Peterborough Panthers 2017
bigcatdiary replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Presumably it isn't easy, probably why you haven't even got close for nearly two decades I rather think Laura needs it more. Ged made it plain no rider news until they know exactly what the format and team limit is for next season but he will be in a position to start revealing riders after the AGM finishes in early November. Sunday nights at 5.00pm seemed the popular choice for many but EL racing at the Showground isn't on the agenda as unfortunately the maths and supporters don't add up to cover the costs. -

Got to watch this leg for the first time this afternoon I thought it was an excellent match and great advert for the sport. -

He didn't get away with it, HOLUB was excluded -
I disagree, Its all about set ups and starting on the small ones

Riders don't speak out because if they do they are unlikely to ever get their money and if they withhold their services they get a ban to boot.

Not quite sure any normal speedway fan will be rubbing their hands as for the majority it's sad to see any club go under like this.

No Canterbury fan first,

That's a cracker bearing in mind who you work for.

And how many tracks would be asking for an assessment on a rider after the cut off date for transfer, let's be fair with full knowledge of who had just got hurt it wouldn't take a detective to work it out. And that statement Philip sums up the main complaint I have with the BSPA office and MC. If it's fair, honest and can be properly explained it would end most of the complaints on here before they were started. I am assured it's been suggested at BSPA meetings in the past. -

Belle Vue V Lakeside 2nd Leg September 26
bigcatdiary replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
When Sky opened on Poole they said the queues had been long since 5.00pm and the place was rammed, the accompanying pictures just seemed to confirm that, then they switched to Lakeside and made no comments about crowds at all and the camera pictures showed hardly anyone there. It was in total contrast to Poole but if your saying it was a good crowd you would surely know, clearly just well spread out. -

Because every decision is based on who is asking the question, their never has been any consistency or common sense applied to any decisions. They initially stopped Cook from riding for Peterborough because of "supposedly same race nights for his EL and PL teams" but of course Bewley riding for Belle Vue and Edinburgh was fine. -

We live in hope, perhaps then clubs might remember to get these matches arranged earlier. Still finished higher than Scunthorpe but let's be fair that's not hard is it. -

Not a great meeting, it's complete and utter pants, they only passes are after mistakes, Nilsson looked super quick when he starts and useless of a shocking gate four. -
To be fair Phil it's more likely to be whether we believe it or not.

We have one of the best supporters clubs in either league and have helped Ged Rathbone a lot this year, I don't think his main problem is financial. -
I rather suspect a lot of supporters would like to see the BSPA & MC decisions more transparent and might I add consistent but their complete indifference to inform their supporters has played a big part in how the sport is viewed today. Poole haven't cheated in this affair but not for the first appear to have been treated very favourably and in complete contrast to certain other clubs. Let's be fair the SCB as a body appear to have very little say in what happens with speedway in the UK.
