite interesting to me because I was convinced he would be running things on behalf of the new people/person, at least in the short term but that doesnāt seem to be the case. I was also pretty sure he was involved still in putting the team together but reading that Iām not convinced thatās the case either! He really doesnāt seem to want anything to do with the sport anymore which is a surprise Iām sure to many! That stance may change in the future who knows.

Maybe GM, maybe not! Iāll believe it when I see it this time after the last fiasco. I still remember the official website posting pictures of Louis shaking Busters hand and the headline āWitches soldā. Weeks and then months went by and nothing further was ever said. We now know that Buster backed out of that deal, but nobody said a word, it was all just swept under the carpet as if nothing happened and Louis just carried on as usual!
-
I hope so speedy. Itās great that weāre still running and the loyal fans will still have their speedway on a Thursday donāt get me wrong, but itāll still need to be an attractive side to entice the fence sitters (I consider myself one of those) to attend regularly again instead of picking the odd meeting here and there. Itās already a less appealing league than it was even last year due to losing two clubs and a reduced team limit, so itās gonna need a star man at the top of the team to prevent a big drop off in attendance IMO. Thereās likely to be a drop off regardless due to the reasons Iāve said, plus losing two hugely popular riders in Emil and Doyle so itās a damage limitation job to try and prevent the drop off from being too severe.
-
Almost signed him to replace Doyle in 2024. Canāt see it now though and I think itās going to have to be a totally different strategy to the one weāre used to seeing in recent years.
-
Probably Louis Iād have thought. Think some deals were already done early doors so theyāll probably be resurrected if those riders are still available. Wonder if Vaculik could be tempted? Only has one club in Poland as far as I can see, nothing in Sweden or Denmark and of course, no GPās now either. Needs more racing than that surely?

Or third option, Sheffield have someone else other than Chris Holder. Iām surprised Rew hasnāt been snapped up as yet. Big fan personally and so much more to come. Another great result for him today https://fimspeedway.com/news/rew-claims-fim-oceania-crown

https://fimspeedway.com/en/riders/tai-woffinden The FIM website has Woffinden a Sheffield rider. A mistake? Initially thought they could be the riders 2025 clubs, but thereās no Ipswich on Doyleās and Fricke has Lynn as his GB club.. https://fimspeedway.com/sgp/riders
