I know that this reply wasn't for me but you ask some valid questions, so I'll chip in my two penneth anyway 😂 2) The PCMT gets a big crowd at the beginning of the season, partly due to the line up but also partly because the Speedway public has been starved of Speedway for the previous 5 months and the appetite is high, whether it would attract such a large crowd on a Monday night in the summer is questionable. 3) If a family has an "entertainment" budget to use for a weekly outing do you choose a Monday night when the kids have school the next day or save it for a weekend activity when they don't? If it's the latter, that budget has gone and Speedway has lost out. There is no competition there and the weekend attraction generally wins. 4) The lack of promotion and relegation in British Speedway means many more meaningless matches, you're always going to get them, but they need to be minimised. Imagine this dreadful season with promotion and relegation the top 4 jostling for pay off spots and the bottom 3 against relegation. Now the 2 leagues run under one banner there should be no excuse for not having promotion and relegation. 6) The 15 minute argument is valid(ish), comparing it to Football, the "stars" are in full view of the public for 90 minutes, so it doesn't really matter if they're stood there picking their nose, that's what you've paid to go and watch. Speedway you'll see them for 15 minutes of racing, maybe a minute before a race gardening (picking their nose) and if you're really really lucky one of them may come round and acknowledge the crowd after winning a race. At Leicester they're marched out after the match for a quick interview in front of the crowd on the main straight, it's been a bit hit and miss this season but is well worth hanging around for after the match and I don't know why all clubs don't do this as part of the match day experience. As the riders spend the majority of their time during a meeting in the pits I've always advocated that the pits should be on the infield in full view of the paying public.

I can't see there being a TV contract with 6 teams and especially not 5 and it's questionable if there will be one with 7 as the TV companies haven't been queuing up to cover Speedway over the last few years.

Neither of my 2 emails asking the SCB to tell me which specific rule was broken that resulted in Workington being docked 2 league points were replied to and yes I did send them to the right email address.

Fines go to the SRBF don't they... so if Wright and Allen put a claim in for severe handbag whiplash injuries... all good 😁

Actually 2 different organisations, it was the BSPL that put it on their socials not the SCB, but... as proven, especially over the last couple of years, the SCB does exactly what the BSPL wants, so yes I'm inclined to agree. The integrity of our sport is so corrupt at times!

SCB STATEMENT: REDCAR v SCUNTHORPE (22 AUGUST) Tuesday August 26, 2025 The Speedway Control Bureau have viewed the footage of the incident between Jake Allen and Charles Wright after the conclusion of Heat 6 at the Redcar v Scunthorpe Championship fixture on Friday 22nd August 2025. It has been concluded that both Mr Allen and Mr Wright Breached Speedway Regulation 017.2 g) which reads - g) Breach of the Rules, any act which is violent, threatening or abusive nature to an Official, Rider or any other person. Due to this Breach, both Mr Allen and Mr Wright have been issued with a Cash Penalty and also a Warning of their future behaviour as per SCB Regulation 017.3 Both Mr Allen and Mr Wright have a Right to Appeal this Penalty as per Chapter 18 in the 2025 SCB Regulations.

Annoys the hell out of me this does! And we get to see quite a lot of this with Drew Kemp at Leicester, even if you're not going full bore at the back you should at least be on the pace(ish) at the back, who knows what's going to happen to the riders in front during the rest of the race... it shows a really poor mental attitude.

Personally I don't have a problem with it, as long as there is a club at a decent level and it's competitive, that'll do me. We had a pretty successful time in the CL under Mr Dickson and none of the fans were asking to move up to PL on a Thursday/Monday night as shown with the drop in crowds.

It's not an us and them situation like it used to be with the BL & NL now though, it's one association

A pleasure as in free points every year? They should never have been allowed into the PL, special dispensation to ride Monday in CL was the common sense solution for Brum

What a night for Premiership Speedway! This must be the least competitive league I can ever remember in the UK! Embarrassing for a sport with a points limit in place to encourage equality

It's not that different... were you following Speedway when you got double points for your tactical? Now that was crazy! Tac subs have long been a part of Speedway, In fact there hadn't used to be a limit on them when I first started following Speedway (aside from 1 each per rider) and it made the sport a hell of a lot more interesting imo. As a fan you really used to be able to play team manager unlike these days where it's barely worth a TM even being in attendance.

As a neutral there today, I must say I thought it was a bang average meeting and pretty poor for the NSS with most of the action done by B3 of L1... which we all know doesn't count as action.

They may even show updated league tables after the meeting which BSN seem unable to do consistently! Who's doing the interviews in the pits? It looked like Havvy but sounded like Stoney 😂
