Not even close Nope! Sweet chilli chicken wrap and mushy peas... You're not very good at this are you Just home and still buzzing... Waited years for a win at Sheffield, witnessing some terrible humiliations along the way, then get two wins there in one season! Not the Sheffield side of old, but who cares? A win's a win. I'll take that all day, thanks very much Even on the last lap of heat 15 I was still inventing ways we could mess this up, remembering Scunthorpe last Friday, but this time Nelson held the line and his nerve to see off Adam Roynon. In any case Richard Lawson was nowhere near Anders Mellgren, so a 3-3 would've been enough. Sheffield did have some bad luck. Roynon falling when destined for the win in heat 4 and Andre Compton's bike giving up on him when on a 5-1 with Albin. Good to see Nelson banging in the points with a classy performance. Jason Bunyan put in a superb effort for his paid 10. I had him down for heat 15, but Anders put in a decent effort despite looking slower than expected for most of the meeting. Good points from both reserves with at least one win apiece, Kaspers coming with a neat inside pass on the 4th bend after Sarjeant drifted a little wide. Josh Grajzonek and Pontus Aspgren didn't have the best of meetings, but every point counts and theirs were vital. I'll let the Sheffield fans comment on their teams performance, but just to say happy to see Adam Roynon looking like the rider he was before his latest injury. I was tempted by the blackjack tables at Napoleans casino next door after the meeting, but as I was dressed in shorts and sandals and have a 5am alarm for work in the morning thought better of it.

http://www.ryehouser....php?extend.639 Marathon meeting.. Leave a note for the milkman... Bring your sleeping bags. Note the earlier start time Ran out of fish at the chip bar quarter of an hour before the start the other week, so get in early! Ice cream van behind the 4th bend would be nice If anyone has a spare ambulance knocking around that'd be handy Enjoy!

The Terminator Joins Scunthorpe
Shadders replied to T.N.T.'s topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Klindt did pretty well guesting for us at Plymouth a couple of weeks ago. Three heat wins, including a vital 5-1 with Anders Mellgren in heat 15. He's also guesting for the Rockets on Saturday in the Glasgow/Sheffield double header -

The Terminator Joins Scunthorpe

Wrong bloke. Not even the same nationality!! -
Looks good, unlike his points tally for Rye House... Nice moustache though... He should've stuck with his pop career

Most of my digs at Ronnie are tongue in cheek. Perhaps I'm looking through rose tinted spectacles, but I know for a fact he lost a packet promoting Rye House. Some of his signings were baffling, but don't forget he put his neck on the block to bring Jens Rasmussen to Rye House and one of the most exciting and dangerous riders I've ever seen in Martin Goodwin. He had some let downs too. Roger Johns came in from Wimbledon on a near 8 point average and then proceeded to stink the place out... Mel Taylor was one of the best riders in the National League when he came over from MIldenhall with Barry Klatt, but he failed to live up to expectations. Injuries didn't help either. I remember Trevor O'Brien, an earlier version of Tyson Nelson, who bust his thigh when he was looking very good.

A bit? I'm always back the next week though
-
This past week or so, I've been to see the Rockets at Plymouth, Redcar & Scunthorpe, spending hundreds of my hard earned, without a hint of trouble. I'm sure all the lovely people I meet at away tracks will testify to my character. If you saw one of your riders writhing in agony after a horrendous crash and saw someone attempting to take a photograph how would you react? . I'm a proper speedway fan, not a know it all, bitter has been old whinge bag.

Glad to see he's still going to Rye and isn't as bitter as some

Rye House V Edinburgh 13/7/13
Shadders replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A lovely elderly lady Monarchs fan was getting pretty irate, gesturing up at the box as Nelson was digging around. She later told us that Jim McGregor had come down to the start gate when Matty Whethers was doing the same and told him to stop. I don't know if it was this year or in the past as her accent was giving me problems. -
Not close at all if you saw the latest X-ray. Story is he took the plaster cast off himself, which hasn't helped... Luke will probably continue his rehab, ready for next year

He didn't stop Tyson Nelson from preparing the gate for Anders Mellgren before heat 15. The Monarchs around us were going nuts! Is that why Cookie arrived late? -

A puncture on the last bend when leading is bad luck. Trying to anticipate the start and going through the tapes is poor judgement. There is a difference... If he pulls that stunt tonight he'll be villain of the year. -
Wouldn't mind seeing him back if averages and wage demands allow
-
Saw him at Rye House tonight. He looks a little more doddery than he did when he used to don the mascot suit. I seem to remember him telling me a few years back that he was told he was not to perform the mascot duties anymore. I don't think he was even the official mascot. He did it off his own back I seem to recall.

To say I'm gutted is an understatement. Rockets deserved to win that, no doubt. The ridiculous tactical rule which allows a home team who've been dominated to get back into the meeting done us up like a kipper. A rule that's gotta be looked at during the winter Saying that, it was a fabulous speedway meeting with close racing and passing a plenty. Much better from Kasper tonight. Mellgren was superb until heat 15 and Nelson was scraping the boards providing lots of thrills. Pontus was more subdued than last night. His first race fall didn't help his score. Couple of good rides for Jason B too. Josh didn't look as dominant as last night. Poor Simon was in the wars with a couple of falls, neither were his fault. The worst news of the night was Nikolai Klindt announced as a Scunthorpe rider in place of Palm Toft, so a pretty crap night all round for us.
