  1. So Lennie's managing Newport as well? No wonder he never has time to water the track.
  2. So you've contacted the BSPA on this issue, is that right? Your 'evidence' is easily available, I presume? Has anybody contacted the BSPA on this, or is it easier to keep posting rumour and innuendo and grinding your axes? I'm sure the Newport management, with their years of experience with Aussie riders, would be on top of this so why not ask them directly, rather than posting on here? When I spoke to Mark at Mildura in January he was all set up for this season beginning with Ashley's meeting then on to the Hornets, and given the dramas some of our boys have had with paperwork in the past both Mark and his Dad would have been right on top of this.
  3. Goodonya, Hunn! That should ensure a couple of pages worth of posts whingeing about SKY. Personally I think all the GPs should be run at 11:00 am GMT so's I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to watch it! Go OZ!
  4. Another good return from young Robert - you're gonna miss the Branford Clan, Jayne!
  5. But its much easier to post rumours than to check facts. Have you even tried? You'll never never know if you don't give it a go.
  6. Great sentiments, falcace, but a quick check of our domestic calendar and an understanding of the way things operate Downunder might have answered some of your questions. Marcus is running a Test Series in November/December under the auspices of the Darren and Sharon Boocock Scholarship - check out the thread in Speedway General Discussions. January is choc-a-block with Championship meetings and of course Leigh Adams' Cheerio. I'm sure Ivan will be up to something as well. Come February most riders are getting ready to head back to Europe. The GPs are proposed for March, to take advantage of our wonderful climate. One thing you may have missed is that without Federal or State Government assistance of some sort neither an NZ or an OZ GP will go ahead. Nobody wants a repeat of the financial bath that Dave Lander took last time.
  7. Reading the Horrible Heathens v Mighty HORNETS thread it looks like Tim is about to be welcomed back to the nest - great news for Club and Rider.
  8. Great news for Tim and the Mighty HORNETS! PS Good points raised by LFC1892 regarding the Monmore Green trick track.
  9. Can you detect a pattern developing here? Certainly explains why some Wolves fans are paranoid.
  10. Any particuar weekend you had in mind, Alan? Promises, promises.
  11. A great GP, with all the excitement, surprises and drama we've come to expect this season. The track for me was a bit 'curate's egg-ish' - good in parts - with a few ruts especially on turn 4, but produced some great racing. Well Done Herbie and also Bomber & Crumpy for entertaining us. I couldn't understand why AJ was excluded and Tomasz wasn't, but then I'm not a referee. What a great GP Season so far. Crumpy could still pull this off after setbacks to the Polish contingent.
  12. Passing in every heat so far - still bored, Wanna?
  13. 0255AM NT Time the alarm went off, I checked me phone and there was a message saying 'Go back to sleep, Fatso!' Any links for this one? Don't think AUSTAR will be able to re-organise showing the re-run, somehow.
  14. Light Rain forecast for this evening; hopefully not enough to put s dampener on things. Knowing SKY's commitment to getting the show on the road I'd reckon the riders will be issued waterwings.
  15. KB'll be a tad outnumbered in heat 4, Aussies everywhere, man! I've heard it's pretty much British Summer Weather over there, i.e. persisting down. Any extended forecast apart from Dark & Stormy (that's a Bundy & ginger beer for all youse foreigners!)?
  16. Did anyone make it to practise today? How big is this track, does anyone know?
  17. No, mate, I'm only on here because an Aussie rider I enjoy watching, who has been through a lot in the past few years what with serious injury and family bereavement is the subject of the thread. As for Sam I enjoyed watching him last year when I was over: he struck me as someone who was always ready to give it a go and I was disappointed for him when he didn't get a guernsey this year, although I thought he might have picked up a berth in another team but alas that wasn't to be. Any plans for Sam in the future or has he given the sport away?
  18. Seems that anyone who disagrees with you doesn't know what they're talking about, Vince. Only one side to your argument as well, mate.
  19. Mark only returned to Speedway this last Downunder season after a few years out following a serious injury to his leg. Its amazing he can walk properly again, let alone ride.
  20. The joys of the BSF, where you can push your own barrow without ever being called to account for it; make allegations without any proof and smear young blokes who haven't done anything wrong; where rather than taking the opportunity to ask the person yourself you stick it on here and encourage the conspiracy theorists to crawl out of the woodwork. Great that Mark's leg held up to the rigours of the season, the last thing he would have wanted was this storm in a teacup; hopefully the Mighty HORNETS can pick up a replacement without upsetting everyone - as you say, Wanna, the Newport Promotion should act publicly, and as soon as possible.
  21. Don't you want to see the best riders in the GPs?
  22. Judging from Kelvin's performance on SKY last monday ("Did you know there's 38 Aussies, that's right, 38, riding in GB?" "38!") I've got a pretty good idea where the blame will fall. No Havelock? No Stonehewer?
