  1. Best of luck for the meeting: hope its a good turn-out. Say G'day to Johnno's Dad for me.
  2. Sorry Bongo, the link didn't work, so I've invested in a bottle of Rare Breed instead.
  3. Don't worry until the Bar closes - then its time to panic!!!!!!!! PS Did anyone spot the difference in Bongo's triple posting? They all look identical to me, but I've been assured if you spot ten subtle alterations and send them together with your banking details to am email address in Nigeria you'll win $50,000,000:00
  4. That's fair dinkum, Edwardian; when Briggo first burst onto the scene in the 60's he copped an incredible amount of stick - if the Internet Forums were around then you'd have thought he was Darcy Ward!
  5. Curtain down this weekend on an amazing series - possibly one of the best racing-wise we've ever seen. Hopefully no injuries mar this event, and Huey doesn't rain on Tomasz' parade. Will Bomber secure his top eight spot and out an end to all his naysayers? Sadly even if he wins he'll still get slagged off on here. Best of Luck to Jason - a worthy defending champion - ten years on the podium is gonna be hard to catch. Best wishes to Chris Holder - time for a well-deserved rest, mate! Hopefully Tai gets a result too; the vertical learning curve's been a bit too much this year but I'm sure he can bounce back. Roll on some ungodly hour of Sunday Morning! (Darwin Time of course!)
  6. Adam, none of us are slagging off British Riders here mate, its the powers-that-be that need to get behind people like you; the Promoters, the Sponsors and the Hierarchy need to do more to assist those that deserve a chance. Can't see how having less than 5% Aussies in the NL is holding Brits back: there's a darn sight more 30+ Riders doing that. As for the PL and the EL - surely the public are entitled to get what they pay for, not understrength teams or an outmoded quota system.
  7. Come on, Lance, you know how easy it is for these little Englanders to slag off the number of Aussies in the NL, (how many was it? Four!) who are the sole cause of the poms not producing any good riders of course, rather than getting off their backsides and actually DOING something about it!
  8. I don't think Darcy was planning on GPs until 2012 - no sense rushing into anything unprepared.
  9. Well doen Darcy Ward - back-to-back World Champ. That should shut up a few knockers on here. Congratulations to the Mods too, for exposing 'Trond the Tractor' as the latest Troll from Wolverhampton.
  10. Could be pushing poo uphill, Dexter. Keep an eye on this site - http://www.centralcoastspeedway.com/dates.html - for any news. I think your nearest track'll be Nepean/Castlereagh. When I first came to OZ we used to fire up the ol' Rambler Rebel, roll a coupla scoobs and head out to Castlereagh Drags - now long gone! 1/4 mile to Endsville!
  11. Doing Doughnuts on the eighteenth green might raise some eyebrows, and earn some much-needed publicity for the club! How are our wounded warriors doing; will we be raiding the NL reserve pile again? Go HORNETS!
  12. Yep, Parramatta is ON. Dexter, check out the TPCR website - http://www.sydneyspeedway.com.au/ - for more details of Tappy's spectacular - it's got the lot: Solos; Sidecars; Sprintcars and a Demo Derby! When 10-time Australian Sprintcar Champ Gary Rush and his mates took over TPCR he promised that if the Bikes wanted a race meeting then he'd prepare a track for them. Now David Tapp is GM there it's London to a Brick that there'll be more mixed meetings there. I'll be there along with the usual travelling circus of motley fans that go all over Oz in search of High Octane Entertainment - be it Two- Three- or Four-wheeled! Bring Back Mixed Meetings! See you there! Remarkably erudite post there, tink426, I can only presume that like the vast majority of our Two and Three-wheeled buddies you've had occasion to beat your head against the brick wall that is MA. So far this year they've already cost us the 2011 FIM Sidecars Gold Trophy. We must get together and compare bruises sometime.
  13. Good to see Speedway's still alive and well in the West, fullockracingwa. What happened to building a bike track at the Motoplex? More to the point has anyone over there seen Ozyace lately?
  14. Still living in the past, squally? Better take that pink wig off as well.
  15. It started out as a PL Reserves thing but then the Little Englanders arrived and like Topsy, it's Growed!
  16. I thought we WERE discussing it on the British Reserves thread, Trees?
  17. Never mind the locals, mate, if you know anything about Darwin (which somehow I doubt) then you'll be aware that it's still Backpacker Season over here. As a matter of fact I've got a couple of 21-y-o Pommie Sheilas; Amy & Katie, due in Wednesday arvo to be shown the sights (Put It Away! What an 'Orrible Sight!) by a mature local guide; the original hard-core dinki-di true blue caring, unattached, Northern Territorian - ME!
  18. Even if he has a 'mare in Polska Holder should be in next year as a GP winner in his first season. Disappointing night for all Aussies tonight, but ho-hum, better luck in a fortnight. Its been a great GP Season so far; the only gripe I have is the track taking so long to come good. Once again the track took a while to settle down as has happened in most GPs this year, which can seriously disadvantage riders on 'bad' gates. Might be an idea for going back to the pre-2007 format with a series of preliminary heats, or even getting some local lads to 'kick the dew' off the track prior to the meeting proper. Well Done Tomasz; congratulations on a hard-fought, hard-earned win and championship. PS Bit disappointed with the Start Tarts tonight; must have scraped the barrel at the local dogs' home - in a pinch I'd give it to White.
  19. From my own Corrrespondent: Raining at 9:00am, but its stopped now. Sky's black, however inside the bar everything's Wonderful!
  20. Great win for the HORNETS Select! Good choice of guests: glad there were a couple of HORNETS in the team! Seriously, a swift return for all our wounded warriors.
  21. Apparently they got practise in, (Crumpy & Bomber both looking fast) then the heavens opened and my correspondent retired to the bar.
