Raiders V Buxton Mon 29th Aug -late Afternooncityrebel replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway Kent has good facilities and a positive feel about the place. Rye is in a state, and the ultra slick track has been a real downer for me this season. 30 heats on concrete, no thanks.

Raiders V Buxton Mon 29th Aug -late Afternooncityrebel replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway I can't face another 5 hour marathon at rye. It looks like kent v Eastbourne for me tomorrow.

Mildenhall V Rye Raiders Sun 28th Aug 3-30 Pmcityrebel replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway Stock cars and bangers ran at mildenhall last night. I Hope the track will be ok today.

Woods was pretty decent on the island a couple of weeks ago. He was on the pace and not rewarded with points for his efforts.

Isle Of Wight: V Birmingham Tues 23rd Augcityrebel replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway Barry bishop seems to be a really nice bloke, very approachable and always finds time for a chat. The last promotor I saw greet the fans as they arrived at the stadium was johnnie hoskins at Canterbury!

Thornton Road - Home Of The Gunnerscityrebel replied to Little Thumper's topic in National League Speedway I went there twice in the 1980's. It was a beast of a track, mastered by by the likes of jackson, finch and the Carr brothers.

Sorting out the 'stadium' and coming to the tapes in 2017 would be a bonus after yet another underwhelming season at the launch pad.

Leicester V Poole Elb. 20/08/16cityrebel replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League Despite a dodgy forecast I went to rye house and lakeside yesterday. Despite the showery conditions both meetings were run, but the crowds were not great at either venue.

i've not seen him this season.

You can pass on the island if you are prepared to take the high wide line. The home riders pulled off some great overtakes last night using that method. It's not for the faint hearted though!

There was some decent racing last night, despite the scoreline. The warriors have certainly hit the jackpot with their new reserve pairing.

I reckon the 'triple header' on the sunday, might run into the monday shads!

Rye v Sheffield now Tuesday 13th september.

As a central park regular, I'd say Kents crowds are exceptional for NL speedway. Despite the 6.30 start time and the dreaded curfew the fans keep on coming, me included!

Rye House Vs Glasgow Pl Saturday 13/08/2016cityrebel replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway The bald track at rye is not helping the home riders like lykke and robbo who are not the best gaters. Kennett was 'dead' tonight once young dan got the drop on him in heat 10. Come on BMR sort the track out, your riders deserve better.

10/8/71 west ham v wolves heat 1. Trapped on Olsen and led from start to finish. It brought the (custom) house down!. I remember it like it was yesterday, one of those moments that turn a wide eyed child into a lifelong speedway fan.

The laurels was my first ever meeting at Wimbledon in 1968 and my last ever meeting at plough lane in 2005!

I went to the meeting in 1985, it attracted a decent crowd considering the dons had dropped Down to the NL. I remember the programme was awful, a large brochure covering all of the sports plus a basic race card insert.
