  1. What about being declared fit to ride, but then gently slipping off in your first ride and then “aggravating” an old injury and being unable to continue?
  2. Bit of rain around Ipswich Thursday. Could do with a rain off tbh
  3. Beat me to it. Think he’ll give it a go. Brave lad..
  4. Difficult to prove either way isn’t it? It happened earlier in the season. He WAS struggling with a bit of an injury at that time though if my memory isn’t letting me down, but it’s something that’s open to abuse. It’s basically a free tactical substitute isn’t it? A rider at rising star shouldn’t in any circumstances, be replaced by a senior reserve. If a rising star is injured and can’t take remaining programmed rides, then that team has to take the bad luck and go with one rider.
  5. Wonder if we”ll see a repeat of Boughen pulling out after a ride(s), and a GP rider taking his remaining programmed rides….
  6. Not sure Jenkins is in good form? He’s struggling a little with a reoccurring injury that he’s aggravated recently. Pulled out of his last ride for Oxford last week. There were two tracks I was almost sure Ipswich would be winning at, one is Leicester, and the other is here. Our riders go very well at both tracks. But that was with a full strength side. We’ve lost the worst two riders we could have at both important ends of the team. Thompson was averaging more than Emil this year and second in our averages behind Doyle. When he’s replaced by someone scoring two or three points at reserve, that’s a huge swing in the overall score.
  7. I personally think this gets overplayed. Harris is nowhere near as bad as his reputation suggests. Emil on the other hand, is one of the worst gaters I’ve ever seen. It may well be his diminutive size meaning he can’t get his weight over the top of the bike to fully let the clutch go, but his starting technique is awful.
  8. Harris is a better gater than Emil! I’m not kidding either. Take your point about the Lynn track, he may feel confident enough to give it a bit more of a go with the wider surface we’ll see.
  9. Can’t see Emil hitting 16 either. I think it’s time to accept that this Emil isn’t the same Emil we saw before his crash at Sheffield. He’s clearly riding within himself and not taking any risks. He’s sat behind reserves this year and shut off the throttle when he’s got to their back wheel, sitting behind gusts at Foxhall for four laps a prime example. This will be an issue because Emil if often outgated and it’s the weakest part of his game. Lynn also have good trappers in the team so I’m not expecting him to hit the same big numbers he has the last couple of seasons. The gloves will probably come off in September for the play offs when the Polish season ends which I suppose is all that matters.
  10. I’ll be absolutely staggered if Brennan, King and Ellis only muster 17 between the three of them. Lynn is one of their better away tracks.
  11. Lynn are woefully slow in getting previews and information out at the best of times. I know the Ipswich admin has been left frustrated many times in recent seasons waiting for declarations from Lynn so the Ipswich admin could get the meeting previews up. Wouldn’t bet against them already knowing he’ll not ride tomorrow if he is intent on not riding. We’ll probably find out at some point tomorrow.
  12. Was gonna say the same. He held his hands up and admitted he got it wrong so fair play to him for that. His honesty was refreshing.
  13. Couldn’t agree more! Helped out myself in the past. On a hiding to nothing really.
  14. That’s thrown a lifeline to Kings Lynn. Very unexpected result. Well done Birmingham fair play.
  15. Even with the injury issues I didn’t see Leicester beating us at home either. We’re having a bit of a wobble at the moment and the two missing are the worst possible absentees at the top and bottom of the team.
  16. Just looked at this years stats, Dan averaging 8 with bonus this season, and averaging MORE than Emil away from Foxhall so far 😳 Lynn have a golden chance to make the final of the Cup. And once in the final, anything can happen. There’s only two trophies to go for so even if Lynn don’t make the play offs, if they can walk off with the KOC then it’s been a successful season. More so than us cos despite being big favourites, could end up walking away with nothing.
  17. We’ve got to weather the storm here for a while. You’d think we’ll be without Doyle for a few weeks more now after last nights setback and Dan is a massive miss. Brennan also is suffering a real dip in form, not sure what’s wrong with him at the moment. The important thing is to have everyone fit and firing for the play offs but the KOC has come at a poor time for us. Was a forgone conclusion that we were getting through that tie with Lynn with all due respect, but now I’d say it’s 50/50. It’s now we need Emil to stand up and be counted. He’s looked untouchable for the majority of the last two seasons hitting maximums for fun, but he’s looked a level below that this year.
  18. Correct. Complaining of pain “in the same area”. Why not just wait another week or two? Bloody daft to be risking the injury with so much of the season to go whether he was getting pressure from Poland or not. Ordinary riders would have simply managed the injury by backing out of 50/50’s and not taking any chances but that’s not in his DNA is it. It’s all or nothing with him.
  19. Bit of a red herring that. The team was obliterated by injury and Ellis then crashed out of the meeting in his opening ride.
  20. Have you mentioned October before? Not sure if you’ve mentioned it or not 🙄
  21. Without changes? I bet it doesn’t.
  22. You said it. I’m not trawling through old threads, but you 100% said it. Your exact words were “I’m confident my team is the best what’s wrong with that” in response to someone heckling you over your predictions.
