Sad news .

Biblical rain that stopped the meeting when the scores were very close , no problem with the call off the track was in an awful mess. Then when a track inspection was being carried out and some remedial work was going on another down pour started which finally ended proceedings The people and staff at Mildenhall were very friendly and kind , it would have been good if the meeting had come to a conclusion with all 15 heats completed even though the Comets team were very much a patched up side then Luke Crang had to pull out with injury. It had been over 40 years since I had last been to West Row so cannot really remember what the stadium looked like but the high metal fence around the dog track does not help viewing , good luck to the team next year hopefully they can keep running in whatever the League set up is. Its a long drive home to Cumbria.

Looked at a hotel this morning for two nights next year then looked a few minutes ago price had went up by about £300, there is though a four bed apartment for £16k.

Also no Berwick bullets next year and doubts about Sittingbourne running.

After last year better to test now than find out later it is not up to standard, not sure if it is usual to ha e a test event a few days prior to the meeting?

All up in the air for next year........so many non runners and possible closures ....

It’s getting to the stage where it’s whoever turns up at the stadium can have a ride and many got there knickers in a twist about Robert Lambert last year.

Agreed , any planning must include all clubs big and small and talk about costs and logistics when forming League set ups and rider involvement .

May be the reason is bereavement .

Magic roundabout I can’t keep up Zmarslik to Belle vue , Bewley to Leicester.

I like a win as much as the next person but I think we need to keep supporting all the lads , yes some of them are going through a bad patch and not riding regularly , this is after all the National League. I,m sure I’ll get some negative comments for my views but hey it’s all about opinions. Great to see such a big crowd from all over the country and Scotland . Hope the Belle vue fan that fell ill is ok.

Met office forecast is a dry day with a few showers around 4/5 pm.

In my opinion would need a radical change in League formats with costs being reduced for the “2nd division” and a League consisting of say Berwick , Scunthorpe, Workington Edinburgh (if still running) etc.

Workington are up against the Belle Vue Colts in this much anticipated League meeting after a few weeks break the Comets fans will be eager to see some racing. I remember the last time the clubs met in the early 2000s , a two legged affair if I remember rightly.

Never even entered my head top League, costs would have to come down even to enter Championship, with the way clubs are now in the NDL things do not look good.

Might only be two leagues instead of three ...where that would leave Worky?

Some great racing last night, I signed the petition today. Yes all quiet on the TV broadcasts about Wolverhampton and Peterborough situation and unless Oxford and another team move up it leaves the Premiership in a sticky situation. There is a thought that Glasgow might move up and whilst I can see the attraction of big names riding there it also brings its problems too. Maybe there will be a major shake up of the Leagues next year but this might make the “big” names think twice about racing in the UK in the future.

Yes just looked on booking.com and there is still plenty of availability on the weekend of the GP at prices lower than last year which is unheard of. Many put off by last years poor track, soaring prices and the cost of living. One can only squeeze a lemon so far until it runs out of juice . I may go back next year usually give it a year or two between visits , off to Toruń in September.

British riders coming over here taking our jobs....er

Thought about travelling up for this meet but will probably wait til the Oxford match in September .
