Plymouth V Edinburgh (pl) 10/5/14 @ 7.15pm
Willowman replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nothing could be further from the truth. You have me totally wrong. Seems like I am not allowed to have any thoughts of my own now, am I? As has blighted successful teams in the past, it causes some considerable strain on the finances and if my memory serves me correctly Edinburgh were not backward in coming forward in that respect a few years back. We'll just have to wait and see what transpires in this respect at the end of the season but I'll remember your derogatory comment if/when it happens. Oh, and by the way, I wasn't the first one to think it, was I 'montie'? It is good to see former Rebels doing well with Justin and Sam returning in good form after their abscence from British speedway for a while. Rather than having a misguided dig, it might have been more constructive to actually answer my question regarding the future of Edinburgh and their stadium. After all you as a Monarch fan you should be in a better position to update us. As a speedway fan in general as well as a Rebels fan, I would welcome some positive news on the future of the Monarchs as I would of any team. The Rebels seems to be doing quite alright considering the major team overhaul. Perhaps if our two clubs continue their success through the Premier League campaign we can re-kindle the excitement of 2008 where you managed to pip us to the post. Apologies to Devils fans for highjacking the thread with non-Devils discussion but it was 'Fromafar' who caused it. -

Was thinking just the same thing this morning. On a related note, what is happening regarding a stadium for following seasons? -
Somerset V Workington Koc 9th April
Willowman replied to oldtimer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We'll see your 14 and raise you 16! Against a rated Workington team that was an awesome effort by the Rebels. Josh still knows the quickest way around the OTA but Olly showed him alternate lines on a couple of occassions. Perhaps we are going to have a better season than many predicted. Well done to all the Rebels and commiserations Worky. As we lost out on signing Josh, I'll settle for Pontus as a replacement in the making. Because the job was only partly done and perhaps we were disappointed with the result. After tonights result, perhaps we should too! -
Somerset Vs Ipswich Lc 2nd May
Willowman replied to Bash's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree with Naj, Heeps at least had a really good go in his final two rides and had 'heeps' of speed. It was clear though that he started to slow as the race went on most likely that damned wrist. But what happened to both Ritchies? Worrall was poor and let himself down falling while being shown the perimeter in 13 to claim Nick's exclusion but the ref saw through that one. Hawkins has well and truely forgotten his days at Somerset. All the Rebels deserve praise and their big pay packets but full respect to Paul Starke though who put his well deserved paid max on the line to ride in 15. This boy is going to be good. I'm much liking Pontus myself as he is a typical professional Swede, dare I say in the mould of Emil. Much sterner tests to come before getting too excited but the signs are promising. -
Well that is a bit of a coincidence, neither do I! A confidence builder for the Rebels. Hopefully we can carry that forward to the Redcar and Ipswich meetings. I commented to Najjer that Garrity is about the only rider I can think of that looks all over the place on the straights. I certainly wouldn't want to get anywhere near him. Frightening. Good to see Bowen coming back well. What on earth has happened to Bunyan?

Nowhere near as frightening as you treading on a Labrador.

Berwick Vs Workington Sat 19 April
Willowman replied to YAMYAMBANDIT's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Most likely vote with their feet. Probably a bit unfair as Worky will still do well as is. But I bet their expectations are much higher than "do well" especially with all the pre-season hype. -

What? And no mention of the Workington contributor either? Rebels & co had no answer to a Witches side on fire. Watch out Workington, they will be challenging for your title! -

You can't tell me that with your notoriety that someone will not get chatting to you! Take a tipple with you. You woman have everything in your handbags. PS Also forgot to say: "AND you will miss the Rebels if you stay at home. We can't be having that." -

Ah, but Busted never actually retired! -
Ah ha. It must be Spring as DB has come out of hibernation. Now where did you store those nuts (and don't say down in Somerset)?
-
Yes, but we want to take our finger off it now.
-
Well in all fairness, he didn't put in enough meetings for us for me to learn and remember the spelling of his surname!
-
Good to see Ty getting in some racing practise at Leicester, Kings Lynn, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Poole, Eastbourne, Wolverhampton and Sheffield before our first home meeting. Will miss practice at the OTA though!
-
Ah ha! Cheltenham has finished.
-
No, Boxhall.

So you like the sight of dirty diesel engines then? Everyone to their own I suppose!
