  1. Back to the original point personally believe it’s time we sent as many teams as possible to race abroad. Whether it be125 250 under 19 under 21 or full blown international meetings. We have been to insular for to long. Plenty of talent on these shores all willing to travel they just need the scb acu tosort it
  2. Thanks for that tidy little rider is Ashton rides a nice line
  3. Personally think it’s two fairly evenly matched teams with plenty of young talent on show . Think the meeting deserves supporting by all who can get I know I shall be there
  4. With Max james named in the star as a 250 rider who is the other
  5. i understand the Njl run 500s and 125s in same meeting having been part of it for the last 4 seasons and their totals are added together to gain a result . however my point was the juniors in this meeting which is a 19 heat format and not 6 like Njl meetings count towards the whole meeting total. i dont believe there was a disagreement i was just searching for the facts to educate myself. most people who have a healthy knowledge of junior speedway know me and i can confirm i wasnt one of the parents asked if we had a 500
  6. I like the idea of Wayne riding he is and has been a major influence on a lot of the riders in both teams with many having started under his guidance on Scunthorpe’s mini track
  7. Really looking forward to the meeting it’s coming up quick 19 heats with some quality youth and some experienced hands . Also awaiting answer from ringitsneck on question posed.
  8. No excitement here I like to have the facts,I will be there as I usually am when there is a meeting . Don’t know about payment for the riders but I’m sure if they have agreed to ride they are obviously happy at what is being offered
  9. Please enlighten me as to which four currently practice on a 500 I’m intrigued to know as from what I understand only one is old enough to ride a 500 at the beginning of next year in any form of competition . Two don’t turn 14 until late June early July and the other 2 only turn 13 next year. And I’m sure your sponsored rider is very appreciative of your help and I do agree the sport does need to be run independently. also could you point me in the direction of a meeting that this has been done before at in this country where kids are in the team and racing in the main meeting and not as a second half slot. You could be right but I would like to see who was riding and in what form. Also the meetings Leon did on his 250 i believe involved 500cc riders in the same race that isn’t happening at scunthorpe
  10. of course its innovative it has not been done here before. and im fully aware Leon did it in france as im fully aware of how many 250 riders there are and probably im slightly better informed than you on the 250 class. also i dont believe speedway is a £10 sport and from what i understand of the teams its not a junior meeting. currently there are 8 riders on 250s 5 regulars who race 3 who practice at this moment but chose not to race with another 5 at least for next year
  11. Personally think it’s a good deal 19 heats of speedway on a great track with some quality riders in and the innovative use of 250 riders as part of a 9 man team. It’s a great way of extending a meeting and making the kids feel part of the team can only be good for the future. Maybe this could be part of the bigger picture when the NDL is back next season.
  12. Don’t know him mate rob always calls him Barry but it could be anything mate. In fairness when I get chance to be a spectator I tend to spend lots of time in the bar or chatting with those who we stand with
  13. I can’t disagree with that a fantastic afternoon. It’s always the same with the announcer at scunny I’ve stopped trying to understand him
  14. So as I understand it you Know all the riders taking part in the meeting and you still don’t feel it’s of national league standard. I would suggest Leicester will have the Thompson twins in and scunny to have jordan I have not heard about Lambert but you could well be right. Personally think I Wayne does ride it’s not a problem as these kids will give him a torrid time. Also in fairness if you are asking people to pay to watch the standard needs to be higher than the amateur level and also none of the riders I’m aware of is classed as a professional
  15. Yes but this is not a league meeting it is a meeting to keep some interest alive . Where have you seen a anything other regarding the meeting as I can’t find anything else.
  16. Agree so this meeting keeps the interest to those who are still interested. Can’t believe that someone can be negative about any meeting this year. And I do think it’s a great idea giving the 250 boys a go as part of the teams. Youngest is 12 oldest 13 got to be a positive
  17. But this is 2020 no league at at all it’s a meeting to keep speedway in the spotlight
  18. It’s,a national league standard meeting not a youth meeting
  19. Email should come straight away as a payment confirmation mine did
  20. I know the photo is made to look like the kids are close but for all you who haven’t ever witnessed youth speedway it does get like this. To all the neigh sayers who believe there is no talent in the uk come along and watch and form a proper opinion . Personally believe the future is bright for a lot of our youth.
  21. I couldn’t agree more however where does the money to provide free racing come from with all clubs except a notable few struggle for finance.
  22. Yep paying to ride in the youth championship is been introduced and so it should be. All youth riders pay to practice and race amateur meetings so why not the youth championship. Hopefully by paying we will get some well prepared tracks not the usual Rubbish that we get when clubs are pressured into running a youth round after a main meeting which is then rushed through so all the staff can go home. Strand alone meetings are great Peterborough and Bellevue were great last year even though they took a lap off the 125/150 class Ipswich and Swindon the track was crap after a meeting prior. Just my opinion
  23. The point on not funding youth riders is not true on every occasion we have attended a FIM or fime meeting in Europe we have had some expense reimbursed. Also riders are not sent for anything 125cc or 250cc riders apply to the acu to go and they ask for places in the events. If the riders don’t ask the acu don’t request places for the older ages groups up to 21 the riders are invited to attend and can choose to accept or decline the spot . Example Kyle Bickley has declined his spot this year which was then offered to another rider.
