Scunthorpe vs Berwick - Championship - 7/6/24

Yes, it's metal armco in front of a solid soil(?) bank. I assume there's a valid reason why it's not air fence on all bends? -

I've spent more dead time "watching" speedway at or from Scunthorpe than any other track in the land. You shouldn't be coming away with broken bones and concussion from foam fences -

If they had a proper "safety" fence they might be able to get away with only having 1 ambulance more often -

Scunthorpe proving to be the most dangerous track in the country... again! Wishing Schlein a speedy recovery -

What's happened to Lawson? -
He was clearly on the phone just prior to the parade
-
He's injured? What does he expect Lynn to do? Run with 6 riders? Or maybe he should have got down to the track to help his team mates out, he would have found out in person then!
-
Flint should be the leading light in the rising star position and to be fair if there was no RS system he'd probably still be worth a team spot on potential alone. I've made my feelings known on the RS system elsewhere but it'd be interesting to know what the overall combined average is of the RS season on season... one for the anoraks. You'd hope it'd be about the same or marginally increase year on year, I do feel many of them are well out of their depth this season though.

Not only that but a 2 times Euro under 19 champion and World under 21 runner-up, probably the hottest prospect in world Speedway -
You reached the cup semi finals! I'd count that as a good season

Yep, me too

The same person that gave you access to a keyboard?

I may be slightly biased as a Lion but I'd love to see Richard Lawson get the GP wild card this weekend... he's held our team together this year.
-
Some that got a wild card can count themselves lucky
-
But they did...

What are Steve Brandon's Speedway credentials? I know he used to be the floor manager for the TV companies., but he seems to be well in with a lot of the competitors, more than just a TV floor manager would be.
-
He'd be better off bringing Topinka over with him for a few meetings to get him settled in.
-
Incorrect, he qualified as of right because Lambert and Vaculik finished in top 6 of SGP
-
Kvech, a great signing imo, even better if he brings Topinka over with him. He'll be great at home imo... he's no mug, you don't qualify for the GP series if you're a mug

Covatti crashed in Argentina in Feb, came back for Plymouth at Poole on the 24th of May, rode in Slovenia, scoring 8 points, then missed the next Plymouth match "still struggling with a leg injury after attempting to return to track action"... sounds pretty much the same to me. If Plymouth have failed to get a medical certificate, that's fair enough I suppose. Kurtz had 2 certificates then? 1 for Oxford and then another one after he'd ridden in the qualifier? The SCB statement makes no mention of medical certificates.
-
You must be privy to more information than me then... all I've seen in the news is that he missed the away match at Oxford on the 23rd of May with "an ankle injury" (don't know where he picked that up from?), rode in the GP qualifier on the 25th at Zarnovica where he qualified, finishing all of his races then was absent for Belle Vue again. If he had a medical certificate for the Oxford match surely this would have expired with his appearance in the GP qualifier... or is it a blank certificate that he can use whenever he likes?

A statement and 28 day ban ain't going to hurt then... no consistency as usual.
