  1. No preview of the meeting on the rye house website. What a poor show from a 'professional' motor sport promotion.
  2. This is one occasion when track covers could save the meeting. Anybody got any spare tarpaulins!
  3. It was always going to be a gamble for lakeside, staging this meeting so close to the cut off date.
  4. Weather warnings out for the south east on Friday, early days though.
  5. [quote name="Mike.Butler" I was there - 48 heats. so was I mike!
  6. The attendances have been excellent. The cradley and eastbourne matches pulled in the biggest crowds of the seven meetings I have attended on the island this season.
  7. Couldn't stomach the launch pad today Paul, I went to eastie instead. The lack of urgency at rye has sapped my enthusiasm for the place to be honest.
  8. Totally agree. Despite being a bit negative regarding the islands return at the start of the season, I have been totally won over by the new promotion.
  9. The best rider in arena essex / lakeside's history. His track record at purfleet will surely never be beaten, if race times of recent seasons are anything to go by.
  10. Ritchings has withdrawn from the meeting on the island tonight due to a fall.
  11. i'm glad about that. It would have meant a clash with kent v birmingham for me.
  12. And what a couple of cracking meetings they will be!
  13. Last night rye and eastbourne attempted to run against an atrocious weather forecast. Both ended up with late call offs with people inside the stadium. Sometimes an early call off benefits everyone. I can't comment on todays track conditions at the showground, but with a dry day expected it's dissapointing that the meeting is off.
  14. Standard fare for a lot of EL matches. It was a poor meeting though, watched by a surprisingly decent sized crowd.
  15. Charlie monk, surely the hardest rider ever to get to sign an autograph. When I was a wee lad I cornered him in the Wimbledon pits, only for him to write the word MONK In big capital letters in my book!
  16. After the IOW thursday and lakeside last night, I need a breather shads.
  17. I dodged a bullet with this one tonight. The forecast was too poor to risk it.
  18. Charged his way to the front nige.
