Think it’s got to the stage where they’re not gonna block Birmingham from signing anyone or reinstating someone whether it’s in the rules or not. They’re blatantly dying on their @rse and need as much help as they can. I know there a lot who go by the “rules are rules” motto but even they can turn a blind eye on this occasion surely.

I said the other day, the team who finishes top should be champions, top four contest an end of season knockout cup, two semis and a final.

Must admit it was a bit of an eye opener to me reading on here a Birmingham supporter saying crowds were up on last year, but still not hitting the 1000 mark! 😳 That just isn’t sustainable I’m afraid.

Ipswich ‘Witches’ vs King’s Lynn ‘Stars’ - Monday 5th May
Aries replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-guide-kings-lynn-h/ Hawkins also mentions here about losing some home advantage due to the conditions being different to an evening meeting although we’ve coped well with it recently. Definitely looks to be more of a competitive meeting than the others we’ve had at home so far. Looking forward to it. -

I accept it’s always dangerous to put your head on the chopping block because you’ll always get quoted after the event and look a fool, but Dan will score more than 3 points I’m as certain as you can be about that.. This is tricky for a few reasons, rider replacement strengthens Lynn up on this occasion because Ben Cook historically just can’t ride the place. Kvech and Klindt certainly can. Lynn have a fair few good trappers in their side. Klindt, Lawson, NKI can all trap well and with it being an afternoon meeting and the track will likely be slick, it should suit them. Ellis and Brennan are a good pair for us especially at Foxhall, but the Lawson/Kvech middle order looks as though it will cause us problems and looks a strong pairing. Still expect us to win the meeting, but I’ll go 50-40. Edit: Klindt should be getting the first R/R ride in heat 1 if they have any sense. Get him dialled in straight away for heat two. Also makes sense for him to get a ride straight away as he’ll likely be a busy boy and get 7 rides. -
Remains to be seen. It’s only really been this year and last that we’ve challenged. The season before that we only just scraped in to the play offs by a minor miracle when Leicester got battered at Peterborough in their final meeting..

Not as much as you think they do. If they pump so much money in, why did Chris Louis try to sell Ipswich to Buster a few years ago when Tru were the sponsors? Buster done a u turn a few weeks later and Chris Louis kept the club running. There is a poster here who I know you’ve spoken to because he’s told me, who has told you Tru are not great payers.

Ipswich are favourites this year, and Chris Louis is the owner. Do you think Chris Louis is rich Phil?

Nobody has said it has you insufferable bore!

Isn’t that what we effectively already have though? With all due respect, very few if any of the rising stars would be selected in six man teams so if we just stopped using the rising stars it would make little to no difference. Teams would just use their current top six. Unless they went with a top five, and then a rising star at Six and lowered the limit forcing teams to release or not use, one of their better riders.

I’m more interested in seeing the outside line tried! They’ve worked hard sorting out the camber during the winter and actually giving the track some better banking, but it hasn’t been tested yet so we’ve no idea if it’s made any improvement! I’m sure Bomber will put it to the test Monday. If he doesn’t then nobody will.

Birmingham v Leicester Premiership Monday April 28th

This seems to be the case just about everywhere at the moment. It’s been an uncharacteristically dry spring so not sure if that has played a part in getting tracks prepared for racing. It’s definitely becoming a common theme that’s for sure. -

I’ve long since given up trying to understand the rules, so thanks for at least giving it a go. -

Not sold on Zischke at all personally. Seems to be a one trick pony. His home average around Workington was excellent, his away average not so much. The NSS suits him also so I can definitely see him picking up around there, but he seems to like a certain type of track, and looks lost on the rest especially in the top flight. May seem harsh as he’s young and hasn’t yet been given a fair crack of the whip so we’ll see, but I’m far from convinced. Take your point on Rowe, don’t think anyone expects him to carry on the way he’s started the season and shouldn’t be expected to, but he certainly looks as though he’ll improve again on last year and continue his progression. Sheffield look the better bet to me but as ever the proof will be in the pudding.

Really? Not sure myself. Surely nobody really wants to see two clubs getting beat every week and in turn see their crowd numbers drop off a cliff putting them in even further financial trouble. I’d personally rather see them winning some meetings and being competitive, over a battle for fourth place.
