They don’t strike me as the kind of owners/management that will make changes easily. Bangs was probably an extreme case and you get the impression they didn’t really wanna drop him either. They seem to like/want to back their riders as long as possible which although could become irritating to supporters in the long term especially if certain riders aren’t performing, it’s difficult to criticise.

I feel the same. I’ve already mentally checked out of this season. Even if we finish fourth we ain’t gonna win it so Lynn can have it if they want 😁

Foxhall crowds are down too. Combination of having a poor team this year and losing the two popular heatleaders, and the new streaming service will tempt some to save a tenna and watch at home instead.

Good luck to Pedersen let’s see if he can grab his chance to impress. And good luck to Bangs too hope he gets fixed up in the Championship and rediscovers his true form. There’s no question he’s a much better rider than what we’ve seen.

If one of the Northampton “directors” or whatever he calls himself, knew of Doyle’s availability, he should have been directing him there. I think now it’s pretty clear to everyone that help was initially there from certain people, to make a top league viable and nothing else. Not, to actually help that new club be competitive.

Actually it isn’t. From a fans point of view, absolutely. But I’ll tell you now there’s an awful lot of riders that hate going there. Doyle is one of them! Until now of course.. Doyle has admitted he missed racing here and wanted to come back. If Mark Lemon said to Doyle there’s one vacancy here, at Northampton, and he offered him the same deal he has for riding for Belle Vue, then he’d now be riding for Northampton it’s as simple as that. Can you imagine the impact the former world champion would have had at a new club trying to establish themselves?? It would have been HUGE for them and their gate receipts. But that didn’t happen did it? Why? You’ve even got supporters now saying they want Northampton to win their home meetings “but not this week” (sorry Phil”) so there’s always going to be self interest across the board from the top to the bottom. We all want our teams to win of course we do, that’s only natural! But we also need a creditable league so that’s a league worth winning. Belle Vue are already sure of the play offs, would it really hurt to see Northampton win a home meeting to help with their next home attendance to keep them going rather than see your team extend their lead at the top of a meaningless table? Im not saying lose it deliberately, we can’t have that nonsense either, but hoping to inflict another home defeat on the bottom club? Come on we need Northampton to succeed as well as try and entice others to join. If those lower down think the likes of Belle Vue, my own team Ipswich, and Sheffield will just hoover up all the GP riders available then they’ll have no interest in joining if they won’t be competitive. Bring in a one rider over 8 rule for next year.

Correct. Ideally you pick him up after one of his bad seasons and on a cheap average, when you’ve built a strong team and challenging. Glad to have him of course, but does seem a bit of a waste this year if you get my drift. Average will surely be a bit more hefty next year.

Think we all knew they’d finish bottom. They had even less to pick from than Ipswich! I agree with you even though I’m an Ipswich supporter. I wouldn’t have minded one bit if Northampton picked up the win here, we’re not going to win it this year anyway. Where is the “help” that was said they’d be getting if results weren’t forthcoming? They need some home results, the whole league needs Northampton to get home results. Doyle would have been very handy for them..

Tis true I’m afraid. Everyone is different I suppose and you’d hope that wouldn’t be the case. You get paid what you score at the end of the day (unless you’re on some kind of guarantee) but he does seem to need to be motivated.

Simply a must win for Lynn I think even at this stage. An Ipswich win will probably be the nail in the coffin for Lynn. Not that it really matters for either club in the big scheme of things. Either club will be there just to make up the numbers this year.

As he said in his interview, there’s certain A list clubs that you want to ride for, and Ipswich is one of them. A happy Musielak at a good club is a fine rider. It’s when he’s at a club that isn’t particularly well run that he loses interest pretty quickly.
