  1. He did qualify for the GP series by right though which seems to poo poo that theory, so the self belief should be there. What I find more interesting is the fact that he's been moved on from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belle Vue after quite long stints at those clubs, so there must be something that made those clubs not fancy him, especially at CL level where normally clubs Number 1's tend to stay with clubs for a long long time, unless it's Chris Harris who seems to like to get himself fixed up as early as possible with the first club to make him an offer
  2. You'd think that "Smiler" Hawkins might try a "Dickson" Emil/Doyley partnership at 1 and 2 to potentially get 4 5-1's, potentially worth 16 race points
  3. For me he's a bit of a mercurial enigma, on his day he's as good as anybody and he can do that consistently until something gets in his head (and I am not talking about his mental health here, before everybody jumps on me, I am talking about his mind management as a professional athlete), history has shown that with various incidents he's been involved in. He's established himself at several clubs over the years and for one reason or another has moved on and it's been quite a surprise to see that. He is a quality Speedway rider, you don't get to qualify for the GP's without being so, there is absolutely no denying that and he should dominate the CL in its weakened form, PL in it's "strengthened" guise this season? He has the gating ability to be a lot better in the PL than he has recently been, his current form in the CL says it should be a no brainer for a team to include him in their side in the PL especially on a short term basis.
  4. He rode that turn 1 as if he was at the NSS He does seem to make some poor decisions on track at times, hopefully that'll come with experience I'll certainly be making a few trips over later in the year now my local Monday (Peterborough) night track had closed
  5. What a great Speedway meeting! If you didn't like that I really don't know why you watch Speedway at all, it had everything, great racing, close scoreline, last heat decider, drama in the last race and a victory for the underdog. You can compare it to Poland until the cows come home but you're comparing Premier League football to the Championship. That was a great advert for the sport in this country
  6. They seem to have dropped the advert break features that they used to do in previous seasons, so much for the more in depth coverage that they promised on Discovery+
  7. It seems like you're having difficulty typing wearing that straight jacket of yours
  8. I'm glad you felt the need to contribute to the Workington vs Scunthorpe topic to talk about me... You should set a fan club up with @IronScorpion They walk among us
  9. Why bring me into this? It's a topic about Workington and Scunthorpe? You seem obsessed with me, do I need to take out a restraining order?
  10. Personally, I don't think Zagar is the answer for Brum, Milik needs replacing for me, he's not even one for the future. Tolley needs to approach one of the other half a dozen riders that were "on offer" "Laurence (Rogers - Director of Speedway) and Chris (Adams - Assistant Team Manager), as well as myself, are extremely busy in the background to make sure we pick the best two from around half a dozen riders we have on offer.” - Nigel Tolley
  11. He used to be "friendly" with Katie Price ... are you re-reading the forum from day 1?
  12. I tell you what, er, erm, er... they kept saying lots of things... Freddie Lindgren had long Covid... who knew?!?
  13. Personally I thought it was a pretty decent GP, above average in fact compared to recent years. It may not be racing for the purist, but the way the bikes and tracks are riders seem to have to be pretty extreme to make any moves and use the ruts, it certainly makes for entertainment and the FIM don't seem to be in any hurry to tone the bikes down. Heat 15 was purist stuff and a great race! None of the noobs disgraced themselves and probably did at least as good as some of the journeyman that have been cast aside this year with maybe Huckenbeck being the stand out. Maybe the reason a lot of the field don't resonate with some is because we just don't get to see most of them regularly in this country anymore? As for Woffy, for me he's at the stage of his career where he's quite comparable to Doyley and the contrast between the 2 is blindingly obvious to see, just the body language on the bike, Doyley looks as though he'd do almost anything to get back to the top, his semi final 2nd place was all you needed to see, brilliant stuff, Woffy... I can see him retiring from Speedway at the end of the year. Well done to Jack Holder, very impressive, I like his style, just the right amount of arrogance without going over the top with it and he's able to back it up unlike Woffy these days.
  14. Are the quali sessions refereed? You could have the situation of riders baulking each other during the practice/quali season to make their opponents' time slower and therefore not qualify for the "sprint" race
  15. That was shaping up to be quite a close contest but Berwick kept pressing the self destruct button with countless engine failures, falls and exclusions. I quite like the look of the Edinburgh team as dark horses, best racing I've seen from Armadale in the last few years Ride of the night from Schlein in 15!
  16. How many points are Berwick going to continue to throw away?
  17. More passing in the first 2 heats than I've seen in the last 2 years at Edinburgh!
  18. I always used to pronounce this Land-shut, but listening to Celina Liebmann recently she pronounced it Lands-hut. Now every time I hear it pronounced Land-shut it's really annoying me... I was better off in ignorance.
  19. All those riders touching the tapes and being warned for moving... or not.
  20. Dickson did the right thing tonight in replacing Douglas with Kemp when he touched the tapes and remarked on it in his after meeting interview. It was obvious that passing was going to be at a premium tonight, especially in the early heats, so even after Milik's impressive victory in heat 1 it was looking extremely unlikely he was going to come through from the back in heat 5 against Masters and Lawson, so to make that decision was very strange especially as Dickson had basically shown Birmingham what to do in the previous heat. With the Brummies struggling for points on the track the last thing they need is for the management to be making basic errors like this.
  21. Twice, and Becker also. There are very limited options with regards to JT, so it's going to be down to the management, club and his team mates to help him get going I think.
  22. Weakest in the league but with possibly the strongest reserve partnership... although they didn't really show it tonight
  23. If it's any consolation, I think you've got the best looking race suits in the league so at least you looked good while you were taking a sound beating
