King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
IainB replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I agree about the rest of it was interesting and I remember listening to Mudguard talking about the atmosphere in the Millennium Stadium when he rode there but come on the cold conditions don't just effect Nicolai and he should have it sussed out now after 20 years in the game -
King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

I've just listened to Nicolai Klindt on the British Speedway podcast and I must say I've never heard such a load of crap he was spouting about being dropped from Oxford because it was too cold! He was basically saying that he couldn't get going this season because the temperatures have effected his machinery and that now that it's warming up watch him go! Now Nicolai is a rider with some 20 years of senior Speedway experience initially in "tropical" Denmark and to use this as an excuse is scraping the barrel, yes weather and temps do effect machine performance but to use this as an excuse says more about him than the weather... what does this say to anybody that is thinking of signing him for their team next year? Don't bother until May? He also said that Steve Worrall says he suffers from the same... erm, condition? If I was Worrall I'd be distancing myself from those comments -
Bomber & Nicholls! Now they've learnt not to knock each other off is there another pair that consistently race against each other better?
-
He'll be due a testimonial soon!
-
Jesus Christ! Jack Smith has been on his arse 3 times in the first 2 heats!
-
That would be the usual, predictable, par for the course thing to do... So, I'd say yes.
-
It's all a bit safe though isn't it, it's always been done that way so that's the way we're going to do it. I think keeping the opposition guessing as regards their line-up is like Speedway's version of Bazball... Stewball if you like No disrespect to Ritchie as he does a fine job for Ippo, but it's hard to imagine him managing elsewhere for another team, I wouldn't have thought he'd be on anybody's "wanted" list unlike Stewart Dickson or Rob Lyon for example.

Number 1 to Number 6... in a month! That's quite a fall!
-
Assuming they're going to work with what they've got, I'd probably go: 1 Pawlicki 2 Lampart 3 Milik 4 Brennan 5 Worrall 6 Cook 7 Flint
-
Good point... there are only so many points to be scored in every meeting. But it's how and when you get those points, having your other big hitter at 5 means they're riding with a reserve and are only likely to get a 3-3. R/R at 5 may well do a similar job... it's all a matter of opinion of course.
-
Great to see Tom Brennan step up to the plate (twice) in that last race, I think most (me) probably had him down as coming in at the back in 15
-
Hopefully with the new averages out tomorrow it'll give you guys a bit more scope to rearrange the team riding order as Milik has been hopelessly out of his depth riding at Number 1. Whether the management will have the nous to get the riding order more balanced is another question though.
-
Absolutely! There's nothing more frustrating than seeing a rider not ride to his full potential, there are few better consistent starters in the game
-
He did qualify for the GP series by right though which seems to poo poo that theory, so the self belief should be there. What I find more interesting is the fact that he's been moved on from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belle Vue after quite long stints at those clubs, so there must be something that made those clubs not fancy him, especially at CL level where normally clubs Number 1's tend to stay with clubs for a long long time, unless it's Chris Harris who seems to like to get himself fixed up as early as possible with the first club to make him an offer
-
You'd think that "Smiler" Hawkins might try a "Dickson" Emil/Doyley partnership at 1 and 2 to potentially get 4 5-1's, potentially worth 16 race points
-
For me he's a bit of a mercurial enigma, on his day he's as good as anybody and he can do that consistently until something gets in his head (and I am not talking about his mental health here, before everybody jumps on me, I am talking about his mind management as a professional athlete), history has shown that with various incidents he's been involved in. He's established himself at several clubs over the years and for one reason or another has moved on and it's been quite a surprise to see that. He is a quality Speedway rider, you don't get to qualify for the GP's without being so, there is absolutely no denying that and he should dominate the CL in its weakened form, PL in it's "strengthened" guise this season? He has the gating ability to be a lot better in the PL than he has recently been, his current form in the CL says it should be a no brainer for a team to include him in their side in the PL especially on a short term basis.
-
He rode that turn 1 as if he was at the NSS He does seem to make some poor decisions on track at times, hopefully that'll come with experience I'll certainly be making a few trips over later in the year now my local Monday (Peterborough) night track had closed

What a great Speedway meeting! If you didn't like that I really don't know why you watch Speedway at all, it had everything, great racing, close scoreline, last heat decider, drama in the last race and a victory for the underdog. You can compare it to Poland until the cows come home but you're comparing Premier League football to the Championship. That was a great advert for the sport in this country

They seem to have dropped the advert break features that they used to do in previous seasons, so much for the more in depth coverage that they promised on Discovery+

I'm glad you felt the need to contribute to the Workington vs Scunthorpe topic to talk about me... You should set a fan club up with @IronScorpion They walk among us -

Why bring me into this? It's a topic about Workington and Scunthorpe? You seem obsessed with me, do I need to take out a restraining order? -
Personally, I don't think Zagar is the answer for Brum, Milik needs replacing for me, he's not even one for the future. Tolley needs to approach one of the other half a dozen riders that were "on offer" "Laurence (Rogers - Director of Speedway) and Chris (Adams - Assistant Team Manager), as well as myself, are extremely busy in the background to make sure we pick the best two from around half a dozen riders we have on offer.” - Nigel Tolley

In fact... a team of pony (and trap)
