  1. Probably waiting to see if everybody has to be "upgraded" to sit in the middle tier.
  2. But GB are seeded through to the final of SoN1 against 6 other teams qualifying from 2 semis also consisting of 7 teams??
  3. Is there any particular reason why SoN2 has 8 teams competing while SoN has 7?
  4. Something to do with his estranged wife and got the children working for one of the sponsors I think
  5. That's not something common to Speedway, there's only really PL Football that can fill a stadium. We're often told that events are "sold out" only to see many empty seats when it's on TV, F1 being a prime example. We were told by the commentators that the Snooker World Champs was sold out, again many empty seats, even for the final! Look at Wimbledon this year, many empty seats. Maybe Speedway could do with a "Royal Box" as for some reason the organisers of these events seem to think that there's a benefit to having a load of free-loading celebs in attendance or perhaps just lower the ticket prices. My 4 day ticket works out at £30.75 per meeting, which I'm happy to pay but it's not family friendly... for a "family" sport.
  6. I think this rain may just finish the track off for tonight
  7. Credit to the track staff and whoever it was that forced the riders out!
  8. I get what you say about rain and visibility but I also think it shows that when there's a will to get these meetings on there is a way.
  9. Somebody within British Speedway needs to be asking themselves what enables riders to race (really well) in these conditions that doesn't allow them to even start at King's Lynn, and abandon meetings like BV vs Sheffield and Birmingham vs Oxford, Oxford vs Ippo etc etc
  10. A couple of good moves in the opening races tbf, which is more than can be said about last night
  11. It looks about the same as the Sheffield meeting track to me, after they'd done all the work. See if Jack Holder wants it tonight.
  12. It's whether the weather will hold off long enough tonight, they may start. Let's hope the medic that called off the Sheffield meeting ain't here! Watching tractors go around the track is marginally more entertaining than watching England play Football at least
  13. Only 15 minutes required to get it raceable, IF it stops raining, according to Morris... I'll have some of what he's had! Monster, Monster!
  14. This will be off Fancy holding it in July in Manchester!
  15. About 20,000 last year and this year is the last year of a 3 year deal signed by WBD predecessors IMG. I think SoN is a trial run for a SGP
  16. Assuming we're not going back to Cardiff... where else in the UK could a GP be held? And who would stage it? Mr Tolley at the Alexander Stadium? Mr Tolley, I have some magic beans to sell you!
  17. Don't forget the rusky riders gave the meeting a miss when they could ride for Russia, something to do with money, so there's no way they are going to do it now
  18. This is part of the narrative being pushed by the club but the team was complete on Jan the 22nd and the announcement that they were "competing" in the PL was made on the 17th of November.
  19. Awarded? What happened to having to complete 4 laps?
