  1. Great news for WA Speedway. I wonder if Freddie & Ludvig will be sticking around for Mildura Jan 5th?
  2. Even tho' this one's been put to bed for next year Downunder fans should not give up hope: according to the latest Speedway Racing News IMG have not given up on a GP in Oz (and NZ). They've always been keen to expand SGP worldwide - "To move forward you've got to look at new venues, whether they're in Europe, Australasia, the Pacific Rim, the Middle East or North America" - to the extent that they've inspected several venues and one venue in particular in Sydney is in the 'very likely' basket for the future. Of course its pure speculation on my behalf but you'd have to think that that might possibly be Parramatta, or Tyrepower Speedway Sydney as its latest name change announces. The fact that David Tapp is GM there is enough for those in the IMG corridors of power to continue to flag interest.
  3. Its been one of his ambitions to run in OzChamps but trying to put together a sponsorship deal isn't easy from Perth unless he can get someone like Trevor Harding Snr interested (with his mobile workshop) as he'd have to cover himself & mechanic & two bikes for three weeks on the road all over S.E. Oz. Still living in hope that he'll make it to Leigh's Cheerio in Mildura. First practise of the season was rained off in Mildura yesterday but looking good for Saturday, with the long-awaited return of a fully-fit Ryan Sedgmen. Don't know if Tom Hedley's thinking of a comeback - parenting duties might take preference these days!
  4. Don't forget - the more exposure at the highest level = more lucrative and better sponsorship as well'd have to put $Big Buck$ into your bank account.
  5. I'll be at Gorzow for SWC and a Lech transplant, Brian, and I'd recommend this mob any day of the week for Alcohol Appreciation Tours interrupted by the odd bit of Speedway.
  6. Will you have Nick back for the finals, Jayne? Good to see Robert came through OK on Sunday - he's Tough!
  7. I must admit the name caught my eye when checking the results: I see he took out this year's Polish Junior Greater Poland Championships, and he's not yet 16. Is he affiliated with any club yet?

  9. Yep, you said 'all meeting', and I took that to mean 'all meeting'. You also said the track was crap, and while it certainly favoured the yellow gate it was also responsible for some great racing, including Gollob's magnificent win off Red in heat 2; a feat that would have been impossible on a truly crap track, for example like Brandon for the first leg of the EL playoff final. My apologies for not being able to understand your language; remember I'm only a poor bloody Colonial after all - sometimes you have to punch the information in twice.
  10. 1st Adrian Miedzinski 2nd Leigh Adams 3rd Greg Hancock 4th Jason Crump A ripper meeting by all accounts.
  11. Now all we need is for the Mighty BLUE OVAL to get up at Bathurst - Go Frosty, Go FORD!!
  12. Works for me too. Hans has been inconsistent, Zorro has had his fairy-tale year and Tai just hasn't come up to scratch. I'd prefer the 24-man knock-out format, however there's little chance of a return to that.
  13. Who was that winning heat 2 then? Somebody should have told you to go to specsavers. It leaves Chris in the top 8 in the world with one GP to his name after his first season in the Elite Competition. Where does that leave you, dornier? Well done to you Full-throttle for admitting that you got it wrong. There should be a fair few more like posts on here from humble-pie eaters. Great year from Bomber. Epecially if you were in the Yellow Helmet!
  14. That's right, blame an inanimate objexct! Its obvious your 'puter has been hacked by BWitchettygrub! Maggies did the Buffs by 20 points last night. Wanderers put 60 points on Southern Districts, Saints did Bombers by 4 goals and the Mighty WARATAHS put 8 goals on the Tigers.
  15. Hurt his shoulder at Scunthorpe and had to withdraw from the meeting.
  16. No Cookie, no Nick, Robert riding hurt - Heathens could be in with a shout here.
  17. My mates tell me Holta's Ok but Tomasz is a bit of a mystery at the mo. Here's hoping he's OK to ride.
  18. Both Mason & Bryce rode for NSW in the State of Origin series, dirt. Both boys are about 17 and I think someone was telling me at Newcastle at Easter that Mason had had some interest from GB. He rode in the support races there for Ozchamps, against Kozza & Michael Penfold (who had a trial at Glasgow), and was runner-up in the Winter series at Gosford. Can't recall seeing Bryce yet but then I can't recall lots of things!
  19. Couldn't agree more. A safe return for our injured riders from both sides, please.
  20. Gets pretty hairy down here sometimes, Em, I put it down to the Tory education system.
  21. Close enough, Billy! (Oh, and there's an 'e' in courageous'!) Well Done the Mighty HORNETS!
