  1. Wouldn't be surprised if Nicki announced his retirement, can't see an extraleague team taking him on next year. 49 next year probably time to get out.
  2. Sheffield still got at least 2 prem meetings to complete, at this rate mid October before they stage Steelers v Leicester.
  3. Could Scunny make a shock move into the Premiership to keep it at 6 teams, sounds mad but Belle vue, Sheffield, Leicester and king's lynn would be decent crowds. Tai, Douglas, pickering, mpt, Allen, z.cook.
  4. Godfrey has been very quite all year, I thought he might have thanked the fans after a difficult season. Which riders didn't turn up in bar? Zaines average went up 0.94 Declans went up 0.64 Harrison went up 0.6 mountain went up 0.56 These are a bit misleading because every riders average should of gone up by 0.36 due to the team limit being 40 rather than 42.5.
  5. Scunny have never had the biggest crowds, I don't think the crowds have been too bad considering we have had a crap team. A successful team might bring a few more through the gate but I can't see Godfrey blowing the budget with Glasgow wages.
  6. Glasgow must have signed Nagel knowing he was going to miss so many fixtures. Makes speedway look silly, there should be a rule to prevent this kind of thing.
  7. Would make more sense to stage Steelers v Leicester at scunny.
  8. Doyle was well in front, he can do as he pleases, its not like he pulled a massive locker.
  9. The Sun newspaper running a fight night story, its a shame it takes something like this to get publicty but any publicity is good publicity.
  10. I don't know the finances but I would bet the BSI did take a share in the financial risk even if the local promoter had the most to lose. I am not suggesting a GP is going to cause a surge in domestic audiences but it can only have a positive effect. I don't think holding a gp in USA/Argentena/Australia/New zealand will be a profitable event, unless you take into account growth of the sport and sponsorship. The same could possibly be said for UK(if it was a single event), Latvia, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Russia. Discovery failing to grow the series is now causing them sponsorship problems.
  11. I agree they probably lost money going to Australia and New zealand but they went there for a number of years, along with big cities in Europe. When Speedway Gps go to these places it benefits the sport as a whole, prestige, media exposure, public awarness and sponsors. When Discovery got the contract they said they were going to grow the sport and have a gp in Australia by 2023 at the latest, I wasn't a fan of the BSI but they never to told porkies on this scale. .....
  12. They took the series to Australia and New Zealand, as well as great stadiums in big cities in Europe..... I think they were better than discovery.
  13. I still think they pretended to have Cardiff on the calender to improve their chances of getting sponsors, they were always going to a do a double in Manchester. If they were struggling for a financially viable crowd at Cardiff, having a second GP in the country would only have a negative effect on attendence. I would be surprised if they don't do 2 gps manchester next year, the only way to make it pay for Discovery.
  14. Kvech probably unless relations with Russia improve
  15. I enjoyed my visit to Berwick, a few decent races. The £3.50 programme was daylight robbery, that sort of thing pisses off the fans, god knows what a new fan would make of it.
