Positive Championship update
phillwhitewasmad replied to HGould's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In fairness I make you right that they deserve a place. However unless the world changes and travel restrictions are still in place can't see it happening as they will cite lack of riders to go round . Could work if the product was weakened so more upcoming youth were given a go and national league was changed to a proper development league as was its intention. wait with baited breath for the I'm not paying to watch wobblers brigade comment. But unless something drastic happens can't see the powers that be allowing another club in to the league. Hope I'm wrong -

I thought Thursday was reserved for premier league -
Anlas tyres were used by all riders at the scunthorpe v Leicester challenge and during the under 19 final at the same track. We have used them widely this season on the 250s for practice and ameature meetings found them very hard wearing and giving a consistent ride. Found the best pressure is around 10 psi. We have not used the front one yet but having felt it,it is more pliable in the hand in comparison to the mitas . The rear tyre we found is a bit more difficult to seat.

Anyone got any thoughts on next season’s team or are we all assuming it’s the same 7 who didn’t ride this year. -

Luke Harrision is 13 he is from scunthorpe. He is Wolverhampton mascot however hasn’t had chance to put the 250 round there yet due to some virus thing. He has ridden for Berwick in the junior league for 4 years and rides in as many practice and amateur events as possible. -
Personally wouldn’t question crump or schleins inclusion I’m more disappointed in those British riders who declined the invitation.

The track has changed fairly significantly since its inception straights and bends both widened and if memory serves me right it has more banking now without the slightly adverse camber that was there when built. -
Time to send a GB/England touring team abroad?
phillwhitewasmad replied to Bavarian's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
How about the scb applying to hold the 125 championship in 2021 . Today we had 3 riders in the top 8 in the Czech Republic. Would be good to hold the meeting here and offer free entry to schools -

phillwhitewasmad replied to Bavarian's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Back to the original point personally believe it’s time we sent as many teams as possible to race abroad. Whether it be125 250 under 19 under 21 or full blown international meetings. We have been to insular for to long. Plenty of talent on these shores all willing to travel they just need the scb acu tosort it -

i understand the Njl run 500s and 125s in same meeting having been part of it for the last 4 seasons and their totals are added together to gain a result . however my point was the juniors in this meeting which is a 19 heat format and not 6 like Njl meetings count towards the whole meeting total. i dont believe there was a disagreement i was just searching for the facts to educate myself. most people who have a healthy knowledge of junior speedway know me and i can confirm i wasnt one of the parents asked if we had a 500 -

I like the idea of Wayne riding he is and has been a major influence on a lot of the riders in both teams with many having started under his guidance on Scunthorpe’s mini track -

No excitement here I like to have the facts,I will be there as I usually am when there is a meeting . Don’t know about payment for the riders but I’m sure if they have agreed to ride they are obviously happy at what is being offered -

Please enlighten me as to which four currently practice on a 500 I’m intrigued to know as from what I understand only one is old enough to ride a 500 at the beginning of next year in any form of competition . Two don’t turn 14 until late June early July and the other 2 only turn 13 next year. And I’m sure your sponsored rider is very appreciative of your help and I do agree the sport does need to be run independently. also could you point me in the direction of a meeting that this has been done before at in this country where kids are in the team and racing in the main meeting and not as a second half slot. You could be right but I would like to see who was riding and in what form. Also the meetings Leon did on his 250 i believe involved 500cc riders in the same race that isn’t happening at scunthorpe -

of course its innovative it has not been done here before. and im fully aware Leon did it in france as im fully aware of how many 250 riders there are and probably im slightly better informed than you on the 250 class. also i dont believe speedway is a £10 sport and from what i understand of the teams its not a junior meeting. currently there are 8 riders on 250s 5 regulars who race 3 who practice at this moment but chose not to race with another 5 at least for next year -

Personally think it’s a good deal 19 heats of speedway on a great track with some quality riders in and the innovative use of 250 riders as part of a 9 man team. It’s a great way of extending a meeting and making the kids feel part of the team can only be good for the future. Maybe this could be part of the bigger picture when the NDL is back next season. -
